Oooooo Mumface pretty, quick question where can I get decent boosters from? I want to get a variety of hemp, microfibre, fleece and the like to see what suits us best.

I've seen them around, but I don't know which are the good stuff.

mumface · 25/07/2010 13:13

You can get a variety of boosters from Easy Peasy and they do a mixed booster trial pack.

thanks mumface, spoken to babybots and seems it may be the fit as gapping around his legs ..

anyone who has used coolababy, at what age did the start to be nice and snug?

MummyBerryJuice · 25/07/2010 19:35

Hi everyone. Hope you've all had a good weekend. Ours was great, Jose Careras and Kiri Tekanawa on Friday, garden party on Sat and lovely family lunch today!

Would anyone care to talk to me about longies? Like what are they exactly and how are they used?

mumface · 26/07/2010 09:41

Sound like a great weekend MBJ!

Wool works as a water resistant barrier when it is treated with lanolin. So woolly pants can be worn over a fitted nappy, especially good for nights as it is breathable and allows a certain amount of evaporation (as does fleece) You don't have to wash them after every use as they are self cleansing to a certain degree, (magic) only when they get stinky or soiled. You then need to retreat with lanolin every few washes by soaking them in a solution.

I have got some soapnuts on the way to try for washing. Comes with a bottle of lemon essential oil to put in the rinse cycle to make them smell fresh. Does anybody know if this is ok to use on nappies?

Hermya321 · 26/07/2010 16:18

Bought some monkeyfoot wet bags. I'm so excited!!!

mumface · 26/07/2010 17:19

What colour did you go for steph? I have a love hate relationship with Itti's. I had almost every colour in medium snap in ones, then went on to large all-in-ones which I got a couple free and bargain prices at the baby show ( Connor helped out modelling ) , then sold all but 3 as went off the scrunchy feel of them. Am now tempted to try him in the large snap ins as I LOVED them in mediums.

treedelivery · 26/07/2010 18:17

Hi all.

Jabula are selling 2 Ittis for £22
I also got some much needed hemp and bamboo boosters in the sale. I am overrun with microfbre, but I need some 'substance' now she's older. Bigger wee's, less often. Heralds potty training!!!!

I hate the Itti scrunchyness, it's so worrying isn't it? I am always wondering if they will suddely curl up and die.

Ohhhhh puddlekins. I am not keen on 2 parters, but they really are squashy lumps of squidgy loveliness.

mumface · 26/07/2010 20:07

Ooo good timing tree, I had decided to try one and spotted this just in time. Now I have melon and jade coming. Am hoping they don't die on me. Really hoping.

steph1512 · 26/07/2010 20:40

Its a turquoise one i love it but obviously hasnt been washed etc yet so dont know how they hold up! is that what you mean by scrunchy?

mumface · 26/07/2010 21:49

There was a rogue batch a while ago where the pul was delaminating from the minky and the outers shrivelled up. They have sorted that problem now. But on some, after a while they can go a bit crunchy and make a kind of scrunching noise. I suppose it's just wear. Maybe it's build up, not sure.

Hi to anybody who remembers me Was talking to Tree by pm last weekend and said I'd come on and give everybody a virtual wave.

Hope everyone is well. I've finally bitten the bullet and I'm knitting for other people now. I've only swithered about it for the last 8 months or so, lol. I've done a couple of customs already and have a wee waiting list, so it's all going well so far.

Although I should be knitting tonight, but had a bad night with ds2 last night so am too tired to see properly I'll have a lot of catching up to do tomorrow - wish me luck!

treedelivery · 27/07/2010 10:25

Hi Tree, off to the PO just now. I decided a freshen up was in order so just getting them posted today

treedelivery · 27/07/2010 18:13

How exciting!

My dd1 is away too, she is 5.9. I didn't cry but then she went away for 2 nights since she was 9months, and I did too, to work. So I'm used to it.

SHe's back this evening [smle]

Dh just got in and has taken dd2 to the shop in a bambooty, strawberry print, and a tshirt. I love summer!

Posted some magic-alls to a buyer, and they have come rght back to me! Blooming PO it clearly said 'to'and 'from'.

They obviously don't want to leave me

steph1512 · 27/07/2010 19:26

myjobismum..thanks for the lovely welcome

My dh has just given me the all clear to order some itti's..im just slightly concerned about how long they will last??

my ds is prob 15lb ish..do you think i could get away with large so i dont have to buy more in a few months?

mumface · 27/07/2010 20:11

Your magic-alls must really love you tree!
Hope they will redeliver without charge and you customer understands the delay.

Steph I used mediums and larges at that weight. The meds were def a better fit, but larges fit fine too as the waist goes down tiny, just compromised on a slight bit of leg gape. Which wasn't too much a problem as the runny poo stage was over for us by then.
Green me have them on sale and free p&p too.

steph1512 · 27/07/2010 20:24

oh im so excited, just need to decide how many to get!?

My dh's words were..'order what you need dont just get a few thne start saying you wish you had ordered more as there isnt enough!' He is not a fan of the sumo MEOS Ds has at the moment (nor am i really although look better on my very chubby legged dd 2yrs)

Although he is unaware they are sized

Thats why i wondered whether to order large, but the coolababys gapped alot on ds so the large ittis may do the same but obviously would save alot to go straight to large hmm decisions decisions!

We are still get bf poos although in a couple of months will have started weaning so may be better.

Did your dcs outgrow medium before the guideline weight i know they are low rise and snug but still struggle to see them going that far?

mumface · 27/07/2010 20:41

If the coolababies leg gape go for the medium Itti, the larges tend to bulge out when baby sits down if they are too big. you can recover some money if you sell them to get larges? They didn't last the full weight with mine, went onto just larges at about 20lb, just because the rise got very low on the medium and were skimpy.
Great DH loves them, how many do you think you will get, you can always get a few extra booster sets and I found the med inserts worked fine in the large outers. (just to confuse you more!)

OP posts:
steph1512 · 27/07/2010 20:58

Im impressed dh likes them and it was instant to ..but like i say i havent mentioned they are sized and he will need bigger ones eventually! so may have to do so esp as when i started my cloth adventure a few weeks ago my big winner was the argumant it will save so much money once they are bought thats it no more needed!

I was thinking of maybe buying 5 as a starter plus extra insert sets as they are 10.99 on bumfluff at the mo free p&p over 50quid(might get the tiger AIO as cant resist it)

My thinking behind this is if he grows quite a bit and needs a bigger size i could have a few itti then some coolababies as cheap top ups!?? Tired the coolababy on my dd today and it seemed ok but still damp at the out edges when i changed!? but had been on a while so maybe thats why.

So far i have tried the coolsbaby the MEOS and the itti and they itti was on the longest and by far the most dry he hasnt tested it with an explosion yet thou

bagpuss · 27/07/2010 21:03

Hello all! Jut popping on for a quick read. Hope everyone is well. No news here, still waiting for my tots delivery and haven't felt compelled to buy anything more recently - maybe my good luck has cured me .

Scotia, I saw your lovely knitting on FB. Good luck with it .

myjob, hope ds has a great time. My ds1 is away for a sleepover at my mum and dad's tonight - it is very quiet .

Tree, lol at returning magicalls!

steph (and especially for myjob )- pictures of my two in medium ittis at the bottom of my profile - they were 13lbs 10 oz and 16 lbs 4 oz when these pics were taken. I have a love hate relationship with ittis too. Loved the small ones we had until they delaminated and then bought two AIOs which are very squishy and a better fit and more recently two SIOs which are largely OK as long as I don't leave them too long.

mumface how are you getting on with the soap nuts? Tempted to try as I seem to be having some issues with smelly nappies but not sure its buildup as no bubbles .

steph1512 · 27/07/2010 21:14

Aww bagpuss ive just looked at your pics and started to well up they are soooo gorgeous. And the thumb sucking one is adorable!

Also well done you...5!

3 just 4 and under is enough for me at the mo
