College, Uni, OU or anything else. How's it going? The good the bad and the obscure.

No, a treatment is a film/script idea in story form. I've done one, because it's the only idea I'm liking, so at least got the work done in part.

FairLadyRandySlut · 10/02/2009 09:32

oh right, lol....thought it would be a bit odd if you had to do stuff about treatments...

tammybear · 11/02/2009 22:11

WOOOOOOOOO Fairlady, that is amazing!!! You must be over the moon! And good to hear you don't have to do the presentation in front of 80 people. That is a bit terrifying!

LV, hope you have finished your treatments. Were you able to come up with a second concept?

Today I had my tutor that I spoke about before. But apparantly today he says that I'm one of the few that did pretty much everything that was needed to be done. But he did say he was marking the work this week, so I'm presuming he has marked mine and realised he was wrong. But we find out our provisional grade after reading week (can't believe it's come by so quick!). I'm hoping for at least a B. If I don't, I'm going to speak to him about it, and make sure he's not just talking out of his arse! Lol.

tammy....that is good news...and am crossing all I have for you to have a B or better
as for me...yeah, I am pretty chuffed to bits...I mena, I am not a brainbox or anything...so, this is amazing...

Got my Tutor visit tomorrow...well..weatehr permitting and all that, of course...
had supervision today and Educator still happy wiht me, also told me, that the Head of Department was singing my praises

I might be able to get involved in some projects...and I might be offering to see them through...be a good experience, etc...
one is, about a flexible working hours proposal, and my Educator asked if I want to do a Patient questionaire...
the other is writing/researching evidence based treatment protocols which would then be used across the trust...
will definetly help with this whilst on Placement...but like I said, would be nice to keep involved...be a good learning experience...and well...looking at the future...it might not be such a bad idea

how is everyone else doing?
Notalone, still liking your Placement? Are you able to do lots?
I was able to get even more involved with it all today...and also starting to get to know some patienst and it is lovely when patients are really happy to see ya

JDB...how you getting on? You on Placement again?

LollipopViolet · 13/02/2009 13:48

I wasn't able to get a second idea going but the lecturer thinks the one I did could be great if well written He was BAFTA nominate (short film) so big

FairLadyRandySlut · 13/02/2009 19:11

well done you!

I had my Tutor visit today and it was fab....my Educator sang my praises, lol and I returned the favour
Was able to answer the questions she asked and stuff...so, all good I think...

LollipopViolet · 16/02/2009 11:45

I did my work experience last night. Awesome, absolutely amazing night! It went well and we won 6-1 so 11-3 on agregate!! I'm definately going to some more games to do crowd cam!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/02/2009 21:09

sounds good lollipop

tammybear · 28/02/2009 00:14

Fairlady, excellent

LV, glad you had a great night doing work experience.

I got some of my grades back today. Not the ones I was expecting to get, but two of the biggies! It was for the big project I mentioned a while back that I handed in. I got an A2 for it. Was sooooooo happy. They did say they did think about giving me an A1 but one of the other examiners thought it was too generous, but you know what I'm happy with that! But with all my other work, I got two A2s so I am extremely happy right now

How is everyone else at the moment?

FairLadyRantALot · 02/03/2009 22:53

Well done you that is really brill

My Placement is going really well...can do so much, etc...!
Got to write my casestudy up over the next 2 days....hope I am on the right track with it...!
And I think I may have come across my dissertation topic....I think I am going to do it about teh use of miirrorboxes...well, a lit review about it....think it would be really interesting...!

How is the rest of you?

Notalone, how is the placement going?

JDB, you on Placement again?

tammybear · 07/03/2009 18:57

Thanks. Apparantly that's 1st class honours, so very excited! Should find out another result end of next week. One of our tutors refuses to let us know til the summer. Tut.

Glad to hear your placement is going well FairLady! How did your case study go?

Question about student loan, when working out the income for DD, does tax credit count? I can't remember what I did last year, except for maintenance payments I get. Any one know?

FairLadyRantALot · 08/03/2009 20:57

Casestudy went really well...my Educator gave me some hinters, but said that all in all it was really good!

No idea about the student loan, sorry!

LollipopViolet · 12/03/2009 20:08

Gaah been sooo busy what with projects due in and filming ice hockey games in my spare time, oh and work. Anyway, we're gonna be in the local paper about our last film, and I've got an idea for my next one now.

Basically, I can't drive due to sight issues, and everyone says it gives you freedom. I disagree, I think it traps you even more, what with all the signs, markings and roundabouts etc. So, film a load of them, and make a soundtrack out of traffic noise and noises made in a car, vents moving etc.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/03/2009 18:01

well...I could not be wihtout a car...couldn't do Uni/Placement, getting to Inlaws would be impossible, going to appointments could be problematic....etc...

LollipopViolet · 13/03/2009 19:47

Oh I know, this is purely my perspective/opinion in film form lol

FairLadyRantALot · 13/03/2009 20:05

lol...

FairLadyRantALot · 26/03/2009 22:27

Where are you all?
Well, am in study leave at the mo....Placement finsihed last week Friday and not back at Uni until the 20th April.
We have got a Learning Package to do...and have not looked at it, but my friend told me what it is about, and I think I have sort of already done the task, as I written a 2000+ word Reflection on my Placement for my Educator and the Learning Package is all about Reflecting on Placement

Have been cleaning this week and still plenty more to do....want to really declutter and stuff....as it is needed...

How are you all?

LollipopViolet · 27/03/2009 09:37

Nearly got kicked out of uni Basically went out with some mates Wednesday, got home, checked emails and there was a form we needed to fill out and hand in yesterday. I was working 10-6, cue a mad dash into uni to drop the form off before work. Phew! I've told work I'm not doing Thursdays in term time now, and they know why.

Project is going well, gone very experimental.

FairLadyRantALot · 29/03/2009 15:33

oh dear.....glad you were able to divert disaster....

glad project is going well...

LollipopViolet · 31/03/2009 16:19

Work've still put me in for this Thursday though And I failed my optional exam today, got 75.58% and it was an 80% pass mark

FairLadyRantALot · 31/03/2009 21:38

sorry to hear about you failing your exam...will you be able to take it again...

LollipopViolet · 31/03/2009 23:41

Yeah, but it means finding another £54 which is annoying. I wanted to pass first time cos my parents gave me the money, so feel like I let them down in a way.

FairLadyRantALot · 01/04/2009 09:50

you have to pay for Exams

LollipopViolet · 09/04/2009 21:11

Yeah, the exam was an optional thing to boost my CV. I'm still pretty gutted tbh.

Anyway, new issue!

I foolishly decided taking a call centre job while doing a v. practical but also v. stressful media production degree was a good idea.

My mental health is shot after only 7-8 weeks. My optical health is suffering, I'm getting lots more eye strain type headaches, and I get a brick in my stomach every time I think about having to go into the rotten place. I'm trying to get transferred to another job.

BUT, it's going to be left to Occupational Health to decide what job because they need to make sure I'm safe (sight wise). So goodness knows what I'll be doing soon. I hate my job I'm the only fixed term person too so get abused basically, in terms of working EVERY weekend, when everyone else does 1 in 4.

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 19/04/2009 11:32

Oh dear about the call centre Job....you are the exact reason why I always try t be nice to people that cold call...because I feel so sorry for the people in that line of work...doesn't stop me being irritated, too, though...

Well....tomorrow will be my first day back at Uni since before Christmas....feels weird, lol....I so enjoyed my placement and would ratehr go back there, lol. Well, I try to console myself that 1 term isn't all that long and that after Summerbreak it's back on Placement....wohoo
Done the last few days my study that I should have done over the past few weeks, lol...luckily the Learning Package was all about reflection, and as I had written a reflective piece about Placement, I had sort of done it...so...that was good
Still have to finish of my Case study properly....but we still got a bit of time before we have to present it...
Yesterday I took my Kids to softplay and took also the umen Health Work book and my Anatomy Book and worked there...at least the Kids got knackered out

Anyway, wonder how the rest of you lovely people is getting on....come on...we need updates on how your courses are going
