I thought it would be fun to share those little gems here.
Mine recently rubbed my pregnant belly and said, "Baby!" Then, without missing a beat touched my boob and exclaimed, "Booby!" 😵‍💫
And: while I was using the toilet came over to me, patted my leg and said, "Good job!" 👏

Got any to share? 😊

@Cuwins Limes? Has she has lime sweets or anything? Slime? (If so, I suggest continuing to not understand her.)

It could have been slime which she does like but we would say 'lines' when she says it then she says 'yes' so I don't think it's a pronunciation issue

Well that's a puzzle then...🧐
I'm trying to figure out what Elephant 93 is over here. 🤷‍♀️

I like that one! Any chance it has to do with Paddington?

When I picked up my DS1 from nursery I always used to say 'here we go'. I have this weird possibly ND thing where I have to follow with an advert or song lyrics. This would trigger Jilted John (song from the 70s). It was called 'Gordon is a moron' (very wrong) but DS1 used to shout from his car seat 'Gordon is not a moron, Gordon is a train!'

Every time we see a bus DD2 says, "I saw a bus full of bunnies!"

Don't know if anyone else had that book (Bunnies on the Bus) via Bookstart, but it's definitely the Bookstart one both my children liked best - we actually ended up buying the sequel!

Reading this really helps me to understand why my DS is considered "ASD". He never did any of this stuff, because he didn't really talk. The odd thing is that I've now taken him out of school aged 14 and he's starting to do these developmental stages, which is so wonderful to see.

Today he said "I am watering the ferns" and "I am putting a wash on." and he did those things, and I was really so proud of him.

Reading this thread makes me think that I must listen harder and enjoy these things that he says. I feel under so much pressure to do GCSEs with him, and I think it might be better to enjoy seeing him go through this early childhood development, now that he's got there.

I will listen harder tomorrow.

"My turn now." (DC hogging turns in a game with me)
Can it be my turn please?
(DC thinks)
"No, thank you."

Both polite and rather rude, simultaneously. How British.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 30/11/2024 08:23

DC has taken to walking up to me with one of my books, a copy of Crime and Punishment. opening it up and asking me to confirm an appointment: Okay, so it says your "pointment" is at 11:45.
I respond with either a yes, or a no and say a different time. If I do the latter, DC responds with, Yes, I see it here. 🤷‍♀️

Havoc: I have star power. Baby has star power. Grandma has star power. Mummy, do you have star power?
Me: Hmmmm...
Havoc: Everyone has star power, mummy.

DD does not like Father Christmas and the other day was finally able to answer the question about why not.
Answer: 'don't like his fluffy bit'.
Apparently that's his beard 😂

Mumtobabyhavoc · 17/12/2024 06:40

@Cuwins I can't convince Havoc to go for a Santa pic.
Has also said doesn't like Santa. 🤷‍♀️
Is also saying, Bodily autonomy, mummy.
(although, I have taught that, it's just now being used) 😂

Not so much what DC themselves said, but the situation was funny. DC can speak several languages to various degrees and was doing a meet and greet thing at the door of a shop, chatting with everyone who came through but switching between languages. These are mostly languages most people locally don't speak (Arabic, Punjabi, Farsi).

A woman commented disparagingly that DC's "a bit old to be babbling, is something wrong with them?"

I smiled and said "That just wasn't in English..." Just as DC burst into 'Frere Jacques'... "That's French, though."

Scirocco · 28/12/2024 15:16

Today, DC gave a step by step commentary on our visit to a public toilet, complete with a round of applause and a "Well done Mummy!".

We were out with a family member of similar age, who has a track record of running off. Unsurprisingly, they ran off. DC sighed, facepalmed and sighed "Not again".

Cuwins · 28/12/2024 16:01

Seems we have finally solved what the 'lines' DD wanted from Father Christmas was.... a height chart! Like Bings grow lines!
Unfortunately as we have only just discovered this Father Christmas did not produce.

3.5 yo likes to go "to the shops" (riding his scooter into the kitchen and back to living room). Usually it's to get butter for his french toast, but recently he's been going to the shops "to get some organized" 😂😂😂

I could do with some of that!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/12/2024 20:27

@Cuwins I had to scroll back to reming myself of the convo. Now that you solved the "lines" mystery maybe you've got an idea for a birthday?

@Scirocco you're little one has some gems! I like the visual of the face palm! ☺️ And re "well done"... it's the little things. 😂

@Shityshitybangbang I love that one! (And your name). ☺️

@UnravellingTheWorld very smart! Sounds like dc has put together where things come from. 😀

Thanks for keeping the thread going everyone. 🤗

Havoc calls tomatoes potatoes This morning we were playing "restaurant" and Havoc asked what I wanted. I asked for a salad with tomatoes. Havoc repeated back, potatoes. I corrected and got a jumbled version, tobatoes, tonatoes, po-something mumbeld... 😂
