College, Uni, OU or anything else. How's it going? The good the bad and the obscure.

Oh wow sounds really great. Shall be great if it all works out well! And I'm sure you'll do well in your essay and exam as well :D

Yes, be great to hear from everyone else!

tiredemma · 24/06/2009 20:12

Can you believe that you will soon be 2ND YEARS??

Im about to finish Uni (in 3 weeks) its flown by, so so fast.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your courses.

tammybear · 24/06/2009 22:02

Oh it's scary! My DD will be in year 2 when I start my 2nd year, so she keeps saying we're like in the same year lol.

But I got my official grades today. Throughout the year I received 4 A's, 3 B's and 1 C. So slightly better to what I had been told previously. Very pleased

Hoping to just look forward to the summer holidays now!

tiredemma....I bet you are glad to be finished, eh....no matter how one generally ejoys their course...getting to the end of it will be such an achievement.....
I know how fabulous I felt when I finished my nursing exams and had that piece of paper in my hand saying I was allowed to use the title Krankenschwester (Nurse)....

tammy...well done on your grades...and funny, my ms will be year 2 aswell next september and thinks it's funny we are in the same year, lol....

well...I am not doing well with my revision...t just isn't sinking in at all...and I seemed to have lost my ability for short term cramming , sigh...I so gonna bomb that human health exam...sigh...keep thinking that a re-sit won't be the end of the world...lol....but would hate to spoil my generl grades...done so well so far...

tiredemma · 25/06/2009 17:50

Krankenschwester is the most amazing word for 'nurse' that I have ever heard

FairLadyRantALot · 25/06/2009 19:42

....sounds more impressive than it actually is, lol...

FairLadyRantALot · 26/06/2009 16:56

Well....my first year has now come to an end, well unless I have failed the Essay or the Human Health Exam that is, and than I have to resit those for the 18th August....

not got a great feeling about the Human Health exam, tbh....

I feel now, completely deflated and just empty....I suppose I will get into the mood for summer once I know my results....either way....

well....so far I have now an A and a B as final marks....will find out the final grade for the other 2 modules once we get the results back for this one....

anyway.....how is everyone else feeling about finishing their first year?

tammybear · 28/06/2009 10:45

I'm sure you've done fine! Got my fingers crossed for you. I felt a bit like that after, was just itching to know my results. I keep looking on our portal up to 5 times a day to see if they had been posted yet.

But now I'm ready for the summer. Looking forward to it. Got a list of things I need to get on with that I haven't been able to do previously, and will probably still not get round to I'm sure lol.

FairLadyRantALot · 01/07/2009 16:13

went to meet with my Educators today and had a walk around the 2 wards my next Placement is on....really my looking forward to my Placement
As the Placement is at the same Hospital site as my last one, I went to say hi....there wasn't many people there...but it was lovely to see those that were, and it felt like I never had been away...
also was able to catch up with one of my favourite patients and it was so brilliant to see how much movement the guy had regained and stuff

tammybear · 06/07/2009 18:24

Aww that's great news! I'm glad you're looking forward to it

FairLadyRantALot · 11/07/2009 10:52

am in a state of shock.....I have just found out my Human Health Exam Results....I got an A-....how the feck I did that I have nooooooooooo idea....must have guessed those mental health questions right or something like that...lol...wohoo

LollipopViolet · 15/07/2009 16:13

Well, I got my final grades a while ago, our grades go from 1-15, 1-3 is a fail.

I got: 4, 6, 7, 8, 10 and a 12! I was so pleased with those last two!

Am looking forward to second year, more filming of hockey, more freedom in terms of module briefs...more work but I can live with that.

I go back on 21st September to help with induction week (am a student mentor!) then start properly on 28th September. And....I intend to finish my nasty call centre job at the end of August so that I get a little bit of a holiday, or may end sooner depending.

FairLadyRantALot · 16/07/2009 07:48

Lollipop!

Well, I got my Essay grade and overall grade for the module...
the Essay is a D at that, as I thought I wrte a goodish Essay....it makes no sense....

But as I had a A+ in my first part of the work, I still got a B overall in UOB....
bit disapointed with teh D...and think I will make my way up to Uni to get the Essay, as I like to know where I gone so wrong

LollipopViolet · 06/08/2009 22:37

Come on everybody! I've started the new Second Years!! thread for us in preparation for September! Time to pack all our stuff up and move out of halls into rented houses (well, all my mates are, I live at home). Come on, don't be shy

tammybear · 08/08/2009 19:38

Well done FairLady!!! Wow you must be so happy with the A-! (sorry for late response!) Sorry about the D though. It sounds like a good idea asking.

Well done LV!! Have just posted on that new thread. Doesn't it feel weird knowing the second year is almost started!
