Old thread here

Welcome to our Gratitudes for 2014! The lovely crescentmoon started last years, and we are running out of space. So, here is our 2014 thread-for little things that go well for us each day.

Any MNer can join in! From any faith, no faith, every day, once in a while, everyone is welcome!

I am grateful for
a New Year and new starts
all my grown up DC having a good time at parties and returning home safely
a warm bath and a glass of wine

Thanks all Smile.

Gratitudes:

That I have a job, even though I might not always like it...
Twinkling Christmas lights with my toast this morning (not to eat, to watch)
The funny things DS does and says Smile

Love my little family - am blessed.

stressedHEmum · 04/12/2014 09:22

The smell of baking gingerbread
hot, spicy fruit tea
quiet time for a bit of advent reflection

Me too Annunziata - lived in Bristol for ten years as a student - I spun student life out as long as I could - but it just brings it to mind more IYKWIM Sad

Liking your post Kinky - "that I have a job, even though I don't always like it" - I've not had a great day at work today, but even within that I see many blessings and much grace - basically I work with some good people and lovely children and families - plus one of them, moving on as moving house, gave us all some yummy chocolates the other day which I'm just polishing off tonight Smile

Also glad if your post crash meant you posted that cute robin pic instead - I love robins, especially around Christmas time Thanks

This thread a great blessing tonight, and for many others too I'm sure. Simply being thankful is a really wonderful thing x

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 04/12/2014 18:11

Annunziata me too Sad. Just awful.

Juggling I'm having a period of not liking it much at all, but grateful it is there and I can, like you do, help other people through it. Thanks

JugglingFromHereToThere · 04/12/2014 18:22

That is the single most encouraging line I've ever read on MN Kinky - many thanks x

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 04/12/2014 19:19

Smile Thanks Thanks x

Morning am grateful for a beautiful day, a stunning, creamy full moon last night. Anyone else see it?
Sweet words of appreciation from dc, feels rare to me so very powerful.
Choices, however confusing.

Annunziata · 06/12/2014 12:14

Oh yes, it was massive dogs! And it was so clear last night too.

Lovely to see you again crescentmoon

My gratitudes today ....

A lovely afternoon of mid-winter circle dancing with friends
Some lovely Christmassy goodies from LIDL - the spanish nougat or "torta" went down very well whilst DC watched "Lord of the Rings"
A bright day with blue skies even if it did seem very short with sun noticeably going down as we danced - and quite chilly too especially first thing?

So, feeling all solsticey today though know it's a little while off yet
Looking forward to welcoming in a New Year and joining a gratitudes 2015 thread very soon :-)

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 07/12/2014 12:41

Too many Christmas goodies from Lidl here Juggling - need to calm down a bit or will be shopping for bigger work trousers in the new year! Grin My work top has two large stollen and bakery mince pies, plus donuts DH bought at the Christmas market. Curse my weak resolve!

Gratitudes:

Lovely hour at the market with family Smile
Cheese pretzel from market for lunch
Planning to have a quiet half hour watching songs of praise with my candles lit this evening

I'm not religious, but I think reflection and gratitude are essential at this time of year; I like sitting and listening to the carols by candlelight and having a little thanks for my world Smile.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 07/12/2014 20:15

That's lovely kinky - I think we're quite like minded - and have similar taste in baked Christmas goods Grin

Songs of Praise was quite lively today wasn't it - from Brixton so lots of gospel - hope you still enjoyed it? Personally I like many styles of singing and music, and enjoy the evident spirituality of gospel songs. But maybe not quite as peaceful as a nice chant from Taize?

TheDogsMissingBollock · 07/12/2014 20:38

Mince pies are my downfall!
Am grateful for a lovely, traditional community event this weekend. Ditto
Doing the tree with dc and re-discovering some long-lost homemade decorations they'd made as tots! Nice, homemade food eaten together.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 07/12/2014 21:36

Sounds like you've had a similar good weekend to me Dogs with lovely traditional community event and dc doing the tree - we have a good collection of homemade decs now too, and it's always nice to see them again when we open the Christmas tree box - I was telling DS what a pain it used to be getting the tree lights to work when I was a child - carefully checking each bulb - they seem much better these days?
So gratitudes for all those things too

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 08/12/2014 06:12

Juggling definitely gratitude for the LEDs Grin! You use to get them on the tree, having checked, one would be knocked and then you'd have to check them all again. I did like Songs yesterday - I like the variety. I'm also from the East Coast near Malton, so it was very interesting to watch the things happening there that I never knew about.

Gratitude is always harder to find on a Monday morning, but here we are:

My lovely family
Central heating - it sounds wild out there this morning
Plenty of food in the cupboards

Wishing everyone a nice Monday in spite of it being Monday! Grin

TheDogsMissingBollock · 08/12/2014 18:54

Am grateful for non-crises currently (but don't want to temp fate!) . So many/most? people worldwide have at least one to deal with at any one time.
Food, shelter and yes to warmth also. It's cold out there.
Bless you all.

Annunziata · 08/12/2014 19:25

Grateful for

Even though I should be profoundly ungrateful for being woken up at 3.30am, got a load of work done so feeling very productive.

Grateful for - weekend approaching, DDs oncology apt today (I like the reassurance), DS getting ready for his nativity tomorrow that I've actually been able to get time off to see Smile.

It was fine, thank you crescent Thanks.

So I'm grateful for that!

I'm also grateful for another early wake up; although I'm tired, I've just written the majority of my Christmas cards, so that's a little pressure off.
I'm grateful that it is DS's nativity today (and excited Grin). I might cry when they sing Away in a Manger though...
I am grateful to have my lovely family coming to visit tomorrow.

stressedHEmum · 12/12/2014 13:12

Glad things went well. Kinky.Flowers

I can't tell you how happy I am to see you, crescent.
