Is this a ridiculous name?

We have twin girls due in a few weeks time and are stumped on a name for baby B.
Our name for baby A is Quinn and the names of our other kids are Arabella, Felix and Hugo.
For baby B we've been deciding between Audrey, Eloise and Pippa.

However, the point of this question is to ask, do you think Pippilotta or Pippalotta is a ridiculous name? If we use Pippa, we'd like it to be as a nickname, but aren't fans of the traditional Philippa. So, would Pippilotta or Pippalotta work, or alternatively Ophelia or Josephine with Pippa as a nickname?

Please don't hesitate to share your feedback. I don't want to give my child a ridiculous name and fear that pregnancy hormones have clouded my judgement!

Leonor and Quinn?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonor,_Princess_of_Asturias

Audrey and Quinn go well

twinmama2021 · 18/03/2021 20:06

@Mylovelyhorsee

Suggestion for classic names:

Vera
Margot
Martha
Gwen

Margot sounds too similar to our son Hugo's name

Audrey was my favourite from your OP, also like Aubrey and Quinn.

What a coincidence that both your grandmothers were called Quinn.

Jasmine and Grace? Arabella, Jasmine, Felix, Grace and Hugo?

Pippalotta isn’t great, I’d just call her Pippa in that case. Not keen on Quinn as people will call her quinnie

ivykaty44 · 18/03/2021 20:07

Penelopy
Philomena
Philipine

Edith. Beautiful name

ivykaty44 · 18/03/2021 20:09

I do prefer Audrey, Quinn is also great name

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 18/03/2021 20:10

I'm the only person, but I actually like Pippalotta!

But my suggestions would be:

Cosima, Florence, Augusta, Cecelia or Theodora

Fortherosesjoni70 · 18/03/2021 20:10

Pippalotta is a no from me.

@MrMucker

OP determined. MN1-Quinn sounds like cunt MN2-Quinn sounds like cunt MN3-Quinn sounds like cunt ....etc etc etc MN356-Quinn sounds like cunt. OP-erm, how dare you comment, I never asked lalalalala we are happy with the name that sounds like cunt because our love will shine through. Grin
In the US, it sounds like Quinn and nothing more. I appreciate your feedback, but if you're trying to provoke a response, you won't get one. We like the name, it has a strong family connection, and we're set on it. If you don't like it, don't choose it for your own kids. We're all set for names for ours. Thanks!

What about Juliette?

Fortherosesjoni70 · 18/03/2021 20:11

I know a Quinn. Its ok.

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 18/03/2021 20:12

Phillippa is longform for Pippa? But dull

I know a RL Pippilotti, mad as a brush, amazing. I say why the hell not, tbh it's a mad mouthful but why boring?

twinmama2021 · 18/03/2021 20:12

@YesIReallyDoLikeRootBeer

I'm American. I work in a school so see lots of kids with lots of names. Quinn is not considered "girly" it is definitely considered "unisex". Yes its higher on the chart for girls then boys, but for sure it is not "girly" at all. Also, you say it's both your grandmothers names. Do you mean their last name? Two female Quinns old enough to be your grandmothers would be very unusual.
Nope, first name! I've never met someone with the last name Quinn. The strong family connection means its set in stone for us. She will be Quinn Catherine :)

Except that’s not how the thread has panned out at all, except in your head.

There are surely some cunts on this thread, but they’re not the OP or her chosen name that she wasn’t even asking for opinions on. Wink

@twinmama2021 you have been the model of good manners and politeness on this thread, and have done nothing but show up many posters for the snide, socially inept people they are. ⭐️

Pippilotti is actually better.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 18/03/2021 20:14

Disagree with this... Audrey goes with Joan (as well as Margot, Edith, Veronica) as a glam 1940s name. Brenda and Maureen are slightly later and much more dowdy.

I'm coming from the viewpoint of having aunties who were born between the late 1920s to 1940 who have those names (along with a few others with similar names), and they have never seemed glamorous to me. I suppose younger people than me (I'm 53) may associate them with Hollywood actresses, rather than knowing actual people with those names, so they seem more glamorous.

twinmama2021 · 18/03/2021 20:15

@DietrichandDiMaggio

I'm surprised to see so many people saying they like Audrey - to me it goes with names like Joan, Brenda and Maureen - old lady names, but not quite old enough to have come back into fashion.
Interesting! It's in the top 50 in both the UK and US I believe so I guess many others disagree!

I think Audrey is very pretty.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 18/03/2021 20:16

Ooooh Pippilotti is lovely

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 18/03/2021 20:16

Audrey is lovely as is Aubrey, have you thought of Maude? Such a pretty name.

Redsquirrel5 · 18/03/2021 20:17

Congratulations on your twins. Five children aren’t you lucky. I hope all goes well. I had another name but see you have chosen Audrey. A lovely name, my best friend has a lovely friend called Audrey. You don’t hear it very often. I haven’t heard of Quinn but probably will now if it is getting popular. Nearly called DD Ophelia. She suits her name and I dreamt it when I was pregnant and a bit more which two of the things have become true so far.😃

Fortherosesjoni70 · 18/03/2021 20:17

@Letsallscreamatthesistene

Ooooh Pippilotti is lovely
The more I see it, the more I like it! Its sweet!

Also make me think of a small sausage - something I would get as tapas

I absolutely love Maude and it was actually our chosen name until Dakota Johnson came out with a female s*x toy brand called Maude :/
