Hemp needs even MORE washing than cotton! I like Little Green Earthlets and Bambinex/Bambineo liners.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/03/2009 15:34

Don't know what Tots flushable liners are like, but I've always got on quite well with the Bambino Mio ones. Boots do lovely and soft liners, but you're not supposed to flush them, which seems to defeat the purpose, right?! I used paper liners exclusively for my daughter (fleece made her red) and have used fleece exclusively for my son (who oddly enough has the more sensitive skin in general & bad eczema!).

drlove8 · 07/03/2009 15:36

bambinex- thats the one they sell in boots, went to get some yesterday and shop was sold out! . have not heard of little green earthlets...... am going to check that out thanx for the help Swampster

wow, what a great site-.... motherease rainbows for £7.50...

rusmum · 07/03/2009 15:47

where??

i want some nice fleece liners- suggestions???

Also need M airflows as am short!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/03/2009 15:53

rusmum: Just need to find some nice/cute/funky fleece fabric, buy a half metre or so of it and cut up your liners!

Don't have any medium airflows to part with - I've got 4 which I'm keeping for bump. But I do have a Cottontail wrap in size medium - don't suppose that would be any use, would it? It's brand new. Same as here: www.thecottontailcompany.com/index.php?productid=102

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/03/2009 15:58

rusmum: Grab these while you can! LOL

2 bargain medium airflow wraps on ebay:

I've had quite a few ME wraps with the whales pattern, and they were far more faded than ones in pic there, but work wonderfully. So hopefully these are still good - cheap enough to risk it anyway!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 07/03/2009 16:15

rusmum, just get yourself one of these and you'll hav loooooooooads of liners and a blanket

bronze · 07/03/2009 17:52

May I ask you lot a couple of things seeing as you seem to be in the know

Yes? Oh good

Right I was wondering what the best folds were for boys. Only done girly folds before. To start with it'll be muslins while newborn then I have some of the ones I have no idea what they're called again but they're squares where the centre third is a padded layer.
I also have other fitted ones so the folds will be for those occasions when I've been disorganised.

swampster · 07/03/2009 18:37

Far too lazy to fold in my house these days but try these from Kittykins. I used to love the Bat / Chinese / Origami Fold.

soon2befamilyof4 · 07/03/2009 19:46

Bronze - sounds .
like you are talking about prefolds? If you go onto the Bambino mio website there are some instructions for folds on there.

I have some bambino mio wraps for sale if anybody is interested?

And 4 Nappy Nation shaped aplix nappies for £10 per set of 4

bronze · 07/03/2009 20:24

thanks people. I did mean prefolds. My brain has frazzled and I can't even remember simple things at the moment.
Kittykins site is good and will look on the BM site. I did look on nappylady but they seemed to be for terries.

mumoftoby · 07/03/2009 20:46

rusmum sorry to sound dim but would that fleece fray if you didn't bother to stitch/hem around the outside?

4andnotout · 07/03/2009 21:20

Evening all

No fluffy post today But did get some personalised dummy clips for dd3

Bronze Hiya i have no experiance of prefolds but i just wanted to say hi to a fellow clothie who is actually local to me

4andnotout · 07/03/2009 21:21

Oh and fleece wont fray

bronze · 07/03/2009 21:23

I love fleece precisely because it doesn't fray.

Sorry to butt in.

4 and not out- hello, thats very local for these parts. I'm pg with my 4th too though only ones a girl. Do you have anything to do with the playgroup there?

4andnotout · 07/03/2009 21:34

My dd2 goes to the playgroup and i take dd's 2.3.&4 to the toddlers session on a thursday afternoon. It is handy for most of us being in the school grounds as when it finishes we are in the right place for picking up the older ones. I love having 4, hoping to try for dc5 in december

mumoftoby · 07/03/2009 21:35

Thanks 4

Hopefully · 07/03/2009 22:14

Ooh, I have started to knit my legwarmers! Got some really nice knitting cotton in a peppermint colour (similar, but not exactly identical to peppermint ittis - hoping it will 'tone' nicely), and I'm going to alternate thick peppermint with thin brown stripes. Knitting a tube is darn difficult though, never done it before!

In other news, I've lanolised my longies once, so might pop them on DS tomorrow for a couple of hours before doing them again, just for the novelty of it.

soon2befamilyof4 · 07/03/2009 22:53

One question I have about wool - I know it is meant to let the nappy breath and therefore baby isn't so wet BUT if you then put a pop up vest and some trousers over the top - surely that stops that from happening? Sorry if that is a stupid question but I can't work it out? Was thinking about using my nice new woolies in the day for now until I get some night nappies - or have one for day and one for night.

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/03/2009 12:24

I am doing some dying today! I currently have in the washing machine some sandys, motherease onesize, onlife and some shaped terries with some purple dye! Will let you know how it turns out - I have never dyed anything before but wanted some nice colourful nappies!

Have got some pink dye too to use at some point. Will see how this load turns out!

swampster · 08/03/2009 15:28

How was your dying soon? Are all your clothes going to turn purple now?

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/03/2009 15:41

Where is everybody today? DD was up all night and I am shattered!

Have just dyed some nappies lovely and purple! Looks so much nicer than white!

Does anybody know how tots bots wraps will be with a newborn? Over ME sandys mainly and some shaped terry nappys and a few others? I was planning to get some small airflows but picked up some size 0 tots bots at the NCT sale yesterday - stupidly cheap. Think I paid £1 for 3 brand new wraps!!!! If I don't need to buy her any wraps then that is one less thing to fork out for (and then I can put any money raised from selling, towards some night nappies for DD1).

swampster · 08/03/2009 16:07

I have been using size 0 Tots - old style PUL and fleece wraps over XS Sandy's - they work quite well but you have to make sure the nappy is covered properly - it isn't an ideal fit, but it works pretty. DH doesn't like them though, he is a AIO man so I think I will be selling them off .

swampster · 08/03/2009 16:08

pretty well DOH!
