she also calls clouds clowns

notsoteenagemum · 23/01/2009 21:16

Pomic = Comic
Gi-Gi-a-Pooh= Winnie the Pooh
Mimet= Minute
Sumbagetti= Spaghetti
Magutiar= Guitar
Twisters= Nostrils
Kneepits for back of knees

All these have stuck even though they know the proper names

I have been meaning to come back to this thread all week. When dd was 2 and three quarters, she would tell any one who asked that she was 2 and a tortoise.

DD calls DS her "Sister"

Then Ds gets annoyed and she calls him her "Budder".

meringues are remangs
spaghetti is pussgetti

Portofino · 27/01/2009 10:41

Crispy cracklers - for Christmas crackers

whomovedmychocolate · 27/01/2009 10:45

"Muddy cat" has to be one of my favourites (quite accurate at this time of year).

I think she means 'puddy cat' or even 'pussy cat'.

Stayingsunnygirl · 27/01/2009 10:46

We had remangs and bisgetti, ChippyMinton - this thread is really bringing back the memories!

Lionstar · 27/01/2009 10:52

spinspinsugar, not quite but my DD calls the remote control the Fat Controller!

The doorbell is the 'ding-door'

And snails and snakes are used interchangeably for either animal.

She struggles with 'L' so cousin Billy is 'Bibby' and she often refers to DP as 'sibby-bibby' (silly-billy)

brightongirldownunder · 27/01/2009 10:52

I shouldn't be proud of what DD (21m) said today, but actually considering she was trying so hard I am.
we went to Sydney aquarium with a friend. DD loves it there and introduced friend (18m) to:-
Der buggers - the bugs
fucks - frogs
Pisses - fish
and the penguins she called what sounded very much like "wankers".

Lordy.....

duchesse · 27/01/2009 10:54

my son had a fair number of hilarious mispronunciations, some of which we still remind him about now (he's 15 btw)

bamato for tomato

p'cola for coca cola (NOT that he was ever allowed any, you understand...)

bakshish for biscuit (we found that one hilarious as we bribed him with biscuits sometimes)

jamwich for sandwich

shish for fish

There must be others

Stayingsunnygirl · 27/01/2009 10:55

Ohh brightongirl - those made me laugh out loud! Such funniness is not good for a woman whose pelvic floor has the strength and elasticity of a wet paper bag!

brightongirldownunder · 27/01/2009 11:02

Sorry stayingsunny. I'm still recovering from it all to be honest.
God knows what the mum of DD's friend was thinking. Why were they all swearwords?
More importantly, penguins = wankers...?????!!!

PlumBumMum · 27/01/2009 11:05

My ds 5 calls instructions for toys
constructions rather apt for some of his transformers

Stayingsunnygirl · 27/01/2009 11:13

It's ok, brightongirl - better the laugh and the tenalady moment than no laugh!!

Could you find a book with pictures of penguins, bugs, frogs and fish, and video him talking about them - it would be a lovely one to show his first girlfriend.

brightongirldownunder · 27/01/2009 11:17

Oy stayingsunny - I've a DD! At least last time I looked I thought I had....

Stayingsunnygirl · 27/01/2009 11:18

Ooops - sorry brightongirl.

Memo to self - check post before posting.

skay · 27/01/2009 17:28

Recently DD has started saying
"My Daddy is my Daughter"

Not sure what she means by this one, but it's too funny to correct.

MaryBS · 27/01/2009 17:37

Veggibles and vilnilla (= vanilla)

becstarlitsea · 27/01/2009 17:44

Brilliant brightongirl, that's so funny!

My favourite of DSs is the way he uses a cumulative pile of words for emphasis. For instance, 'and all and both and together' as in "Let's sit and all and both and together and have a little chat." and 'I want a huge and huge and huge and big bit choklit. And huge and big!' Or my favourite of all 'I love you and with love and love and love and love and all and both and together with you.'
