Wouldn't we all be a nightmare on a rare ladies only night out?!

libb - please don't think your ds will ever love anybody as much as he loves you. I went back when dd was 4 months, and I have to say that I loved it - I REALLY enjoyed the time I did have with her in evenings and weekends, I even liked the occasional nights when she woke as itmeant we could have more cuddles.

wow! all night. prob was the medised, but you never know. this may be the beginning! i bet you woke loads.

yes, i know what you mean about the buggy. i bet i have the heaviest travel system going. its an urban detour deluxe from mothercare. very nice and cosy with furry bits and cosytoes, bag, raincover, the works. was great for putting carseat onto when she was asleep in the car, and still is. but bloody awkward and huge in the boot, even of my new xsara picasso! soon she will be out of the carseat - well maybe 5 months, and i will be complaining. i persuaded dh i wanted this travel system too, when all he wanted was the light, nippy, zippy jane. wished i'd listenend, but as mum was buying it for us, her preference (even though she said it was up to us) made a difference.

want a maclaren for shopping, this 3 wheeler can be for walking around here. over fields and bumpy lanes.

SusiS · 11/10/2004 13:39

maybe i should get some medised then
sigh ds doesn't seem to be allright yet. he is much better though. was happy in the morning and ate everything. but feels quite hot again and left some of his lunch bottle. and he never ever does!!! - he then refused his veggies!!! - he must be ill - will have an eye on his temperature

wow kbaby, all night! you must be pleased

SusiS · 11/10/2004 13:40

yes, they should rent out the prams for a "trialweek" where you take a doll or teddy along - so you see if you really like the pram!

cat82 · 11/10/2004 15:35

Hello everyone

Libb hope everything's alright hon-thinking of you.

Susi-What a fab idea about pram trials! we got a Graco Quatro, which was great with the car seat and everything and is cosy, but not good for bumpy terrain and just sooooooo huge!
Hope Ds feels better soon

Egypt-Wahey! i hope it's the start of many all nighters to come!

Kbabay, sounds like our d's are roughly the same on the size front. How heavy was she when she was born?

Well today we had our first proffesional photo session. Kiera has to be the most reluctant smiler on this planet, she doesn't smile at anyone other than her daddy and very occasionaly me! We got some lovely shots of her with her head in Dps hands tho, which are just gorgeous. Very expensive to buy, so we're thinking about which ones at the moment. Dp suggested that we buy all and give some nice ones to family as i chirstamas present, but i'm not sure. Is that a bit, well, "here is my baby we think she's so adorable, that everyone must have a picture of her and display it all times"? what do you all think?

Hope everyone is okay!

HE ROLLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(front to back - looked a bit surprised he'd done it, tbh!)

Sandi102 · 11/10/2004 17:03

wow. a load of messages to catch up with. Just got back from another boring day of lectures. Only to be told that my diss. proposal is too ambitious. So i'm going to have to re-write it. I wish they had told me this like 3 months ago, when i presented my ideas to them.

my mum bought me a highchair for ds and its still wrapped up in the shed (we have no garage!). It seems as though we're all getting them out, so i will too. Doesn't it matter that ds is not sitting up unsupported yet?

susi, ds too had a high temp and red cheeks. ad a terrible cold. No sign of a tooth but i've found a tooth growth in my upper gums right at the back of my mouth. going to dentist on thur, so shall see what she says.

i've just read your posts about medised. i'm going to the chemist right now to get some.

kbaby and egypt, i envy you. no more disturbed nights.

cat, the photo session must've been exciting. i took ds2 a few weeks back, and although he got tired towards the end, some great shots were taken.

have to go back to my dissretation. chat later.

libb thinking of you today. I bet you can't wait to rush home.

Sandi102 · 11/10/2004 17:05

georgina, well done ds!! isn't it great when they move on to the next srage of development. i just think it's soooo amazing!

cat82 · 11/10/2004 17:08

sob is Kiera the ONLY baby not rolling yet?!

Oh Sandi what a pain
hope you manage not to get to stressed. Any ideas on what you can do?

Sandi102 · 11/10/2004 17:26

i'm in a panic. just changed ds nappy and poo was v.dark green nearly black, and smelled like it was day's old. not at all like his normal poos, which are usually yellowish and smell, well what can i say? fresh?? [yuk] is he ill? He seems ok, other than his cheeks are bright red and has a stinking cold. his nose was very runny this morning before i left, but just blocked now. using karvol at night.

thanks cat. i just need to cut it down. I'll have to concentrate on my authority only, which is a shame, because i wanted to do some comparisons withneighbouring authorities.

Amfs · 11/10/2004 17:27

DD's poos always dark green .. and recently have been a little mucusy which I put down to teething / snottiness

HTH

GeorginaA · 11/10/2004 17:30

cat82 - if it's any consolation he hasn't repeated it... just looked at me in disgust when I put him back on his tummy

cat82 · 11/10/2004 17:31

Don't worry about the colour of the poo, kiera has had a some fairly mucasy nappies before and,like amfs, i put it down to being a little mucasy. Is he on any solids? Keep and eye on him, and if he starts running a temperature, or tomorrow you're still concerned take him to the doctor. {{{{higs}}}}

GeorginaA · 11/10/2004 17:31

and ds1 didn't roll until 8 months - don't think he could see the point until he was crawling...

cat82 · 11/10/2004 17:32

ahem higs? no, hugs methinks

Sandi102 · 11/10/2004 17:37

thanks guys. feel better . will keep an eye on his temp. usually goes high at night.

SusiS · 11/10/2004 17:45

wow georgina!! me jelous - no more impatient screams to come and rescue! - my ds still only manage from back to front - and that every 2 minutes

haven't even got a highchair yet! me thinks it's time to go and do some shopping

yes sandi; bright red cheeks and quite high temperature and very weird looking nappy (slimey, greenish) was unsettled all night and all day too! had very short naps and didn't eat much - he's up now for an hour had a good feed though and is playing right now!! he didn't all day - i missed his laughter!
so i hope this silly tooth will come out soon - hope shortening of diss won't take too long!

hey cat!! i wish we'd go to a photo session - just dp hates just the thought of it! - at least grandparents will be well pleased with piccis!!! - the others too as long as you add some really nice (expensive) pressies

higs??? watcha drinking

just hope ds's temperature settles back down again!!!

don't you think sometimes it's quite difficult to dress lo's? i always think he is too cold or too hot!

Egypt · 11/10/2004 17:48

where did you get the idea dd was sleeping thru?!?!! did i miss it?!!? i was commenting on kbaby's dd doing it! sadly not mine

dd doesnt roll dont worry. well, if i give her a nudge with her leg when she's on her back so kind of gets over, but never does it alone. if i put her on her front she kind of loses one arm beneath her and ends up falling back over, quite undeliberately though.

dd's poos were like that for about a week. dont worry, they have phases. never forget the chives!

been a very loving wife and cooked a smashing roast beef dinner for dh and i. whats the betting he wont get home til late and dd wont go to bed and it'll be ruined.

my dryer never came bas*d argos. a little lad phoned me last tues to tell us that it would be delivered thurs. told him we would be in france, so he changed it to today. "well not according to our records". grmph
I WANT A DRYER!!!!!

and a pushchair

GeorginaA · 11/10/2004 17:55

Oh ds2 can't manage back to front... just front to back because he hates being on his tummy so much!!!

I haven't bought the highchair yet - waiting for ds2 to be able to sit upright by himself first - it's so much easier to feed in a low chair anyway - that's one thing I remember from first time around! I've just chosen it early

I am terrible at dressing ds2 . Almost cooked him today because it looked really cold outside... poor kid was panting!

cat82 · 11/10/2004 19:30

Hmmm i wonder if kiera is teething. She has been in a stinking mood for 2 days now, very grizzly and it just isn't like her. She's still sleeping 12 hours tho, and not waking up in pain at all. She has discovered how to scream as well. Properly. None of these teradactyl noises we had before. No. Proper high pitched, blood curdling Screams. They terrify me, it's like she's possesed!

Susi- yeah Dp wasn't in favour of a photo session really (especialy since he just purchased a super dooper, all singing, all dancing, stupidly expensive, shiny camera, that could launch a rocket it has so many diels and buttons) But basicly i didn't give him a choice, i booked it and told him to be there, AND, just to really, really annoy him, i bought one of those "watch me grow" packages, that mean we have to go back for 2 more photo session over the course of a year, including a family portrait

Egypt-ooh, poor you about your dryer! i really want one, at the moment we have to hang all our clothes in the conservetory to dry, in the summer it's not too bad, but in the winter it is a nightmare, not too mention no one being able to actualy sit in it, because we can't get past the clothes horses. I hope your roast turns out okay and you both enjoy it!

Georgina- how's the rolling?

Oh and i am also really bad at dressing her, I never seem to get it right!

Blimey, sorry i've wittered for so long, can you tell I've not spoken to an adult since 9.30 this morning?!

xxxx

Egypt · 11/10/2004 20:38

cat, mil got us a "watch me grow" thing too. is it with olan mills? we had the first one done at 3 months. the pic was lovely, but we need to pay £25 for extra!!! and thats just the 7x5 size. going to see if can get it photocopied somewhere naughty - and get ours done in black and white. it was the best pic for her but the background is a blue silk cloth and she is wearing a yellow dress with little pink roses on....not too coordinated. i think immediate family (grandparents) will love to have a pic for xmas. thats what we're doing anyway!

aha, on the dressing front, i remember what i wantd to ask you. those of you with girls, what do you do with dresses this time of year? she has loads of dresses to wear but i think it must be too cold for her legs. surely you're not sposed to dress them in tights? dont like the thought of having to pull tights on and off all day when changing nappies.

i seeem to dress dd in the same 4 pairs of trousers all the time. she should be just about ready to fit into her jeans now. might try them tomorrow. you know, get all dressed up for mother and baby!

SusiS · 11/10/2004 21:09

dang egypt!! hope your dryer turns up soon! was the first thing i wanted when we moved into this house a few months ago (lo was 1month; so i deffinitly wanted one!!!)

bet your pics are great @cat! - i try to take a few pics of ds every week (digi.cam) - and i just love looking at them ever so often. to see how much he has changed already - i know i am weird confused icon

am glad that i am not the only one unable to dress ds "correctly" - i have to admit i mostly prefer just sleepsuits - warm and easy for nappychanges
i bought a few really nice outfits though but he hardly gets dressed up - just so much hassle, and so many times to change him a day (359.243 times / day ) - not to mention how often i have to change my clothes

do your lo's still bring up something when you wind them? although i think winding got much much easier

what's your lo's fav game without a toy

lucas lately got hang of peekaboo! he wants to do it again and again and just laughs his head off - and any kind of "tickle game" !!!

SusiS · 11/10/2004 21:10

anyways, that's me for today! gotta feed him and check his temperature (hope it stayed down) and then i am off to
nighteynight
