Hello! Sticking a comment here so I am on it ready for the moans and joys of our 2021 babies! Gosh, 2021... sounds so strange!

Anynamenottakenplease · 29/10/2021 12:44

@MyGrassIsBrowner thank you for the new thread. Can’t believe October is nearly over - really feel for those still pregnant! My little girl will be a month old tomorrow! Time has flown by (well maybe the 2am feeds less so!).

mooloop · 29/10/2021 13:00

Thank you for the new thread @MyGrassIsBrowner! Hopefully mini mooloop will join this one soon 😂🤞🏻

Aww you're welcome ladies!! More than happy to do it as I would love to ramble about motherhood with you all! I honestly dont know where this year has gone though, it's crazy.

Having a right mare today. Part of my incision has now got these strange blisters/lumps on it and is leaking and also got a hole on the otherside where I can now see a stitch! 🤢 I've been prescribed antibiotics but haven't had chance to pick them up yet. I'm so frustrated as I feel like I've been looking after it really well. Grrrrrr.

It's so mental how fast the newborn days go, but I agree @Anynamenottakenplease not the night feeds 😆 took Macy three hours to be settled last night waking at 3am... fml. I was almost ready to throttle the girl 😅

Excited for the next arrivals!!!! 🥰

@MyGrassIsBrowner feel your pain with feeding! Yesterday night and day all I did was feed, she wouldn't sleep unless on boob and anytime off it she was crying 😭 it was crazy and already felt demented from minimal sleep the night before. Dog is also massively put out by new baby and off food and just devastated she can't come on the bed during the night time as we're bed sharing with baby. Had a bit of a breakdown on DH and managed to get 5 hours last night so feeling a lot better and milk gremlin is being less of a diva today.

It's definitely a hard adjustment. There's a lot to fit in, especially when you're trying to heal mentally and physically. My wobbly tummy is making me a bit sad but hoping feeding might help with that. I also have disturbing piles now 😩

We had friends over last night and have lots of hand me downs to go through so that's exciting and they gave us a Sleepyhead which hoping will help with baby chill out time. Trying to catch up with everything today as more fam coming tomorrow x

Juicytoot287 · 30/10/2021 12:31

I am starting to feel really guilty as I have had hardly any visitors as I just found this week so much. Baby is officially over a week old now which feels crazy and she lost her unbilical cord but I still feel awful! I mean piles, ow! And I can't use the cream apparently becayse of my stitches down there:( which also hurt now.

Also baby has started bring up her milk after some feeds which is heart breaking when we have been so on it about her feeding to gain weight and be ok :(

MyGrassIsBrowner · 30/10/2021 12:43

@summerhillgang it's so hard isn't it. For me it's the sleep deprivation. I feel guilty as I'm snapping at Scarlett and all she wants to do is play and I feel like the worlds worst mum 😭

Aww I'm so sorry your poochy feels put out, ours is just a sleep fiend so thankfully he's quite chill but I can imagine how guilty you're feeling. It will pass though and things will get much better. We have a dog walker now once a week but I want to up it to twice a week we just cant afford it right now.

I too got a good nights sleep last night and Macy is zonked on the nursing pillow so I can spend a bit of time with Scarlett and catch up on some chores.
I have been suffering with one damn pile kicking off in my arse too.. it started bleeding quite a bit so I went to investigate it with my phone light and a mirror, well.. it was thrombosed and I popped it.. a huge blood clot came out 😳 but holy shit the relief was insane. Aww that's nice you've been given clothes and hopefully the sleepyhead helps! Macy loves her nursing pillow she's a front sleeper though so I'm always on edge.

@Juicytoot287 try not to feel guilty hun. Having visitors round will just cause you more stress, more trouble than it's worth. Pictures can suffice for now until you feel in the right headspace! People will just have to wait. Our inlaws havent seen Macy yet but tbh I've got a very strained relationship with them so I'm currently not arsed.
Regarding the spitting up, we've just started giving Macy Infacol, I'd recommend it! We're on day three now and she's doing pretty well, definitely not as much spit up as she has been doing the past two weeks. Also, make sure you're getting as many burps out of her as you possibly can, even if it takes you a while. It's worth it! X

I'm also booked in drs on Monday to get the implant haha, no more babies for me! 🙈 never ever again! DP said he's gonna get a vasectomy but I'm not pressuring him yet as I'm happy to not have periods for the forseeable ha!!

mrssunshinexxx · 30/10/2021 13:25

@summerhillgang I give you a lot
Of sympathy re piles I'm 39+1 they are agony I'm terrified what they will be like after birth

summerhillgang · 30/10/2021 13:48

@Juicytoot287 yeah stitches are not good, I've stopped taking her codeine they gave me so feeling everything more now. I've been having a bath every other day with Epsom salts, lavender and tea tree, it helps. And made some padstickles - mix together aloe Vera, tea tea, lavender, witch hazel and smear on pads and then freeze, then use as normal pad. Also really wanted to chill this week but DH kind of forced me to accept his parents coming, they were very enthusiastic, first grandchild etc and prepared to come together even though they are split up years ago so I felt i couldn't say no. My parents are much less enthusiastic! As soon as they arrived, I was expected to sort out lunch, I let it slide but inside I was angered. Don't do anything you don't want to do!

@MyGrassIsBrowner those piles sound nasty! You're much braver than me, too scared to look 🙈 dog was long overdue a groom and kept getting super muddy so sorted that yesterday and feel a bit better allowing her on bed, she's been really good with the baby so far - keeps her distance but likes to keep guard 💕

MyGrassIsBrowner · 30/10/2021 14:07

@Juicytoot287 @summerhillgang must admit I'm glad to have not had to bear the brunt of sitches on my bits this time round but then again I got my stomach cut into instead lol. I feel you girls though, my stitches after Scarlett were terrible, I couldn't sit for weeks without nearly hitting the roof. I did use spritz for bitz by the expert midwife though which was so soothing!

I was in so much pain with them summer, I couldn't bare it I had to have a look 😆 I can sit down comfortably now at least. I'm just putting anusol on them religiously to try and shrink em!

OP posts:
Juicytoot287 · 31/10/2021 06:17

Oh the stitches are not pleasant. I am doing well with them to be fair but just want my body to feel normal and not have to be super cautious when I pee etc. 6 weeks seems ages to wait for them to be healed I won't lie.

In other news - 1. day light savings has truly fucked up our feeds and I feel awful. Set an alarm for 1.45am (knowing it was before savings) so that we would overlap the changeover but it didnt go off until the new 1.45am so I feel awful now she ate late. To top it off she was sick again. She keeps being sick during feeds today and it is getting my partner down. Going to call someone today for some advice because it does feel like all of a sudden so can't see it being the teets etc. But happy to try anything

mrssunshinexxx · 31/10/2021 07:53

@Juicytoot287 is she being sick but happy or is she upset ? My lo had bad reflux as in would Chuck up most of her feed but was happy as Larry I started propping her up my legs for 20 mins after a feed and propped her snuz pod up with 2 books so she wasn't flat it helped so much

MyGrassIsBrowner · 31/10/2021 08:57

@Juicytoot287agree with @mrssunshinexxx make sure they are propped up! If it helps, this is how I feed atm. X

NW2021 · 31/10/2021 09:27

Morning all! Still no little one here but I think they’re on their way!! Had some pains last night nothing regular but woke me up through the night, eventually got out of bed 5am (forgot the clocks went back & wondered why I was awake so early 😂🙈) went the loo and there was my bloody show, then few hours later my mucus plug looks like it’s gone. I’m so queezy with blood etc that mucus plug is horrid 😂😂 but looks like things are on there way!!
Getting some more pains but not really having the tightenings with them? Pains aren’t causing me much drama at the moment.
I’m hoping they pick up today & baby is here soon!!

@mooloop how you getting on? Any signs?

mooloop · 31/10/2021 09:58

@NW2021 I've been having period type pains for days on end now but still no real progress! 40+1 today so I know I might still have a long way to go 😑 sounds really promising for you though! Fingers crossed, keep us updated!

Anynamenottakenplease · 31/10/2021 10:50

@Juicytoot287 sorry to hear about your feeding/sick struggles. We were/are in the same position but things are definitely improving. She lost 12% body weight in first weighing and they wanted to admit us onto ward but I begged to try at home first. Since then we had to wake her every 3 hours and feed until she practically popped (or projectile vomited). This was so hard but she went past her birth weight within 2 weeks and is steadily gaining now. As others have said, she can still be happy and gaining weight even though she is being sick as was (and still is sometimes)the case for our little girl. We have to hold her upright for minimum 30 minutes after each feed and we wind her every minute which is pretty hard going. Luckily we have our own baby scales that we bought during last lockdown when our eldest was a baby and there were no weigh ins in our area due to covid. We find it useful to weigh her every 2 days just for our own peace of mind but I guess that’s not for everyone.

Juicytoot287 · 31/10/2021 13:13

Thanks everyone, we have been sitting her up and she doesn't even guzzle her milk anyway which is why it is weird. So far she has kept 3 feeds down though so fingers crossed!
Scales would be so good for peace of mind. She was 6lb 8 born, 6lb 5 when we left the hospital and 6lb 6 at day 4. Then they weighed her on day 7 for us as a favour and she was 6lb 8 again! So hopefully she doesnt go backwards with the sickness

mrssunshinexxx · 01/11/2021 13:56

Sorry if I've got the wrong person @MyGrassIsBrowner was it you who was struggling with piles too? Honestly mine are really fucking bad I had a look in the mirror major TMI but there genuinely doesn't look like there's room if they had to cut me without going into pile territory wtf will happen ?

Juicytoot287 · 01/11/2021 16:36

@mrssunshinexxx Hiya, I have piles now but after birth
However i did get cut for my labour and can say it does like 5 o clock so not toward the bum hole region so you will be fine. Hopefully you avoid this anyway!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 01/11/2021 21:30

Macy is now vomiting after every feed atm so ladies, I feel you 😩 it's so so deflating! I literally dont know what to do. Been told by both GP and local pharmacist to just feed little and often, but she even brings up a mere 2oz feed, argh!!

@mrssunshinexxx I also got piles AFTER birth. There is no real correlation between tearing and piles as such, it's more to do with how much you are pushing during labour. The more pressure on the veins around your anus the more likely it is that you will come away with piles. I'm only suffering with mine at the moment because of my damn constipation, its horrid!

OP posts:
Juicytoot287 · 02/11/2021 01:59

@MyGrassIsBrowner I feel you on this. Luckily yeaterday she kept each one down! I just followed fhe advice of little and often, upright after feed and we wind her before her feed and like every minutes too. Feeding takes a while but she keeps it down.

However it was never EVERY feed so perhaps this is more severe like CMPA? Defo call midwife/ HV whichever you are under as the GP fobbed me off for something whereass the midwivea had me straight in for peace of mind.

mooloop · 02/11/2021 11:01

Hey guys, how's everyone doing? I'm 40+3 today and so done with being pregnant, can't believe it's another 9 days til I'll be induced if he's not here by then 😑😂 have we had any more babies join us yet?

Sorry to hear about the little ones being sick @MyGrassIsBrowner and @Juicytoot287, bless them! Must be a minefield trying to figure out what works for them which can't be easy in the middle of the night!

mrssunshinexxx · 02/11/2021 11:21

@Juicytoot287 that's interesting I thought it would of been a straight cut .

@MyGrassIsBrowner have you got lactulose ? I've been putting neat witch hazel on overnight and it's helped the pain
