explaining gay sex

My nearly 10 year old ds has just asked me how 2 men can have sex bloody Coronation street I explained the sex thing to him a couple of years ago, I subtly cowardly changed the subject, but I could see he was pondering the 'mechanics' he then seemed to have a 'light bulb' moment and hit the nail on the head, I confirmed he was correct, he didn't seem particularly perturbed and has gone to bed to finish Gangsta Granny!

Has anyone else had this question at such a young age? I feel like the very basics of sex is enough at 10 but it seems like everything is happening younger nowadays Hmm

Hi all,
we were thinking that the best thing to do might be just to get rid of this thread as it went A Bit Bonkers, would that meet with general approval at this stage?

Please..I apologise for offending anyone..it was not my intention at all..

WeAreDetective · 17/03/2014 21:45

Wow! Just... Wow!

Talk about messed up, Nigella!

AgentProvocateur · 17/03/2014 21:46

I think there's an issue if you keep deleting threads where Nigellasdealer has been disabilist or homophobic. If you keep deleting, people might think that she's a reasonable person. Why not keep the threads where she shows her true colours?

Cringechilli · 17/03/2014 21:46

I think fine to explain gay sex like that op, but I would have completed it by saying gay people can and do do other things (other than penetration) just like heterosexual people can do other things. We can all choose what we do or do not do.

I'm also going to defend Nigella a bit. She isn't saying that gay men are paedophiles. What she is saying is that a minority of people (men and women) are sex abusers or paedophiles and basically a toilet (mens or womens) where a child is without their parent/not in their sight is quite a good place to look for a victim. So she's uncomfortable sending her child into the loo alone. Also, there have been plenty of cases of abuse in toilets so she isn't just making it up. There was a case local to me where an 8yo boy was abused in a loo. Statistically it is true to say that more paedophiles are men than women. And I think that quite a few people on this thread are ignorant re the sheer number of children that have been abused. Substantial chunks of it unreported. It isn't unreasonable for Nigella not to let her 8yo out of her sight with people who she's never clapped eyes on. That said Nigella, I prob wouldn't have said buggery to the 8yo, I would have said something like you can see him to look after him etc.

So flame me now...

and i am sorry to have offended anyone too, nonetheless it does happen.
mrsdevere i am also from london - you know the loos at the back of carnaby st? those ones specificallly.

NigellasDealer · 17/03/2014 21:48

thank you cringechilli.

HavantGuard · 17/03/2014 21:48

If it walks like a duck and stirs up homophobia like a duck ...

WhizzFucker · 17/03/2014 21:51

glucose your post suggested that your dd's friend's mother was worried about her ds coming across paedophiles in the loos. Your reaction to this was that this was surprising because you think her son might be gay.

Can you see that the two have nothing to do with eachother?

Can you see that suggesting they do have something to do with eachother is offensive?
