Been on hold 20 minutes so far. Hopefully get some info from them. Thank you!

baublewobble · 01/06/2023 15:43

Over an hour later. I was wrong and she has mid rate care and low mobility buy backdated to when I called the second time. (First time they sent the wrong forms)

Awarded until Jan 2025 which is a huge weight off my shoulders.

Just applied for carers online and it states 6 weeks for a decision but could be longer

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 01/06/2023 16:49

@baublewobble mine was done in a week and so was my partners when he applied to be my carer as I'm on pip so it doesn't take that long I'm waiting to hear back off uc about dla element backpay so god knows how long that will take they said they can't give me a time frame because it's dealt with by a different department xx

@Mumto2sengirlsxx do you get lwrca payment?

baublewobble · 01/06/2023 17:17

I don't get UC although I am about to apply and see if we are eligible. Hopefully carers doesn't take too long although I am just chuffed my daughter will get what she needs now

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 01/06/2023 17:28

@Minnie83 yes I do hun... my pip is up for renewal next year so that's fun I have so much anxiety about it I'm agoraphobic so my partner has to deal with school runs etc so he has to be here... I've just received my letter for confirmation for my daughters dla supris3d really I know other people are still waiting for theirs a month letter xx

Minnie83 · 01/06/2023 17:57

@Mumto2sengirlsxx I thought you lost that if your partner claim carers x

Soph2345 · 01/06/2023 22:47

I still havent had a decision yet for my son, I've obviously had a couple of letters(scan date and the sorry letter about them looking at claim). Have you got to wait for a decision before claiming carers or can I do it now with me having dla ref number?

Minnie83 · 02/06/2023 00:32

@Soph2345 wait for decision as it asks u what rate has been award

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 02/06/2023 03:24

@Minnie83 no hun I can still receive the LWRCA (if that's what it's called I forgot) because its for me and then my partner receives carers and universal credit carer element, we lose most of the element because he claims carers but we don't mind claiming carers gets him his class A national contribution which is better than what he would get with uc element only... the woman who did my assessment for the LWRCA actually helped with my pip as while checking my doctors records she found illnesses my doctors never told me about wow!! Shocking to say the least! Xx

Minnie83 · 02/06/2023 08:16

Ah ok I thought u could only claim lwrca element or carers element for the same person x

Minnie83 · 02/06/2023 08:19

@Mumto2sengirlsxx yeah iv never had problems with pip, but to get lwrca was a fight tho x

Minnie83 · 02/06/2023 09:56

Anyone know how long this MR takes? I'm inpatient 🤪

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 02/06/2023 15:37

@Minnie83 no cause its me claiming the element not him and then he claims carers so it two separate claims for us both on the same claim if you know what I mean... I had no issues in getting the uc element and I was shocked when I was awarded first time with no arguments with pip cause I know that's rare!! Have no idea about the MR have you submitted it now? Xx

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 02/06/2023 15:37

@Minnie83 says online they don't have to stick to a time frame for a MR and can be several months!!! Wow!

Jay53 · 02/06/2023 18:13

@Minnie83 my MR took 2 weeks.

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 02/06/2023 18:19

Got my letter today scan date was 5/5/2023 going to take till august isn't it? Sad

Minnie83 · 02/06/2023 19:38

@Jay53 I only requested MR yesterday though so hopefully I will get decision next week lol ( wishful thinking)

Minnie83 · 02/06/2023 20:53

@Jay53 how long u looking at with your appeal

MammaLBlue · 03/06/2023 07:42

Hi all :), I’m new here! Just wondering how long it took people to get a decision. My scan date was 4th April so I know my longest wait is middle of July 😫! Currently on week 8! I got rejected the first time around because apparently I didn’t have ‘proof’ but I have this time around and they have asked for birth certificate for me and my daughter so I’m abit more hopefully but still nervous in case of another rejection 😩 x

Minnie83 · 03/06/2023 08:24

@MammaLBlue same happened to me I'm going through MR at the minute. I mean it must be to difficult for them to request the evidence, from gp or school etc.

MammaLBlue · 03/06/2023 08:31

I don’t really have much evidence to be honest .. I never seen a doctor just got referred straight to Pediatrician from health visitor as my daughter is only over the age of 2. My daughters Pediatrician sent me a letter out with permission to use his notes as said I should be entitled to dla but am not exactly hopeful 🥲

Minnie83 · 03/06/2023 09:12

@MammaLBlue ah ok I believe under 3 is extremely difficult to get award for 😬

MammaLBlue · 03/06/2023 09:14

That’s what I was thinking, I only did it because my Pediatrician said i should do it because she needs a lot of extra care 😩

Minnie83 · 03/06/2023 09:18

@MammaLBlue have you asked health visitor to write supporting evidence
