5 reasons I hate Babywearing

  1. As it is so easy to feed on the move I can't make DH go to the supermarket during busy times just because she is due a feed.
  1. As it keeps them so lovely and warm I have not used any of the lovely snowsuits or jackets I bought and was given and they just sit sadly in my hallway gathering dust.
  1. It takes hours to get anything done as you are stopped all the way round the supermarket by cooing grannies telling you how wonderful and comfy it looks and how sweet and cosy your DC looks.
  1. I always need a pound coin as I only need a shallow trolley for the shopping when I only have DD2 and I never have one on me.

and the fifth and final reason I hate babywearing is

  1. It always puts them to sleep, even when you want them to stay awake to try and stagger nap and feed times!

kiskidee · 31/12/2007 16:53

have a look at this link, babywearers gobsmacking or what.

belgo · 31/12/2007 17:02

Why gobsmacking?

FlllightAttendant · 31/12/2007 17:04

I think the idea of Mothercare doing a Meitai, well I nearly fell over seeing that!

belgo · 31/12/2007 17:23

oh I see what you mean now

ChirpyGirl · 31/12/2007 20:22

I know! I saw that on Yahoo group and thought it was about time too!

Typically it has to be a very expensive one though, could they not find a cheaper MT so people aren't put off by the price, people won't get the 'it's cheaper than a travel system' thing until after they have bought one..

See, I am never happy

bealcain · 04/01/2008 09:21

how many are we up to now then? i've thought of another

?. you can get them custom made in the same material as your wedding dress (ds2 will be pleaed to be held, and i'll be co-ordinated....yay)

ChirpyGirl · 05/01/2008 15:09

No way bc! that's so cool!

I have ordered some material from ebay that is like a sari material and have dug out some other stuff from my cupboards so I can make my own rs's.
I got my first woven wrap the other day as well, it's sooo comfy!

And I have another..

When you have latched your younger DC on in the RS and are happily BFing fairly discreetly in sainsbury's (with the tail partly over her as you have had to pull your top down to feed) it is far too easy for your elder DC to pull the tail down and announce to the poor teenage boy at the checkout,
'Look, Mummy give baby beeboo'

Who promptly looked, and then died of embarrasment.

reason no. 25.5: when dh doesn't bring his he-man rucksack carrier and dd falls asleep on his big manly shoulders, he needs help half way up the climb in the Peak District and you finally relent (after letting him suffer and beg a bit) and carry her the next 3.5 miles in your beautiful and comfortable Mei Tai.

note to self. get him one with XL straps
