Morning! I don't know why I'm so chirpy, I plan to do a 4hr walk today, did it on Tuesday with relative success (1 massive blister on my heel and three smaller ones elsewhere) but then I did go out in my new boots which was probably a bit silly!

Elizabeth has ruined everything! She is now rolling all over the place! She's gone from doing the odd fluky roll to 100% success rate in just a couple of days. Now I can't leave her anywhere because she's even doing it with her nappy on now!

ILMD - Did you use the BBH last night?

If anyone has a BBOS or a medium BBSS in cow that they'd like to pass on I am on the look out!

cyteen · 29/01/2009 10:41

morning am pleased to report a leakfree night chez cyteen, despite the Bumble being utterly drenched in wee. DP was a bit about DS laying in wet cloth all night, but it's no different to him laying in wet paper as far as i can see. presumably a fleece liner would help somewhat?

lolli how exciting that your lollipoppet is rolling, albeit less convenient. i have just enjoyed a 90 minute nap with my boy on the grounds that once he starts rolling i won't feel confident enough to do it anymore.

AnnVan · 29/01/2009 10:51

cyteen AFAIK the bumble is already fleece lined, so another fleece liner would not be good. (Apparently two layers of fleece makes a waterproof barrier, so you get leaks)
Lollipop Seb has only rolled once so far. Wel done to your little lady.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 29/01/2009 10:54

lollipop lol at "everything"!!

still no rolling here, but not lying either! she's becoming a pro on her walker though, while I sat her in there to get the washing out, she'd been all round the kitchen "collecting" hand towels and teatowels...

didn't get to try the stacinator properly, though when I took it off during the night it was DRY! but we had a night from hell, I'm pretty close to an un-dead this morning, about 5 mins after falling asleep last night, woke up by DS's crying, as he'd been sick all over the bed, so had to change the whole bedding, wash the floor/bed, and make it again, had to use sofa duvet. DD got woken up and wouldn't go back to sleep, eventually, as we were all almost asleep, DS was sick again, another duvet, mattress protector etc, pjs.... 3 loads of washing to do this morning, on top of all the others. DD hasn't slept all night, she's just been kicking blankets in bed with us and "singing", then filled her nappy (used a disposable as couldn't be asked going downstairs to get a clean one) so she got mess up to her armpits, so had to change her and eventually fell asleep feeding around 7am. Poor DP got up at 7 to finish fixing the tumble dryer before going to work and as soon as he left DS got up and came to wake DD up ...

4andnotout · 29/01/2009 10:56

Ok hope this doesn't sound dim, but what are BBOS and BBSS? Ahem...

AnnVan · 29/01/2009 11:52

Oh, and has anyone tried Nappy Nation Bamboos? I've seen pics and think they look rather cute. Any opinions out there?

4andnotout · 29/01/2009 11:55

blueberry onesize
blueberry side snap

ceb80 · 29/01/2009 11:58

I was wondering too annvan but I think they might be Blueberry One size and Blueberry Side Snaps.... anyone confirm?!!

AnnVan · 29/01/2009 12:12

ok. oh, got my replacement Teddies. They seem slightly different somehow, but can't quite put my finger on it. Impressed with babykind's efficiency though, they must have sent back as soon as they got them.

ceb80 · 29/01/2009 12:18

Yay I was right!

rusmum · 29/01/2009 14:08

annvan how many teddies you got??? i have 5 but got 6 more coming, also 2 of the bamboo baaambineos ( not sure on these) and 8 sandys.

still not sure what to use at night!!!

( I KNOW baby beehinds) but cant get any preloved!!

So what else?????

Ps what bumbles like?

ilovemydogandMrObama · 29/01/2009 18:16

Lollipop Hi - am going to use it tonight! Promise to report back!

Did you do a 4 hour walk?

An hour at the gym knackers me out -- I went yesterday evening which was good as wasn't in mood for (much) dinner....

AnnVan · 29/01/2009 18:58

Rusmum I have ten teddies, also have 8 of the Bambineo/Bambinex bamboos. I wasn't keen at first, but they've grown on me a little bit, so quite like them now.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 29/01/2009 21:11

so, who uses Baby Behinds? they seem to be the talk of nappy world at the moment! lol I bought 3 secondhand ones the other day and they came in the post this morning. I really like the look of them, and the bamboo fleece is very soft to touch, even though they're overall a bit stiff and very heavy (even when dry!). Trying one tonight on Benjamin - curious to see how it compares to the heavily stuffed Fluffles I've been using for the past few weeks. However...just wondering how long it will really fit him? He's only 28lbs and not exactly fat (rather average if not slim-ish for a nearly 2yo). He's wearing it on the biggest setting and just not sure it will last forever - esp as elastic in legs/waist is very tense. What have others found?

ilovemydogandMrObama · 29/01/2009 21:19

Rachel -- DS has a Beehind on at the moment. He has super skinny legs, and have boosted it with fleece liners.

Will see how it works in the morning!

swampster · 29/01/2009 21:27

I am the resident trumpet-blower for Baby Beehinds - I think it was me who started the current stampede so they are sold out everywhere . But I love them!!! They take forever to dry but that's just because they are so thirsty. And mine are still quite soft though not quite as fluffy as when new.

I'm using them on DS2 right now and he is 2.7 - they fit just fine. Looking forward to getting DS3's bum into them shortly after he finally makes his entrance into the world next week.

I found Fluffles quite disgusting to use - they hold on to smells (who was it who said they smell like wet dog - aside from me?) - and I really don't like artificial fibres next to my baby's bum - it is one of the reasons I prefer to use cloth rather than despicables.

Before I got my BBHs I was using at least one booster in the nappy and two between nappy and wrap at night. Started out using extra boosters with BBH then realised the two they come with do the trick.

Coupled with my fleecey Stacinators I am now in night-nappy heaven. Though I do still look longingly at Holdens Landing Bedbugs!

lollipopmother · 29/01/2009 21:30

Maybe you could get some extender tabs for it Rachel. I love my BBH, very efficient, I don't find it particularly stiff certainly nothing like hemp anyway. Very absorbent I think but DD only 4.5 months, certainly more absorbent than the EH-BH I had.

4andnotout - I bought one of our BBSS I think, a choc with blue spots in medium. I wish I'd got all of your stuff though, I love them! As it is though I only have two BBSS, 1 BBOS (another in the post) and some wraps which I can't use as I no longer use 2-parters.

ILMD - It wasn't 4hrs in the end, it went much quicker than I thought, only 2.5h I think. God knows what I did last time because I was sure it took nearly 4hrs! You're right though, exercise makes me lose my appetite a bit too, parents are round with pizza and I've only had three small slices, which is unheard of! Mind you though, I am on a diet and it's working really well so I'm loathe to fall off the wagon over a couple of pieces of pizza.

My Stacinator came today, it is ........ L~U~S~H! I can't wait to use it tomorrow (tonight she's in a Pop-In because the WNNN is drying), do I need to wash it or anything?

OP posts:
SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 29/01/2009 21:30

swampster next week already!?!? another nail-biting wait...

swampster · 29/01/2009 21:43

No bitings of nails - I will walk in to the hospital on Monday morning. When they can find time in their busy schedules, they will slice me open, have a rummage, and pull out a baby, and sew me up again.

With a bit of luck, I will walk out with my baby a few days later.

Yes, wash that Stacinator, if only to get rid of any residue from manufacturing and handling. If it is a fleece one it will be dry before you know it.

swampster · 29/01/2009 21:45

Are your BBH bamboo or hemp, Rachel? I haven't tried hemp but it tends to be crunchier than bamboo.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 29/01/2009 21:47

is that the medical definition?
