honestly demanding food when there are nappies to be sold! what are they playing at

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/03/2009 16:15

I looked into getting bumhuggers but when I asked on CNT the general opinion was they are not that great for very heavy wetters. They basically said they are good, but not as good as say Upsey daisy night nappies or WNNN.

Natty - have you thought about using wool wraps for your little one? They allow some of the moisture to evaporate so they don't stay soaked all night? I have just bought some and the plan is to eventually use it at night with an upsey daisy nappy or a WNNN. You only have to wash them every week or 2 and then soak them in lanolin to keep them waterproof. Really easy though. I have just done it for the first time and when it is dry we are going to try it out in the daytime first of all as I don't have my night nappies sorted yet and for night time use you should lanolise them a few times first. BUT it should really help the heavy wetting situation.

I have just ordered my custom upsey daisy night nappy! YAY! Cost me £15 but if it does the trick it will be well worth it.

unfortunatly ellen has my skin, and cannot tollerate wool at all. my nan knitted her a beautiful set when she was born, brought her out in bright red hives, severe reaction like me. its crazy cos we are both ok in 100% cotton, which i thought was the same??

good idea tho. have tried fleece that just soaked through.

Oh I meant to say. I have actually got a bumhugger on the way from TLEs so I am going to give it a go but I think we would need a lot of boosting TBH. But probably better than what I have got at the moment until my proper night nappies are up to full absorbancy.

oh this is the new stuffable and removeable insert? the new kind of ellas house? thats the one i was looking at as with some hemp boosting i can see that being ok for us, shes not THAT much of a heavy wetter she will go thru that much material lmao

do let me know if you decided not to keep them once the other nappies are up and running, would love to take them off your hands

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/03/2009 19:32

Well I will only have the one, which I don't actually have yet! I swaped with TLEs. No idea if it is old or new style - didn't realise there was more than one style!

Just bought a preloved BBOS in zebra print.

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 19:57

lol soon you are so naughty. i just got three large hemp inserts and 6 small that fit into the large ones. DH not impressed i just charged his bank card with 15 quid, but i thought that was a bargin!

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/03/2009 20:05

I am going to order more hemp for easy peasey I think. I will wait and see what they look like when they get here. Everybody on CNT seems to think they are good though and they seem to know what they are talking about.

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 20:14

yeah i ordered some, but im not impressed how longs its taking to get here, free postage or not, id rather pay the extra.

if these ones get here first which i think they will i will be happy, they look better, might do me overnight!

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/03/2009 20:23

When did you order it? It has been the weekend so I didn't really expect mine yet. I think it was friday I ordered mine, maybe sat.

how do i remove this aargh

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 21:23

fleece isnt any good for me tho i have heard good things. i found that if she spent any period of time in the same position it would "push" through the wrap, and leave damp patches whereever she sat
so therefore as she is one of those people that dont move around in bed. (same as me) she was pushing through wetness to her sheets all the time.

might just be me, what works for some doesnt work for other

ellielou02 · 16/03/2009 21:23

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/03/2009 21:39

Natty - I am pretty sure fleece wraps are not meant for nighttime use for that very reason. I think they are meant to be good for during the day when baby is active.

ellielou02 · 16/03/2009 21:40

Thank you very much
