ClementFreudsGreatestAdmirer · 12/01/2009 13:52

I have to say thanks to everyone for this thread. I can't stop laughing. And the winner is...

Farmer Christmas.

PinkTulips · 12/01/2009 15:32

ds asks us to 'blow up my dinner' to cool it down he calls his sister 'yeah-yeah' even though he can say sarah perfectly well when he wants to!

dd calls the utility room the 'titty room' which makes me giggle

pagetti is what both of them call spaghetti

they mispronounce loads of things and i only correct if it's completely imcomprehensible as i've found they correct themselves over time anyway and i'm always so sad when they lose their baby words..... dd is amazingly eloquent and clear in her speech so the words she still gets wrong are even cuter!

Marthasmama · 13/01/2009 20:48

lifesaboxochoccies · 13/01/2009 21:21

On the first page mogtheforgetfulcat posted about her ds i find this amazing as my ds also used to call me 'mimi' instead of mummy, and has also had trouble with pronouncing c's so he also used to say 'tat' for cat and 'tar' for car ect! i just find this absolutely amazing as i didnt think there was any other children that had the exact same speech as ds! 'mimi' was something i have never heard any other children saying to their mothers except for ds!!!! Hes over it now though!!

Daffodilly · 13/01/2009 21:25

DD(2) also does 'mazagine'

russia bin is the rubbish bin (which I have now adopted myself)

And my fav - "at the mo-note" for "at the moment". Usually "Mummy I'm busy playing lego at the mo-note"

pinkem · 13/01/2009 21:26

Gloves are Glubs
Trampoline is Tramboline
Boots are Books
Helicopter is Helitractor
Caterpiller is Piller
Motorbike is Mokarbike

We have decided to keep Glubs, and Helitractor!!

fryalot · 13/01/2009 21:26

dd2 for some reason can't pronounce "mayonnaise" it always comes out "mezzenave"

and she says "abley" instead of "able to" which is quite sweet

fryalot · 13/01/2009 21:26

oh, and an umbrella is an "underbrella" and a trampoline is a "jumpoline"

both of which make more sense than the real word if you think about it...
