TRIGGER WARNING - suicide attempt

She's taken an overdose. And it's my fault, I left my medication where she could find it. Shit, shit, shit.

Thank you for your kind words. DD is on the mend thankfully although I fear it won't be long until we're back here again. She last did it 3 weeks ago, it's awful not knowing how to make it better for them

Dontjudgeme101 · 04/09/2021 17:14

Sorry to hear that Mummy of 4kids. I am so glad that your daughter is much better now. 💐

I’m glad your dd is recovering. 🌻

In my thoughts,OP.

tommyhoundmum · 04/09/2021 18:23

As she hasn't been rushed in to emergency care, it sounds as though she is not at risk of death.

Not your fault. Young people do crazy things. Let's hope she gets some help.

Thinking of you.

OP had another thread entitled DD in hospital in ITU. I am not clever enough to link to it but for those wanting an update she says she has lost this thread.

LemonViolet · 04/09/2021 18:25

Here’s OP’s new thread

lemonviolet MN have closed the other thread just now to avoid confusion.

OhWhatsTheDifference · 04/09/2021 19:45

Coming over from the other thread. Fingers are crossed she begins to pick up Thanks

indecisivewoman81 · 04/09/2021 19:46

I read your thread and just wanted to say how desperately sorry I am and that I am thinking of you.

Your daughter is in the best place possible and you need to know this is NOT your fault as others have said.

MumofSpud · 04/09/2021 19:46

I read your thread yesterday and was thinking about you today.
Yes, as others have said, she's in the best place to be looked after and monitored v closely.
What you have to do is look after yourself as well - is there anybody checking in on you too?

LemonViolet · 04/09/2021 19:47

Hmm seems more likely to confuse the OP tbh!!! @RivkaMumsnet @MNHQ would it not have made more sense to close this thread and leave the distressed OP the most recent thread active?

Anyway @

LemonViolet · 04/09/2021 19:48

@JackOfGentleman we are all here for you!!!

oakleaffy · 04/09/2021 19:50

OP's daughter was in Resus. So she must have been in a bad way. OP hasn't got back, probably too stressed, but can think of nothing more worrying than to have a loved child suffering so much mental torment that they do something as serious as this.

It's really hard being a young person/young adult, as things seem so intense at that phase of life.

BodgertheJogger · 04/09/2021 20:00

@WhenISnappedAndFarted

OP it's not your fault.

My DM has a history of trying to commit suicide and honestly, they'll find a way if that's what they want. I used to hide my medication after one attempt, she tried a different way. If it wasn't your pills it would have been something else or she'd have found them.

Has your daughter been getting help?

Exactly this. Don't blame yourself. I hope you are being supported xxx

Anyway @

I completely agree with this and would urge people to read the OPs other thread before posting as her daughters condition has changed from when she last posted on this one.
