Swampster My dogs smell infinitely better than a (used) Fluffle

lollipop do send me your paypal details. Or I can send you a cheque? Either way, is fine. Oh, and apparently Angelina Jolie does 200 tummy crunches a day . Think I did 35 and started to actually feel my abdominal muscles, so stopped

Oh yes, my BBH is bamboo, it is what started my love affair with bamboo. And it was me that said Fluffles smell of wet dog .. that's on a good day though, they bloody hum when they're wet! I tried Fluffles twice, I was disgusted with them when they were wet, all that long pile all matted together

ILMD - You say you've boosted the BBH with fleece liners ... you don't mean that though do you?

lollipopmother · 29/01/2009 21:57

ILMD Woman, stop impulse buying! Try the bloody thing for a night first!!

As for Angelina, 200 is a piece of p*ss, I do more than that! Mind you though, you wouldn't know it. Oh, and I've only just started doing them ago, last time I was doing them I was 8st ... now I'm 10st so I have a few billion to go!

Hi! I'm new. Just introducing myself. I got sent over here from the parenting board. Didn't find this one before! Anyway, I'll browse around and lurk for a bit!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 30/01/2009 09:40

swampster: My BBH is bamboo - too afraid to try hemp, as never really liked it on the couple of items I've had of hemp before (tho obviously some people like it).

Anyway, quite impressed with the BBH - Benjamin was in it for 11 hours last night without any leaks. The only thing I wondered about is - why was only the front half of the nappy wet (and very wet) but the whole back half was totally dry? Would the back have eventually got wet, or is the wetness not transferring properly? I seemed to have a similar experience with a couple of bamboo terry squares once...seemed to get too wet for the front half (where there were a number of layers folded) but the other half was dry. In any case, no leaks and son slept well too! Think I just need to cut out some larger fleece liners to cover the whole area better.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 30/01/2009 09:51

lollipop DS was dry this morning after being the Beehind all night! The nappy was wet, but his bottom was dry! . Yes, I did add a fleece booster as the material, whilst quite absorbant was a bit, um, rough?

Am having 'issues' with paypal at moment. Are you on Google Checkout?

Ah, to be 8 stone again

rusmum · 30/01/2009 10:24

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! what happened to mn??????

swampster · 30/01/2009 10:33

I don't use fleece liners with BBH - the bamboo is pretty fleecey anyway and it is such a lovely, natural fibre (antibacterial, too) that it seems a shame to put yucky artificial fleece next to a bum. He goes a bit pinky and sore with fleece.

He's still fairly dry in the morning but I'm not sure if that's because at 2.7 he is peeing less at night? Also DS2 is such an infrequent pooer that it is very rare he poos in one.

I use both boosters with the big one folded in three and padding out the front of the nappy.

I think bamboo just absorbs liquid quite slowly, so the front, where most of the pee wind up, is wetter - it would spread all over eventually.

The only hemp nappies I have are a couple of BumHuggers - and I heart those!

Hi Quidditch, what are your nappy-weaknesses?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 30/01/2009 12:17

another night from heel with singing baby, but had stacinator on all night with BH, and despite 2 extra feeds in the night, all fine!

Hi Quidditch

Octothechildherder · 30/01/2009 14:31

I need a wool wrap - shorties would be nice - someone point me in the right direction please - have been hunting for days! Or just sell me one!

Boy/age 2/cute design (pref stripes)

AnnVan · 30/01/2009 14:52

octo a MNer has offered to make me a wool cover. Not sure if it would be shorties though, she says they look odd off but cute on. Need to measure little man's bum.

I'm supposed to be cleaning. Little man off with MIL and SIL. But I'm knackered. Between having a wide awake baby, and DP acting like a big baby, I've had a hideous night. Stacinator hasn't showed up yet. Am feeling decidedly less smugnow serves me right for gloating I suppose. Maybe I should email to find out if it's been sent yet.

lollipopmother · 30/01/2009 15:27

Sunflower Elizabeth has been up two times in the night for last three days too, our babies are far too alike!

ILMD Sorry i misunderstood what you meant, i thought you were trying to boost the absorbency with fleece liners, which obv wouldn't work, I used fleece with it too and was going to do what Rachel said and cut massive liners. I'll email you re payment if you want to keep it .

Rachel - BBH never all wet, nor WNNN after 12h. If you're worried you could put a fleece topped cotton booster in instead of smallest tongue just to instantly soak up as you would hemp.

AnnVan what's your DP up to, not being an arse I hope?

Quidditch - Love the name, massive HP fan here! Welcome to the thread, tell us your nappy stash then!

Octo Clothnappytree has a wool for sale board, it always seems to be large & XL for sale so would do you ok I expect.

Not liking the new MN at all, it looks so less professional than the last one.

lollipop maybe it's an age thing then..... just want some decent sleep.....

still waiting for my yellow itti... it shoudl have been sent last sat...... where is it?! and I think I might end up with 10 instead of the 7 I'd decided

right, need to puck uo courage to venture out in the freezing cold and get the washing in..... brrrrrr

AnnVan · 30/01/2009 16:56

Lollipop yes DP is being an arse. MIL is fab though, she came round at three this morning to help out, and only left at five. I know DP's having work stress, but that's no need to blow up at me when I'm trying to cope in the early hours.

swampster · 30/01/2009 17:03

AnnVan

[Proud mummy moment - DS2 just had his first ever poo on a potty

swampster · 30/01/2009 17:05

Looks like I've got far too many nappies if I'm only going to need enough cloth for one!

AnnVan · 30/01/2009 18:37

swampster - have another one??

My DS has started trying to sit up. He doesn't quite get there, so it looks like he's doing tummy crunches.

swampster · 30/01/2009 18:58

I think three will be quite enough for me, thanks - considering we only ever considered having two, (went through the mill to get the first one, thought second was a total fluke ).

treedelivery · 30/01/2009 20:49

I really want to catch up and chat but have to go to bed and never have time!! Motherhood eh? Been in newborn hell and general post delivery hormonal whirlwind, plus visitors, plus weekend away starting today [at ma's then on to Birmingham, about 5 hours from home!]

But bobbed in to say hello and thank you for all lovely comments and for reading my birth story. It's nice to think people know your story.

Itti is a confirmed leaky nappy, but not giving up - it'll be fine when legs fatten up a bit.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 30/01/2009 20:51

anyone tried this?

4andnotout · 30/01/2009 21:17
