I need some motivation ................. waaayyyy too much work to do, please help me!

Ok I have to hand in 6000 words of my dissertation by 31st October.

So far I have done er ...nothing!! I have downloaded most of the articles I need but havent even scanned through them yet to start writing.

I need to do about 2000 words a week for the next 3 weeks to get this in

Please help i just keep spending time on here and facebook and doing nothing

You'll be fine. You need to break it down into small manageable chunks, so the overwhelming feeling of panic doesn't overtake you. I've 8 weeks left to finish my PhD thesis with 2 children. I still have my literature review, discussion, conclusions chapters and all my corrections, diagrams, references etc to sort out, phew ....am beginning to panic again!!!

I'm working on my literature review this w'end and have like you said got a huge pile of papers I need to work through. I've pulled a couple out and broke it all down into small sections. Get a cup of tea, music on (if it helps) and start...Don't think about everything you need to be doing, just concentrate on a little bit at a time..

good advice thanks I'm doing my lit review ...its hard work isnt it, especially 6000 words of it.
I might try and do about 1000 today, I have nothing else to do cos Im ill
