A lovely new thread to continue counting our blessings.

Everyone is welcome, of any faith or none at all. Just drop by to pause for a moment and think of what has made you smile or has gone well for you, however small it seems.

Today's gratitudes ...

A couple of days into new term things seem to be settling down a bit at work
Also settling down at home after difficult beginning of week (partly, but only partly, due to feeling stressed about us all going back after the hols)
dd has gone on a lovely art trip to London and is thinking about doing art for A level which might be nice - always enjoy her beautiful creations except when they take all night to do
Some good phone calls with DSis and also DM yesterday
A couple of pancakes with maple syrup for lunch (also working mornings only - with 2 year olds it's enough!)

Yes, grateful for shelter - was still dark and stormy when I got up this morning (dh is ill (nasty cold) and was asking for strepsils and a cup of tea after a bad night for him - poor thing)

So grateful too for medicines and a nice brew Brew

Also for pleasant company on here (even if no-one else is up yet!)

And DC being picked up by a friend soon to go off to band practice ... so lots of gratitudes within that ... for DC and things for them to do, for friends, for music Thanks

Many blessings when we remember them x

Indeed, "so many blessings when we remember them". Am bad at that.
Shelter, definitely. Horrible out there!
Fridge full of food.
Friends- reliable or otherwise. Trying to be more tolerant especially as am just as imperfect!

Gratitudes today ...

Morning with friends at our Quaker Meeting, where a wonderful friend always organises such lovely things for the children, and many people make them welcome as an important part of the community. Love that sense of all ages together across the generations, supporting one another.

Afternoon at equally lovely community allotment project where I was given a piece of awesome creme caramel style "cake" and some interesting home brewed cider during anniversary celebrations (for the project)

Yesterday afternoon with a friend getting some shoes for ds and also for me - so ds can hopefully have dry feet next week! Played a nice game of chequers with ds today too - good to learn something new sometimes?

Time with my parents and gorgeous (and noisy) nephews.

A fairly relaxed weekend with little work (my new year's resolution is supposed to be NO work at a weekend, but the 3 hours I did is a vast improvement on the 20 I would normally do, just trying to get over the anxious feeling I should have done more...)

Mint tea.

Talk of a family holiday with DPs and DSis in 2017, which would be lovely if it happens.

Can I join? Hope it's okay. I think it's a really good thing to be grateful every day. It counts for so much.

My gratitudes today:
A happy time with DS at the recycling cents (aka the tip!)
Making a crochet owl
Cuddles with DS at bedtime- he doesn't normally go in for cuddles anymore but because he has been a bit poorly today, he did want some bedtime cuddles :)

I'd love to join you. What a fab idea.

  1. This thread giving me the opportunity to be positive

And thankful.
  1. Being able to run from my door through beautiful woods and downs
  2. Cuddles from my children
