Hello ladies, I can see that there are some new names on here since I was last on!

Rusmum - Thanks for the FB message, I'm alive! Thanks for noticing I was gone . Were you wanting some Itti advice?

Tree - How is Sapling, is she still suffering from colic?

I can see that some people are talking about leaky nappies. I have only ever had three leaks in my life from cloth, on was a back-splat in a Pop-In that I hadn't done up tight enough, one poo leg leak from a TB Easyfit that was given to me but isn't a good fit at the leg atm and the other was a poo leak from an UD that doesn't fit DD at all and I don't think ever will, it's cut all wrong for her shape but my mum put the money up for it so I don't feel I can sell it. I used to get poo out of the leg of BHs every time, hate the bloody things, but it was only ever onto the wrap, nothing can escape a good Airflow!

I use Ittis exclusively during the day and WNNN under wool for nights. I have 2 BBOS for car journeys and use Petit Dessous inserts in them which are utterly awesome, soooo slim but seriously absorbent.

swampster · 16/03/2009 21:54

Don't diss my fleece, man! A fleece Stacinator with a BBH is mu favourite night time combo.

ChocOrange05 · 16/03/2009 21:56

lollipop I am a new Itti user - love love love the loveliness of them and the fit it super slim which is great, my boy doesn't look like Jennifer Lopez anymore . BUT they are leaking wetness on the sides - he's done a massive poo in them so no problems there but they don't seem to be waterproof enough on the sides. Any experience or advice??

Right bought itti bittis and bum genius so next question is how do you launder these the intructions on the site seem quite alot pre rinsing then washing adding bleach etc, I thought all I would have too do would be a quick rinse then chuck them in the mmachine at 60 degrees??

lollipopmother · 16/03/2009 22:12

Chocorange - Is he soaked or is it just a bit of dampness on the edges of the front of the vest? DD gets that sometimes and it's always in a certain cut of vest, the legs seem to get between her skin and the nappy and actually touch the insert. I always put tights on underneath and then the vest but I suppose boys don't wear tights ... or do they? That's a puzzler, I've never wondered what boys do for tights, I'd be lost without them for DD.

lollipopmother · 16/03/2009 22:16

Ellielou - If you bleach your Ittis I'm afraid I am banning you from coming within 100 posts of me! That is no way to be treating an Itti, Jesus, I'm having palpitations just thinking about it!! Just wash them at 40 or 60 depending on how you like to wash, inserts can go in the tumbler but outers really don't need to as they'll dry in about 2hrs anyway. Don't put outers anywhere near the radiators as it's not good for them, inserts can go on an airer by the radiator although this will make them harder. The inserts do come up a lot softer if tumbled for 15 mins and then left to air compared to normal airing but I am too skinflint to use a dryer.

ellielou02 · 16/03/2009 22:24

LOL lollipop think it was the bum genius site that said bleach but wont need to do that to them either will I ?? Thanks for your advice though see told you I neede all the help I could get

ilovemydogandMrObama · 16/03/2009 22:24

Hmph! It's Napisan that gets me going!

If you must use Napisan, please please please just try it first on one nappy, and see how your DCs react. DD developed a terrible rash/allergic reaction when mil decided to soak the nappies

Personally, I like a bit of patchouli in my diaper bucket, but am going through a bit of a hippy phase

lollipop I have been known to put DS in tights on very cold days. I like to think I'm striking a blow for gender equality, although I'm sure he'll see it differently in years to come

ilovemydogandMrObama · 16/03/2009 22:33

I put DS in tights too! It was my solution to him constantly taking his socks off and chucking them away...

He looks like Peter pan

I have seen boy babies in tights many times. Its better than being cold!

lollipopmother · 16/03/2009 22:37

If I had a DS I wouldn't hesitate to put him in tights for the winter, DD is forever losing socks, totally can't be arsed with it.

mumoftoby · 16/03/2009 22:38

4 if it is a new style flexi wrap one that swampster mentioned then I would be intersted please.

I use fleece overnight too - tots bots and stacinator. Over either well boosted fluffles, bumhuggers, BBH or WNNN

thebluefoxategreensocks · 16/03/2009 23:29

Just saying hi to everyone!

Haven't got on very well with my Pop-in nappy! I personally don't like the feel of the inner/leg gussets of the outer shell - catches on my fingers (which are a bit rough/dried) and seems it makes Benjamin's thighs very itchy (he has eczema). He'll be fine and within minutes of the nappy being put on, he's scratching at the leg edges. Someone might be going to buy it off me later in the week, so I'd like to invest the money into something nicer! Wonder if I can find a secondhand large Wee Notions Night Notions??! They seem to go very quickly whenever listed for sale, but I'd love to try one for nights. My bumbles are ok but don't exactly love them - very bulky and not snug fitting on the legs (so we occasinally get him wetting down the leg holes when he wakes up in the morning!).

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 23:58

tights on boys, yup i do it all the time.
luckly they do packs of girls tights in pink, white and navey, good knows why i would never know what to put with navey tights on a girl...

but anyway they do tom well on cold days

4andnotout · 17/03/2009 08:12

mumoftoby it is the new style without gussets but it's not a flexiwrap, i thought they were only white.
Thenatty sorry havent sorted anything out yet, had a huge falling out with dp last night and looks like we may be splitting up

soon2befamilyof4 · 17/03/2009 09:01

Oh no 4. So sorry to here that. I hope you can work something out.

I am expecting lots more nappies in the post this week and next. Brand new I ordered the UDNN, easy peasy hemp inserts, fleece wipes, a tie on and the lil stinkies and preloved I have got a couple of BG, GK anytimes, a BBOS, Nature babies wraps for newborn, and a few other bits. I hope the postman brings me something today!

I have sent hubby with about 15 parsels today! feel a bit bad as he has to spend his break doing it and there is always a que! But there is nowhere to park and it isn't walking distance for me so if I go then it litterally takes all morning! And I would have to pay to park in the town centre, get DD in and out of bugyg/car etc. So annoyed they have closed down all local ones!

rusmum · 17/03/2009 09:37

i getting aome ittis preloved £9 each!!

and 1 BBOS £8

TheNatty · 17/03/2009 11:04

soon let me know when you get your easy peasy, mine still not here.
very annoying cos having to dress ellen around a HUGE bum in order to contain her mamouth wees.
ordered some other ones off ebay, bet they will be here first as well
free postage is one thing, but im doing stupid amounts of washing and drying in the mean time, so i would have rather paid the 2 quid!!

soon2befamilyof4 · 17/03/2009 11:51

When did you order Natty?

soon2befamilyof4 · 17/03/2009 11:52

Oh and mine didn't come today.

I did get a white BG and 2 gorgeous nature babies wraps for newborn - one lepard print and one lovely purple and pink patterned one. Hope they work!

AnnVan · 17/03/2009 12:12

4 just checking did you get my pp? I sent it as gift so you wouldn't get fees deducted. I messaged you my address on fb.

ChocOrange05 · 17/03/2009 12:14

lollipop its wet on the sides of his legs and it does soak through if I leave it on too long. Its a shame as I love them but I think/hope it might get better when he's a bit bigger as he is quite slim atm. And a boy in TIGHTS - haven't you realised by now I am a vain mummy!!

swampster · 17/03/2009 12:22

I think of Ittis as little posing pouches - cute as anything but wouldn't trust one for longer than two hours. And that's with the extra microfibre snappy.

soon2befamilyof4 · 17/03/2009 13:13

Lol swampster.
