Quick wave to Scotia. Good Luck with the knitting Scotia. My plans are on the back burner, but I am picking up knitting again, so who knows where it will lead...if you need some contracting out done though...you know where I am!!

I am swithering about my decision to give up cloth again....not helped by the fact that I am expecting a load of fluff in this week that I volunteered to test ages ago. Basically I am regaining all the stuff that I have just sold, except newer and the latest versions!!! My DD's dolly has profited as well from me selling off my demo kit; her dolly is sporting a lollipop rainbow pocket and a bummis superbrite wrap which we have a folded muslin or prefold under. Billy has to have her nappy changed morning noon and night, lol! She did have a spell in my ex demo itti, but somone bought it!

Hermya, I still have a lot of newborn nappies if you are interested.

Hi to Steph and welcome

lol at your boomerang magic-alls tree; they are Australian aren't they? how is DD's foot? Is she doing OK with the cast on?

Well he was 6lb15 born so has doubled, but being the third i dont get him weighed very often..so his current weight is a guess! He is following a similar line to my dd2 she is chunky! Shame i didnt discover cloth first time round my dd1 one would have been brill as she was only 16lbs at a yr and would prob fit in the nappies now at 4

Just had a quick peek on used nappy tree and i see what you mean lots on ther only a pound less than ive found them new online

while im here a question for coolababy users..do they get wet around the edges outside and in? Put mine on dd2 today and it did..not sure if it was on too long, i had not put the boosters in correctly or if its just that nappy??

LacksDaisies · 27/07/2010 22:14

steph, I never got on with the one coolababy I bought, but also found that unless I boosted it lots or used a different insert then it would wick really badly. the insert is just a bit thin and weedy imo. I also found I would get wicking around the front snaps as well.

mumface · 28/07/2010 09:00

it's time for a nappy shuffle along. Have listed 2 pairs of Blueberry training pants as still have another 4 pairs and have 3 superundies aswell now, and Ellashouse Bumhuggers as have so many night nappies too.

Im not really near any baby show

Starting to worry bout my nappy splurge now..since i decided to go for some itti's ive noticed lots of people saying they leak Mmmm what to do!

I recieved a pre loved pop in 2day..was ok looking but bobbled. But quite a nice fit and kept ds dry and leak free he christened is with a goos explosion! I liked the gusset around they leg..looks like a leak would be hard.

Itti doesnt have a gusset but sooo cute

Hermya321 · 28/07/2010 20:56

Lacks What have you got?

I was looking at the Little Lambs try them all pack, do you think it's worth it? Seems to be a lot more reasonable than any of the others I've come across.

Also if I wanted to do the old nappy advisor thing a bit later on, how would I go about that?

mumface · 28/07/2010 21:02

Just taken a load out of machine washed with the soapnuts. They came out just as clean as with powder and there were 2 awful pooey ones in there too. No smell at all. Didn't use the lemon oil as worried might damage pul and there were 2 itti's prewashing in there too. Really impressed. Should be good for build up too as there were hardly any suds created.

Hermya, I'll CAT you as it's too much to list (and not the done thing on this thread ), but I do have a few newborn/1st size nappies left and some btp ones as well.

Loads of companies have nappy advisors now, Lollipop, FYP, ModernBaby and there will be details on their websites. You could either do it that way (you buy your demo kit which varies in content and price depending which company you go with and get a bit of support from them, including referrals, stationery etc) or you can do it as an independant, and put together your own wee demo kit. Probably more expensive that way and some manufacturers will have a minimum order, but if you were say with Lollipop, there is no minimum for their advisors to buy, unless you go all the way and set up a trade account.

Soapnuts sound good mumface; I might give them a go as we still have rash issues here.

I'm doing OK; tis good to be back in the fold . Today has been pretty taxing, but DH was in Lincs and went fishing to one of his old haunts and isn't home yet so I've had to do bedtime on my own. DD is soooo strong willed at the minute; she either doesn't listen, ignores me or does what the hell she pleases and is determined to feed and water herself with much spillage all over the kitchen and the fridge left open. My makeup is another area she feels free to help herself in. She was trying to paint her fingernails last night. Tis driving me bonkers.

My knitting empire is coming together; am sorting out licenses and playing around with my own patterns. Hopefully I'll have enough to list on folksy soon.

Hermya321 · 29/07/2010 20:38

Lacks Thanks for that.

Also I know I asked earlier in the thread about inserts, which I have saved. I'm now asking about reusable wipes, where can I get some nice ones from? Had a look and I'm a bit befuddled by the whole process. Oh well.

steph1512 · 29/07/2010 20:45

i went to poundland the other day and they do 6pks of baby flannels..in all different colours. Ive been using them as wipes

LacksDaisies · 29/07/2010 20:47

I have a brand new fuzzibunz changing mat and wipes set! the wipes are a t-shirt type cotton, and a couple of them are fleece backed. They are lovely but I never used them.

I've listed those and more on CNT....username is bumblebums.

treedelivery · 29/07/2010 21:58

Exciting knitting news Daisies!

I love those little flannels from the pound shop They never go crunchy in my hard water and dry in no time at all.

Can't seem to shift my last few magic-alls and a skirtie. Which is a bugger, as I need the £££.

Glad the soapnuts are a good thing. I hear very good things about them, but apparently not great n hard water. OUrs is harder than hard, it's Vinnie Jones, so I think they'd struggle.

Tbh, I'm starting to wonder how our laundry would fair if we used nothing at all, or a bit of soda crystals and a tiny bit of detergent.

When washer had a morning on the blink, I found out loads of stuff about my washer. From reading the manual! ....
Apparently the 'baby' programme uses heaps more water, is designed to deal with terry nappies, and uses heat in a different way [I bet it doesn't do a cold rinse like most washers do] to 'optimise the antibacterial agents of the detergent'. Sounds ideal! SO am using it! Shame it's taken me till now to realise......I just assumed 'baby' would be a more gentle wash.

Am such a dolt.

Am having Itti troubles, she is out wee-ing them. Has anyone used them on a toddler? They were ace on her as a baby, but now I find she has damp legs when I pck her up. Maybe it's so petite it gets pushed over easier, so her damp skin is exposed? But it shouldn't be damp, so I think she's soaking them.

I think she's already holdng wee, then having huge ones. Getting ready to potty train! Will sooooo miss my nappies

steph1512 · 30/07/2010 10:11

I love the flannels vertually dry out of the machine.

Funny you should say about the cycles i was looking at mine the other day and it has a similar baby one too only think is it only does a 800spin (usually 1600) so i have to put an extra spin on after but thats not really a problem.

Mmmm im wondering whether ordering a stash of ittis is such a good idea after all!?

Keep hearing of leaks etc Im really dissapointing as they are so gorgeous!

I found it kept ds really dry cokpard to the ME and he is quite a heavy wetter but maybe its because he is still small. He did explode yesterday and it had just start to come out of the edges got there just in the nck of time!

Ive got one pre loved pop in that i actually really like and cant wait for it to dry as looking forward to using again..but its not so pretty and quite bobbly..apparently they do this quickly.

My dd2 is also doing big wees and prob only two or three times a day..i just cant face potty training yet didnt find it a breez like everyone said it would be with dd1

MummyBerryJuice · 30/07/2010 22:46

Hi all. We're off on a last minute jaunt to London tomorrow so it will be a dispo's weekend for us . But may be just as well. Some of our nappies are starting to get a bit whiffy after a wee. I already pre and post rinse them at every wash and use a teeny, tiny bit of powder only.

We don't have a dryer and with the cloudy/rainy weather the last week everything has had to dry inside and since the heating isn't on it has been taking AGES. Wonder whether that has anything to do with the smell?

Any suggestions?

On a more upbeat note, I'm loving my nappies and am dying to buy some more (not that I really need any more ) so am looking forward to DS growin out of his medium itti's!

What arecthe bitti boos? Tried googling them ( perhaps I'm dense) but couldn't really determine the difference.

mumface · 30/07/2010 22:55

MBJ, bittyboos are a two part nappy so they need a separate wrap. I would love to try one but nobody in the uk stocks them, hoping to get one at the baby show in Oct.

We had a lovely day today at Twin Lakes. But came home to bad news. The second young family member this year in a coma, with intense brain swelling, suspected virus may be meningitis. Lets hope this one makes it.

Thanks Tree, we just can't believe it, after loosing T this year. My second cousin is 25 and has a baby a week older than Connor.

treedelivery · 30/07/2010 23:18

I sort of missed the thing with T, I'm sorry. I think I was on a mn break then. But if you want to talk/vent/need hugs I'm up with dd2 for ages yet.

mumface · 30/07/2010 23:23

My sister lost her 17year old daughter, in a car crash. Was very sad as they had to switch the machine off as her brain was so damaged. Am off to bed now as if I start, I won't sleep. See what tomorrow brings.
