claig · 26/09/2016 09:13

The entire world's movers and shakers, swindlers and fakers, public money piss-takers will be watching in trepidation at what Trump will do to them. The entire world's great and the good, high and the mighty, shifty and flighty will be supporting Hillary. Will you be with the people supporting Trump?

Have you got the ice cream, the chocolate, the biscuits and the matchsticks to keep the eyelids open ready?

As a warm-up, here is Sky News's 30 minute documentary shown last night

"Trump. Could it really happen?"

I'm inclined to agree Voyage. He really can't be that stupid to quote like this and expect to get elected surely ....

Fiderer · 04/10/2016 07:19

I'd like to hope so, Voyage but I think he's come so far (against his own expectations) and now he and his supporters lap it up.

Didn't he say he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and people would still vote for him?

Lweji · 04/10/2016 07:23

Did he really say that or is it a spoof?!

Who can tell these days?

As someone commented, Who needs Friday Night Live when you have the actual debate?

claig · 04/10/2016 07:47

'Did he really say that or is it a spoof?'

He always speaks like that and says those things about "take the oil" etc. That particular quote is , if anything, more cogent than usual.

Assange wikileaks statements are still on, via videolink instead of on the balcony due to security concerns. Supposedly starting at 9am today

"UPDATE: Julian Assange of Wikileaks To Appear by Video Tomorrow Due to Apparent Assassination Concerns"

f anything, more cogent than usual.

God help the US! I could honestly write and speak better than him, he sounds like an ignorant wanker. I bet most of his party are absolutely brickin' it...

claig · 04/10/2016 08:12

'I bet most of his party are absolutely brickin' it...'

The Establishment and Establishment Republicans are absolutely brickin' it like never before. Trump fans are not. George H W Bush is voting for Hillary, Barbara Bush was partying with Huma Abedin at a Clinton fundraiser in Paris the other day. Trump fans await election day.

'I could honestly write and speak better than him, he sounds like an ignorant wanker'

Some people say he has communication genius, he speaks at 4th grade level so that everybody gets it. Trump fans definitely get it!

OP posts:
LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 04/10/2016 08:26

But that isn't 4th grade level. It isn't even 1st grade. Children at that level can generally string a coherent sentence together, Trump can't. I seriously doubt that Trump fans do get it, because no-one could.

Lweji · 04/10/2016 08:27

My 11 year old expresses better structured ideas.

claig · 04/10/2016 08:31

"Donald Trump speaks like a fourth-grader

Donald Trump connects with voters by using simple, commanding language that even a fourth-grader could understand, a report says — and the style has been so successful that his competitors are copying it.

“To his supporters, Trump’s style is refreshingly direct,” Wired magazine’s Chelsea Coe writes, noting that a commonly used formula for assessing reading skills shows the GOP front-runner consistently speaking at a fourth-grade level."

nypost.com/2016/03/17/donald-trump-speaks-at-a-fourth-grade-reading-level/

Apparently, the elite are running special emergency training classes for their bought and paid for representatives to try and teach them the genius of Trump's communication approach, but they are struggling to master it.

OP posts:
LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 04/10/2016 08:42

If that quote is a direct one, then we have the evidence before our eyes that Trump does not speak like a fourth grader. Has anyone ever come across any 9 or 10 year old that talks like that, even in the US?

claig · 04/10/2016 08:49

'If that quote is a direct one'

It is definitely direct. Trump has been saying exactly the same stuff for months on all his interviews and in all his rallies. Those are some of his standard talking points.

OP posts:
Roussette · 04/10/2016 08:59

Errr noooo... he is not a communication genius. Being President is not just about communicating with your 'fans'. You have to enter the world stage and communicate delicately with other world leaders - he'll be incapable of that. Apart perhaps from his 'new best friend' (his words) Putin.

Lweji · 04/10/2016 09:06

Donald Trump connects with voters by using simple, commanding language that even a fourth-grader could understand

That's actually not true. It looks simple, but he muddles his ideas so much that it's an instrument of confusion rather than of enlightenment or clarification.

claig · 04/10/2016 10:47

Nothing happened with Assange.

"America has to wait for WikiLeaks 'bombshell': Julian Assange WON'T publish new documents today despite rumors of an 'October surprise' - but he promises they'll be out before the election "

Trump has been saying exactly the same stuff for months on all his interviews and in all his rallies. Those are some of his standard talking points.

So he's been talking gibberish for months. None of which is surprising. But what is acceptable to his rabid followers isn't acceptable in a world leader. After all, let's face it, his followers pay very little attention to what is actually going on anyway - look at the standards of logic and intelligence shown here and .

Roussette · 04/10/2016 13:13

Heck those clips are hilarious in a scary way LadyC!

I love that part about Obama not being in the White House on 9/11. Grin

Bloody hell.

Roussette · 04/10/2016 16:32

Looks like your 'shy' Trump supporters just won't come out the woodwork claig!

here

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 04/10/2016 16:59

What does the link say, Roussette? It's behind a paywall.

Roussette · 04/10/2016 17:11

How weird. try again

If that doesn't work, if you google "shy trump supporters ft" it's the top story.

This is the crux of it
"Pollsters have looked far and wide and deep into their methodology and they say they have struggled to unearth evidence of the shy Trump voter theory advocated among others by Kellyanne Conway, Mr Trump’s campaign manager."

Lweji · 04/10/2016 22:35

So, "crooked" Trump used his "charidee" to get favours from Florida's Attorney General, who was deciding whether Florida should join the Federal suit against Trump's fake University.
Because "when I want something I get it. When I call they kiss my ass".

Well...

I, for one, would love to read Trump's emails.

Roussette · 05/10/2016 08:30

God he's really objectionable isn't he.... but no doubt claig will defend the indefensible.
Even his party seem to be deserting him in droves and poor Mike Pence at the VP debate, there were no words he could use to defend Trump so he just avoided the questions! He's probably got the worst job in the world at the moment.

Trump is at it again ... talking of war veterans with PTSD being weak (as opposed to them getting help and looking after their mental health)
