A lovely new thread to continue counting our blessings.

Everyone is welcome, of any faith or none at all. Just drop by to pause for a moment and think of what has made you smile or has gone well for you, however small it seems.

Gratitudes for today

Being at home all day with dd went well, sometimes we run out of patience with each other, usually at the same time!
Tesco delivery came after dinner (usually comes right in the middle)
DH did not have to work this evening, after working the last 3 evenings on the trot, on top of his day job.
A chilled evening on the sofa, started watching primeval on Netflix, so far so good.

stressedHEmum · 24/01/2015 17:48

a warm house
warm clothes
a brilliant time with my wee BB this morning
the happy laughter of children

OP posts:
minkGrundy · 24/01/2015 19:49

What's primeval?

I am glad dd was not more badly hurt when she fell off her bike. (Sore though)
For a lovely day with beautiful see views
A very good friend
The kindness of strangers who took dds bike home
Fish and chips

irishe · 24/01/2015 23:45

Mink, Primeval is a tv series, apparently it's been going for some time. Just started watching on Netflix. It's about anomalies in the fabric of time that allow dinosaurs to wander into present day Britain. It's a bit of entertaining silliness!

Gratitudes for today

Seeing my DD's happiness when I stayed in her music class this morning.
DD taking an unusual nap this afternoon allowing DH and I space to concentrate on finding paperwork for the dreaded tax return
Dd going to sleep at normal time despite 2 hour nap. Guess she must be exhausted with starting at school nursery this week.

KinkyDorito · 25/01/2015 07:50

Mink Hope your DD is okay Thanks.

Gratitudes:

My family Smile.
Weekends - time to breathe and just be.
Finding a new spiritual pursuit that I'm hoping to build on (aiming for contentment and shaking the depression).
Pay day tomorrow - I know that this month is going to be more challenging financially as DH has been ill and lost pay, however I am grateful that we have jobs and a regular income - that this will be one month and we can weather it. I know this is not the case for many families, so I feel very blessed (and sad that it has to be like this for others Sad). I think it would be too easy to get caught up in lamenting the hard month, and forget the bigger picture.

Annunziata · 25/01/2015 12:56

I am very grateful we have an income, I am at home with DD3 and I thank God for that.

I am also grateful MIL is making dinner for the whole team of us today!

and on a lighter note, my blinking DS has grown a moustache. You should see him. He looks like Mario or Luigi and he is such a good looking boy

stressedHEmum · 25/01/2015 17:01

Mink, hope your DD is OK and not too sore.

Annunziata, it's DS4's ambition to look like Luigi! He can't wait until he is old enough to grow facial hairHmm

gratitudes
DS3 seems to be recovering slowly but surely from his concussion
kids are old enough to amuse themselves because I am grim at the moment
watching birds in the garden
a warm home to shut out the cold, dark world

Thanks all. Minimink is fine. Still sore but the injury is drying up nicely and looks like it will close ok. She has been in a vile temper half the day though.

Gratitudes for today

Spent time with dd at nursery, good to see her settling and enjoying herself
Had arthroscopic distension on my shoulder today, procedure not too bad, hoping for some relief from pain
Managed to retrieve my woolly hat from the leisure centre, where I had left it yesterday. They had it hanging on the radiator and when I pulled it on, it was so warm and comfy! Just in time for the snow.

stressedHEmum · 29/01/2015 09:23
