Lol yes it is a bit of a dopey name but it does do as it says.. easy to use, like a dream!
Typical Americam name really.

octothechildherder · 06/05/2010 11:39

I like the name lol But then I like stuff like that anyway! I really want to try one.

At home today as Ted is poorly - he is now leaping around asking when lunch will be etc But he was sick so keeping him home.

Have been to courier, post office, doctors and to vote and cracking on with jobs at home - concerned cabin fever may set in!

mumface · 06/05/2010 16:32

Argh, my debit card has had to be cancelled as has been found in a list stolen numbers! So am having to sell an Itti to get paypal funds as my card was linked, for the sake of paying for a £1.50 bracelet off ebay
Luckily havn't had any funds go missing tho. It has made me wary about shopping on the net.

Thanks all for the dirty nappy storage suggestion - think I've been converted to the monkey foot wet bags - the designs are so lovely.

Not only will a bag not take up any floor space in our tiny nursery, but I'm assuming I?d be able to just open it enough to drop a nappy in, so would hopefully let less smell out into the room than if I was opening a pedal bin. (e.g. with our kitchen one we sometimes get a big whiff on opening it, if the contents are particularly smelly anyway...)

so thanks again

Babybots · 06/05/2010 17:43

Aghhh No Mumface! What a pain in the Bum!

Hattie - Enjoy wet bag shopping! They really are worth thier money, love mine, hmm actually need another! Yes you only need to open a tiny bit and bung nappy in quicky!

Bagpuss - Not tried sorry! Im sure some one has though

Had a very intresting and productive day here today!

Right better get on with dinner.

Salbysea · 06/05/2010 17:57

argh mumface, what a pain!

hattie - monkey foot bags are even better in real life than the look online

my fav is my guitar one

octothechildherder · 06/05/2010 19:22

Hattie - have emailed you (again! )

Ted seemed to pick up from being poorly somehwat rapidly this morning and if he hadnt been sick I would have taken him to school!

Am waiting for wet bags - hundreds of them Will be the bag lady again tomorrow! Very exciting though - the new patterns are lovely and have been busy picking for June too .

octothechildherder · 06/05/2010 19:24

Mumface - nightmare - two of my accounts had fraudulent transactions at end of last year - booo. Have invested in shredder! One of the reasons I like paypal and use it for site is that it is very secure and they act super quickly against fraud.

lol myjob

bagpuss · 07/05/2010 11:15

Morning!

Oh no mumface! Hope it gets sorted soon!

myjob, I used the size ones folded down too but the dts were so tiny that the wraps were huge anyway! The tots website does still have instructions so I think I'll give it a whirl although I still need to retrieve the nippa ones from the loft! Half are rainbow ones and from memory are a lot thinner than the unbleached so the dts shouldn't end up with huge bottoms in them .

Octo - am wondering whether I need to complete my set now with an extra large bag .

Hattie, you will very quickly learn that you can't have just one monkey foot bag - they have a habit of breeding I find .

Oh, btw, new pictures on my profile - esp for myjob and octo.

octothechildherder · 07/05/2010 11:22

Gorgeous!! Can I put it on the fan page? email me!

Thank you all! . Myjob, I know - 7 months , where has the time gone?

Have sent you an e-mail Octo. I missed out on your discount!

Now have 10 cotton tots in the washing machine. They are on their third wash as the machine was awash with suds the first time . My SIL gave me two of the nappies (circa 2002 I reckon) and I think they may be to blame but on the upside they are snowy white and look like new in comparison to the ones that belonged to ds2 . In addition to my tots treasure, I also discovered that I never need buy another motherease airflow in my life - it appears that we have rather a lot of them .

Who has seen the new econobum covers? What do you think?

treedelivery · 07/05/2010 17:51

bagpus!! Your profile is soooo cute! Am having a hormone rush

Those econobum covers look cute, but bewteen Ittis and magic-alls, and all the pockets, I can't really face going back to 2 parters ever. The idea of a great steaming wet nappy puts me off. Am such a wuss.

Am verrrrry excited. And in full postman stalking mode.

I have some totsbots liners on the way, whch is nice, but also these little lovelies. See that big red SOLD OUT?? That's 'cos I got em. Have drooled since Octo started doing them and have finally taken the plunge!

Took a bank loan to tip me over the edge which I got for garden overhaul not nappy buyng. Also got some wipes [pink spotty washable and Octo's disposables]. Soooo excited!

Thinking of having a destash, if I can muster energy to advertise and post. I need funds for playroom overhaul. Maybe my Bluberry One size and sidesnap, and a few others.

Airflow do breed though, it's true. So do fluffles. Like tribles in Star Trek but less brown

bagpuss · 07/05/2010 19:50

lol Tree! Lovely fluff too.

Myjob, in my defense my SIL did give me three of the airflows (again these look like new) and I had three large of my own, I also found two M/L ones too and a couple of rikkis. Mind you I would rather spend any fluff money on exciting things rather than boring practical stuff so its a bonus that I had held on to them all really.

I have a question - Where do cloth nappies go to die? I have several ailing specimens which I cannot bare to use on the dts but it seems silly somehow to bin them. Any ideas?

mumface · 07/05/2010 21:05

If they are still useable someone on here sends old cloth nappies to an orphanage in Africa, I think. Is it nappyshedsal?

Oooooo. My new TotsBots liners are here. Oh they are soft. I got 2 packets in the clearance at Fill your pants and I'm chuffed to bits. Free delvery too. Yay!

AND dd2's snuggle pants are here!!!! They arte a perfect fit. Yay. thought they felt a bit scratchy, but actually they are great. SHe climbed straight in, got her dummy plugged in and cuddled up with dad for a nap. Result!
Those chenile wipes are lush too, and the cheeky monkey ones are bgger and thcker then I expected. The wet wipes are lovely, they smell great and are thick. So I'm a very very happy customer.

Both orders arived n less than 24 hours!!

Only thing that am waiting for is a pre loved Itti from mn. Hope it comes soon or I hear from the seller.

Other nappy news is the ongoing stupidly good bamboozle. It's amazing. I'm not that in to 2 parters. In fact I don't like them. BUT I cover the whole thing in a grid of liners so she isn't in contact with the wet bamboo.

We put it on about 5.30 tea time. Then we completely forgot to change her till...oh...about 8.30 am this morning. SHe had done a morning poo too. Not a leak or even close. I tell ya, that nappy is good. Plus their wrap, it doesn't look water tight, but it sure is.

mumface · 08/05/2010 12:09

I agree, I think they are my favourite nappy and wrap combo atm. There are lots of stretchies and wraps going cheap as slight seconds from Totsbots on ebay too. I've been watching the bidding each night (saddo) and 5 packs of Easyfits and pocket tots are going for around £20 some nights.

treedelivery · 08/05/2010 12:25

f they had a staydry top layer of some sort I'd 100% on them. It's just the dea of the whole nappy feeling wet on her that holds me back.

I might try to get some fleece and sew in my own layer.
