Old thread here

Welcome to our Gratitudes for 2014! The lovely crescentmoon started last years, and we are running out of space. So, here is our 2014 thread-for little things that go well for us each day.

Any MNer can join in! From any faith, no faith, every day, once in a while, everyone is welcome!

I am grateful for
a New Year and new starts
all my grown up DC having a good time at parties and returning home safely
a warm bath and a glass of wine

So tired atm, know what you mean stressed!

Pleased you've had a positive morning The Dogs.

Gratitudes:
Being back at DPs this weekend (I still hate the fact I am living away from the rest of my family)
Payday is coming!
Quiet time now watching a film with DH and DS Smile

stressedHEmum · 23/11/2014 18:52

Lovely how things are a bit better, Dogs.

shelter from the cold and rain
an uplifting service this morning
the chance to serve our Guild by making tea for them all this morning.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 23/11/2014 18:57

Thanks, enjoy the film
Well after horrendous PMT, (we're all) v glad owriod started. Made me refkect on how vlever our bodies are -monthly cycle, pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding. Weird not celebrated how clever we are, doing all that rather than whispered references to women's issues. Guess things are getting more open now though.
Anyway, i digress!
Also grateful for a lovely, stormy sunset. Dd enjoying a good book. A clean kitchen.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 23/11/2014 18:57

Sorry for iphone typos! Meant "period", obviously.

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 25/11/2014 07:04

Fell over yesterday, so am very bumped and bruised.

I am grateful for:

a quieter work evening so I could put my feet up when I got in!
DS feeling better and back to school
DD muddling along well at the moment
a month to Christmas so we can start the music! Grin

stressedHEmum · 25/11/2014 09:08

Oh gosh, hope you are OK, Kinky.

gratitudes
DS2's infinite patience with DS4
DS4 has a friend!
sleep
having a roof over our heads and simple, nutritious food for our stomachs

I LOVE Christmas music but am trying to hold out till Advent Sunday, much to DD's disgust. She has been watching Christmas films for a month. Now we play Christmas Movie bingo because they are all the sameSmile

TheDogsMissingBollock · 25/11/2014 14:40

Kinky, how are you doing? Sounds a nasty fall.

Today am grateful for the beauty of a frosty countryside, just like a Christmas card; time to myself; my kids' schools which are fab and coffee!

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 26/11/2014 07:05

Thanks I'm okay - blue knees and a black eye! A bit sore but muddling on Smile.

Toast and marmite
Horrible Histories! Thanks Netflix.
Payday - grateful for my job, my income, and being able to buy presents for Christmas.

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 26/11/2014 07:06

I am very restrained now Stressed - the music used to go on in October Grin. I save my carols for advent though.

stressedHEmum · 26/11/2014 10:08

Only 5 more days and we can start plagueing folk with Carols from Kings and the likeGrin. I hope you feel better soon, Kinky.

gratitudes

parents are safely home from visiting my sister in Australia
my nephews had a great time with their gran and papa
a potentially dry day for hanging out washing
small blessings that God gives us every day and that we take for granted

TheDogsMissingBollock · 26/11/2014 12:14

Am not Christian but I do love a good carol, especially Carols from Kings. The thrill of hearing the boy soprano, live, singing Once in Royal, on Christmas Eve.. Nothing beats that for a lovely, timeless Christmas tradition.
Am grateful for dc1 bucking up a bit today, dc2's eye for colours & nature to notice the beauty of where we live. Also coffee (again, am i allowed?!) and peace.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 27/11/2014 12:00

Today am grateful for my MIL whom i love dearly despite our clashes; crisp sunrise walk, comfort of baking.

StillWearingOddSocks · 27/11/2014 12:31

Hello all - can I join you?

I get stressed about gratitudes in case I miss something big (my good health, my gorgeous child) & it gets smitten by resulting karma. I'm a stresser as you can see & feel I need to approach this with a caveat! Hmm

On gratitudes for small things -

Avoiding argument with DH this morning over trivial matter
Beautiful foliage on trees outside window
Home made sarnies, made with love
Technology that enables chatting with lovely MNetters

Lovely thread x

BlackeyedSusan · 27/11/2014 13:08

I wrote a long post, but lost it, so I am going to have one big gratitude today. That my nemesis, the little robin, finally sat still to have his photo taken and sang his heart out for me. He was a poser. It's taken me a year!
