Old thread here

Welcome to our Gratitudes for 2014! The lovely crescentmoon started last years, and we are running out of space. So, here is our 2014 thread-for little things that go well for us each day.

Any MNer can join in! From any faith, no faith, every day, once in a while, everyone is welcome!

I am grateful for
a New Year and new starts
all my grown up DC having a good time at parties and returning home safely
a warm bath and a glass of wine

Gratitudes for this evening ....

Have been able to make some progress today with the end of term paperwork for the children I work with - even though they're so young they get an end of term report these days!
dd's teachers were so encouraging to us both at the post mocks parent's evening - even though there were some lessons to be learned from the mocks themselves
Looking forward to a nice day at our Quaker Meeting House tomorrow - should be a lovely christmassy community day with a shared meal and a Christmas party for all (especially the children) in the afternoon Xmas Smile
So, thankful for the prospect of a day of rest, and the long tradition of this which still persists to some extent, especially within our faith communities

Thanks Annunziata.

Gratitudes:

Hopefully a gentle day today with Sunday dinner and a walk out in a bit
DS' birthday in two days - it is lovely to see him so excited! He will be 6.
Crumpets with butter
That I can feed my family (been collecting for those in food poverty at work and it really reminds me to pause and be thankful, as well as to try and give what we can)

A big six, happy birthday to him Kinky.

yy to a quiet Sunday. Although our house is perpetually mad and loud, it's quieter than normal anyway Grin

mmm, lovely hot tea - I have that this morning too Brew
And if it doesn't sound too grand .... our faith heritage, the things we remember and take with us from childhood ...
remembering the beautiful inspiring words of our school anthem this morning ...

Rejoice in the Lord always ... the Lord is at hand ....
be careful for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving ....
let your requests be made known unto God

I'm more liberal (and Quaker) these days than those words might suggest,
but still finding them helpful and comforting x

Too much travelling planned for snow just yet. After a week on Saturday, it can do it as much as it likes for me Grin.

The end of term!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A really, really lovely card from a student thanking me and saying what a good teacher I am - made my day Smile. Sometimes we get caught up in all of the rubbish and forget that that's the bit that is most important. I love the kids at my school and I feel very grateful that I am in a position to support them and help them achieve their goals. Many come from backgrounds that are challenging.
Christmas lunch with chatter and crackers and daft hats.
A lazy evening with my crochet ahead.

Feeling incredibly blessed. Smile

Oh you are a teacher Kinky? My nearly daughter in law is a primary teacher. She got so many lovely, lovely cards!

I feel very blessed too. The house is wrecked, the DC are up to their usual tricks and it's mad but that's the way I like it!

Yes, secondary. It is tough-going but has it's moments. I'm certainly ready for the break; I'm guessing your DIL will be too - it's been a LONG term Smile.

stressed love nativity! Bless.

I watched songs of praise by candlelight last night and DS came and had a lovely cuddle and watched a bit with me, so I felt very grateful and blessed then. I just wish I could sing!

Gratitudes:

abundance - food in the cupboards for dinner and tea, some nice bits for DCs to enjoy today
crochet - finally finished my wreath for DM and was grateful to have the time to sit and do it (I did get a bit sweary and places, but pleased I did it)
Family, family, family Xmas Smile.

Yes we are all okay, thank goodness. There is a horrible feeling in the city though. What a horrendous thing to happen. I can't stop thinking about the driver either. He only went to work, poor soul.

I hope everyone has a lovely, peaceful Christmas and I will say a prayer for everyone tonight
