ilove - I will have a count up and see how many small nappies I have got as I might actually have enough. What sort of condition are they in?

I am going to sell my bambino mio wraps on ebay. I have lots of brand new ones and I did a search on there and they new ones seem to be selling quite well. If I can sell them all, I will have enough to buy some good quality night nappies for DD and possibly some more onesizes for when both DDs are in cloth.

How many nappies do you think I need for a newborn? Will be in sposies for the first few days till we get rid of the horrible tar poo and get home and sorted. But then hope to be in full time cloth?

TLEs - you gave me your toothache! How did you manage that through msn? You asked me if I wanted it and I said no thanks! Couple of hours later I am in agony! If you send me your address I can give the airflows to hubby to post tomorrow on his lunch break. I have another parcel that needs to go anyway.

Anybody know how many times bamboo inserts need to be washed before use?

4andnotout · 09/03/2009 11:13

soon if im being lazy i use them straight away and just change the whole nappy after an hour or two I think they should be fairly absorbant afer 2=3 washes

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/03/2009 11:54

lol Soon, i sent it through the powers that be lmao xx

will send addy now hun.

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/03/2009 12:41

Oh thats good 4. I will use today for daytime use and wait another wash or 2 before I try them at night (which is what they were bought for).

TLES - I got addy but have already sent hubby to the post office this morning. Are you in a hurry for the wraps?

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/03/2009 12:58

Actually, I think I have just sold all my kushies, so will have to go to the post office again anyway, either today or tomorrow depending on when she sends PP. Is that ok?

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/03/2009 13:11

Soon okies

drlove8 · 09/03/2009 14:08
  • hello everyone!, just had a thought..... why is it none of the dads/blokes post on this thread?, they seem quite happy to post on aibu and others.-but on the bright side DH has decided he loves dd4's blueberry& berryplush.... i was a bit naughty , and told him they were £10 each! , - ive got more comming so i dont want him to freak out because ive spent a small fortune on nappies for a toddler( very naughty me )
rusmum · 09/03/2009 14:23

my dp hasnt even changes one yet!! he wanted pampers!!

drlove8 · 09/03/2009 14:40

rusmum - this is what you do with DH then, ... give him the cost of a single pack(most evpensive way of buying pampers)...tell him how many nappies you need a week,(disposies need changing more as they stink),get him to work out cost per week, then get him to x52 for cost per year, then X3 for cost until 3year/training, then do the same for babywipes and nappy sacks and add tem all together......... and then sit back and watch whilst he suddenly thinks cloth is a fab idea and gets on with changing baba! -, mine coverted at the thought of extra beer money! lol

swampster · 09/03/2009 14:56

My DH likes washables for environmental reasons and he doesn't want to wrap his babies' bums in toxic plastic and gels. But he doesn't sit there stroking them or get excited about fluffy post - unlike some loons not a million miles from my computer. He happily changes any nappy that comes his way.

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/03/2009 15:12

My DH hasn't got the slightest idea how much real nappies cost - I have never told him and don't plan to. All I have said is they work out sooo much cheaper than disposables and that I am happy to do all the washing for them and after that he was fine and doesn't question it. At the end of the day, my DH smokes which is so much more of a waste of moneyy - i hold that against him if he questions anything.

My DD is currently wearing her BG and she has a builders bum!

treedelivery · 09/03/2009 15:28

HHi everyone.

Mad house here, but my ma has dd2 for a few mins while I catch up and then head out for 6 week check with GP. We are having a 'not only will I not be put down, I will be sick if you stop swaying' day with little baby Harriet. So that has it's challenges.....

Heading out in a bum genius stuffed with microfibre and boosted with 'my mum's own - a microfibre cleaning cloth wrapped in old fleece nightgown' TM patent pending.

Bambinex aio leaked this am, but it is on the large side and she power wee'd.

will catch up on the thread - but however asked yes am interested in fuzzi bunz. They mak egreat wraps! Haven't tried them in their official capacity yet as bit big. Bubba 9lb 12oz so getting bigger and more suited to nappy wearing! Bless her colicky boots.

drlove8 · 09/03/2009 15:28

soon- clever girl, smoking is such a waste!. swampster, i never thought about the toxic plastic, but the gel is inducing... have seen whats inside a disposable nappy after its burst, that minging gel was on my dd4's skin one morning( 12 hour sleep that night).one word- boggin..it seemed to stick to her and washing it off just made it spread everywhere....never again! at the crap thats in nappies(pun, lol)and people just dont know! cloth is what you see is what you get-

swampster · 09/03/2009 15:40

I used nicotine patches for a bit while giving up the demon ciggies - if the skin can absorb the chemicals in those tiny things in sufficient quantities to satisfy my nicotine cravings I dread to think what a baby's bum is absorbing when it is encased in dispies 24/7.

4andnotout · 09/03/2009 16:08

Dp knows how much all the nappies i buy cost but as i havent lost any ££ when i've sold them on he doesn't complain! He will change nappies in a blink of an eye and he even brags to his 'sposie loving family about our latest fluffy post

DD4 tried a fluffle easyfit today and pee'ed out of the leg holes Will have to use smallest setting next time and try to get it a bit tighter on the legs.

AnnVan · 09/03/2009 16:30

My DP is very good about the nappies. When I rst decided to use cloth (before DS as born) he said he'd keep a pack of pampers handy for when he had to chnge. Now he knows what napies we have and which are his favourites He says he prefers cloth to sposies. The other day he asked 'do the beehinds need a wrap?' find it funny that he knows what beehinds are! He can't grasp nappi nippas though he calls them 'grippers' (can use them though)

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/03/2009 17:50

Don't suppose anybody has any weenotions night notions or upsey daisy NN for sale cheaply do they?

Hopefully · 09/03/2009 21:35

My DP knows roughly how much all our nappies cost (I think I may have not bothered to inform him about the cost of extra inserts for the ittis, but other than that...), but he does get excited about using pretty nappies as well, so I don't think he'd mind even if he knew.
He definitely prefers cloth to sposies - complains on the odd time we have to use them because we're somewhere without a machine (e.g. my mum's at xmas when her machine broke).

Think I'm going to sell the 3 bumhuggers I have - after my initial hatred I'm actually liking the WNNN more, and I can see us getting more use out of it. Now I also need to buy more - I'll race you for them soon2be!
Going to have a clearout of the bumhuggers and bamboozles when I get home on thurs and can take proper stock of what we have, so I'll let you all know first.

Tree sorry you've still got colicky/sicky/amazing weeing baby (DS didn't leakout of anything for weeks and weeks), hope she improves soon!

treedelivery · 09/03/2009 23:10

DH knows what the nappies cost, but he's cool as it's all been done through here or used nappies website and he loves his ebay etc so he enters into the spirit of it all.

Will admit to using dispicables at night. her ladyship is so so hard to handle that we put one on around now and leave it there till the morning is well and trully underway. I haven't trusted the washables enough yet not to leak, and the screams we get during a clothes change make that unbearable at 2 am!! As she pads out into a better nappy fit think we'll be fine though. Might be leaving sandy's xs behind soon!!

She bawling very loudly now so off I go......boobs feel empty tonight so not sure how pleased she'll be with me!

soon2befamilyof4 · 10/03/2009 08:29

Tree - how have you found the sandys? That is what we were planning to use on DD2 when she is born in a few weeks.
