A lovely new thread to continue counting our blessings.

Everyone is welcome, of any faith or none at all. Just drop by to pause for a moment and think of what has made you smile or has gone well for you, however small it seems.

For a lovely clean house .
My Christmas treat to my self was three cleaners for one hour - I cleaned alongside them .ive got very behind due to working long hours and my house was getting grubby .
It feels great !

Lovely ginorwine. I could do with them here Smile.

A lie-in. Weird.
Time with DS, playing games and chatting today.
Gathering the resolve and actually doing some work, which I always struggle with in the holidays and then panic on the first day back. Lots still to do, but at least I've begun.

ginorwine, can you send them my way, please?
kinky, work during the holidays is the pits, isn't it? I have paperwork to do that I just can't face, yet. Am in so much pain just now, that I can't even bear to think about it, but it needs done in the next few daysSad

Gratitudes
Shelter from the storms
Selfishly, that we don't live near a river
Painkiller, deep heat and hot water bottles.

It's a real pain - that's why I feel grateful I finally got the resolve to do some; it is a battle every single holiday. I can't help feeling begrudging that I have to work in my holiday, but if I don't, chaos will be unleashed.
Usually I put it off until the last minute and get very cross with myself. I did a couple of hours yesterday, will do a few hours today, tomorrow and then most of Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully that will put me in a decent position.

I'm grateful to be safe from the storm and floods, although I really feel for anyone caught up in them. We're in Leeds, so many in this area have been badly hit by it all.

I'm grateful for all of the emergency services and troops who have turned out to help people, along with the charities and volunteers trying to put together the clean up. If I didn't have DS at home with me, I'd go down to do some tidying help.

I'm grateful for quiet time with family.

I know, poor souls. It must be heartbreaking. My DS1 and his fiancée live in Cumbria. I am so grateful that they are in one of the areas that hasn't been flooded.

Thank goodness for emergency services, volunteers etc. who are so willing and able to help. Thank goodness as well for the community spirit that draws people together at times like this. Hopefully the worst is over for the time being, to give folks a chance to recover a little.
