I'm not sure why they asked for it I dont know if it's because his age (2yo). I was confused when I got a letter, i asked my sister as her child gets dla and she said she never got asked for it.

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 24/05/2023 10:53

Well just got through to deal didn't receive a text so my heart sank when they said a decision has been made but turns out my daughters been awarded!!!! I'm absolutely over the moon @

Lollypops88 · 24/05/2023 12:03

I am on week 18 still waiting for a doctor to sign some documents she has had the letter for 2 weeks nearly and ovs still not been signed so worried he will be declined once it gets back to the dla even tho hes in special provision for school

@Lollypops88 I can't imagine you receiving a decline result if he's in special provision hun they obviously have the evidence your doctors are holding up the process and hopefully that's done soon so your wait can be over xx

Lollypops88 · 24/05/2023 16:48

@Mumto2sengirlsxx i hope so i never applyied before i didnt actaually no he wss entitled to it hes 11, you no how it is you get so used to just life with a child with additional needs it becomes normality, fingers x it will be sent by the end of the week, i have to apply for my daughter whos 3 and im just dredding the process again ....

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 24/05/2023 16:52

@Lollypops88 I know what you mean hun I was doing the same plodding on dealing with things, but then the school came to me and said they wanted me to apply and filled out the form for me... they came to me last week and asked me to apply for my 5 year old as she's been diagnosed with severe hypermobility and needs physio and being assessed for adhd so I'm dreading the process too! This has been a long gruelling wait for me and I'm do glad it's over but now I gotta do it all over again!!! Haha we will be fine though hun... can always private message me if you need any help or fancy a chat hun xx

Got a letter today about our DLA claim. A week after her claim had ended and we had a scan date of 16 Feb. So those whose end dates are imminent, may have a few more weeks to wait. Massive relief that she has the same award (HR for both). Got to redo in 2 years again though in case she miraculously gets better. Here's hoping.

Emma94xx · 25/05/2023 12:09

Hello all just wondering on average how long everyone waited to find out if they've been awarded? I waited 9 weeks 2 years ago with my daughter my scan date was 13/03 so 11 weeks Monday coming I have noticed people saying 15 week waits x

Emma94xx · 25/05/2023 12:10

** might I add this is a new claim for my son

Soph2345 · 25/05/2023 13:39

@Emma94xx its 12 weeks for me on Monday, I'm going to phone them on the tuesday I think to see what they say.

Mammato2senkiddos · 25/05/2023 13:46

My scan date was 27th Feb for new claim and still waiting, although I have had a couple of texts to say they ate looking at it. Hopefully not too much longer 🤞🤞🤞

Soph2345 · 25/05/2023 13:52

@Mammato2senkiddos I should be around a week after you then shouldnt I? X

Emma94xx · 25/05/2023 16:20

Thankyou @Soph2345 shocking how behind they are! Fingers crossed not much longer now, let us know what they say will it be open as it's Bank Holiday?

Emma94xx · 25/05/2023 16:21

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 25/05/2023 16:22

Anyone know why some are done so quickly and others are done at the last minute for renewals

Soph2345 · 25/05/2023 20:11

@Emma94xx oh yeah it is bank holiday, I'll ring towards the end of the week. X

Sarahloo88 · 25/05/2023 22:30

Hi all
I’m hoping to hear any day about my sons claim, scan date was 2nd Feb and current award ended yesterday. I sent in supporting evidence but was just wondering if anyone knows do they contact the health professionals you list on the application form? My sons consultant is on maternity leave and I was wondering if that would cause a delay
TIA

3Hearts1Beat · 26/05/2023 08:05

@Tfutcher WOW! You really are lucky. Great news.

With DLA I honestly think it’s literally them doing things at their own discretion, cause as others have previously mentioned you’re given a different reason all the time with regards to waiting times and so it’s hard to even understand why they award some people with the given time frames and others outside of the time frames or even in cases like yours, which I’d say, is extremely rare.
