With the Itti SIO, if you have extra inserts, you can just change the inserts. I love this when out & about as you don't have to carry lots of whole nappies about. I tend to take 3 or 4 extra inserts & 1 nappy, incase one gets soiled. Also means less wet/dirty to bring back too.

Also it works out cheaper per nappy.

I think I have 3 inserts per SIO cover.

salbysea · 26/03/2010 18:55

ROFL at the idea of my wriggle monster waiting patiently on a change table while I switch snap ins
its a case of whip old nappy out and new nappy straight in I'm afraid so changing inserts not so much of an option here unfortunately LOL
suppose I could do it if I alternated 2 outers so there was always one ready......

salbysea · 26/03/2010 18:57

oh bit thumbs up to the TB stretchy. DS wore it last night (did not sleep but I don't think that was nappy related) and in the morning did the most massive poo that no sposie on earth woulda contained but the stretchy kept it all in

4andnotout · 26/03/2010 19:24

I love the stretchies too

The dd's bedroom is all finished, it looks lovely unfortunately we can't fit 2 beds in so hoping that the cot bed we are picking up
tommorow will fit! Have freecycled the nursery furniture that was in there just so that I could actually move on
my landing! I can't wait until all of our rooms are decorated, I have picked out a new bed and new linens, I'm having fuscia with a black script from chasing cars by snowpatrol behind my bed.

Octothebaglady · 26/03/2010 19:51

Cool 4 - put up pics when done.

Babybots · 27/03/2010 11:11

Hi all!

Popping in quick as getting ready for a baby show tomorrow. Really worried about leaving Ds all day still Im such a softie!

I cant remember who asked about night nappies?
Ive ditched the PUL wraps at night as realised it was making Ds skin really red and sore in the morning over the whole nappy area... But with fleece it doesnt happen - i guess its the breathable bit. Also i decided it was time to try the LP Micros and Little Lamb Micros to compare as herd loads of great stuff about them at night!

Tbh no difference, except price of course the both work really really well with fleece over night and hardly any boosting! The back of the nappy isnt even wet when i take it off! Going to get some more. (said like its hard to get them out of my store room! lol)

Ohhh yeah for nice new decod' rooms! I need to sort Ds's room really too, mind you he prefers not to be in it at the moment

Ok everyone have a great weekend!

myjob, not posted the nappy yet incase you were on the look out for it. Its all packaged up and ready to go, have a day off on tuesday will post then.

I WANT MY WEE NOTIONS NOW!!!! keep checking FB to see if they're in any of the recently made group pics

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 27/03/2010 23:24

just need a bit of advice from you lovely ladies. i have posted in good houskeeping aswell but have very kindly been directed over here (thanks neenz)

when i take off a nappy i flush the poo and put the nappy in the nappy bucket and i pour vinegar over it to neutralise the urine. i have never had any problems with this but my washing machine has been broken for about a month now and my mum is complaining that she keeps finding poo in her machine after i have washed my nappies in it.

she reckons i should be rinsing and pre-soaking them whilst in the bucket.

what do you all do and what should i do to stop this happening? i use reusable liners and wipes but there usually isn't that much poo on them after removing most with the liner and then flushing

salbysea · 27/03/2010 23:44

I'm fairly new to cloth so no expert but here's what I do;
have 2 lidded buckets, one stores the wet only nappies (nothing added) and the other is for soaking soiled ones, in a laundry bag in water with tea tree and lavender. I use liners too so there is rarely much poo but I still soak them. If the liner has failed and its a bad un, and I have enough nappies in the dry bucket for a load, I do a cold rinse first rather than soaking

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 27/03/2010 23:48

so you do a cold rinse in the machine or by hand?

also when you soak the dirty nappies, does that not make for a messy transfer from bucket to machine?

salbysea · 28/03/2010 00:00

machine

when soaked in bucket they are in a laundry bag so no fishing around in the water. I put the bucket up against the machine, take 2 boosters from the 'dry' bucket and lay them across in a sort of bridge between bucket and drum to catch drips and lift out laundry bag and pop it in the drum. TBH the water is usually clear due to the liners anyway

I would guess the prob your mum is having is due to poo being allowed to dry solid before going in the machine

but like I said, I'm a newbie, an expert will be along soon

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 28/03/2010 00:09

thanks sal, i think i will try that then from now on.

i have been washing them exactly the same way in her machine as i do in my own and i never find poo at home. typical!

4andnotout · 28/03/2010 08:59

I flush any solids down the toilet and the. Just throw all the wipes and the nappy into a zip up wet bag so that whe it's time to wash them I only have to unzip the bag and throw it in the machine. I do a rinse first then a 60 wash and another rinse.

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 28/03/2010 10:41

thanks 4andnotout, i might try rinsing first then and see if that helps. our new machine is coming on thurs so should'nt have to put up with it for too much longer anyway

mumface · 28/03/2010 10:52

I never soak, just tip (or use loo roll to remove) down loo, then in bucket. Load into machine, rinse cycle, then 40 wash with 3 scoops Bold. I occassionally get a freshly washed nugget waiting at the machine door but only when I have been too tired (lazy) to remove properly
Lewis is almost completely trained for wees, but am still having to put him in nappy to do a poo. He refuses to do it anywhere else. Am trying bribery next I think. He starts nursery after easter and I would love him to be like the other kids. He stills seems like a very big baby to me!

Octothebaglady · 28/03/2010 14:13

I used to shake and then dry pail or in a large monkeyfoot wet bag and then wash as normal.

Bespoke Baby Room sale starts today btw - some good nappy basics very cheap - not much left though.

peachybums · 28/03/2010 20:28

Will be fantastic when i can hang nappies out in sun, not having a dryer is a pain, esp when its warm and raining, have to put nappies on airer over radiatators, ooo too warm! They smell so fresh too on line :D
