... The catchy tune you are humming all day is not the usual Elbow, Adele or some other hip tune, but the character tunes from 'In the Night Garden'.

ditto any made by DC's cakes or any shared offerings of food. Half the cake from your friend's party bag even though you sat on it in the car Mmmm, lovely DS Grin You're sure you don't want it ? And you've only eaten licked off the icing ?!

When you say in a perky voice 'Now we need to get some milk!' in Sainsbury's and then realise your trolley is actually empty as the DC are at home. I've had many a red face moment as I've chatted loudly to my trolley over the years.

You go out, by yourself (!), for the first time in ages, and instead of enjoying your rare solo shopping expedition or haircut, spend the whole time with this nagging feeling you've forgotten something important, and you keep turning around to check the dc are still with you.

When you can't believe you've slept till 7.45am, and think the battery must have gone in your clock.

When you hoover behind the sofa and come up with duplo attached to the nozzle.

When you haven't seen your wedding ring for two years but later find it wedged in a keyhole.

When you buy a sofa based on the practicality of the fabric.

When you tuck a tissue in your bra.

When you fall in love with Justin Fletcher.

When your mobile phone is covered in jam.

I could go on but I don't want to appear bitter.......

Your pushchair resembles Buckaroo with all your shopping and you have to push it practically holding it up. You could've waited for DH to get home and gone in the car, but you both needed the fresh air.

"Your pushchair resembles Buckaroo" Grin classic !

Mich100 · 08/07/2012 03:56

You sit up for over an hour in the middle of the night trying to get your lo to sleep.

When a quiet house becomes something to be feared.

Everything goes lovely and quiet and suddenly you and dh are propelled out of your seats shouting 'what are you doing? Where are you? What is she doing? Where is she? Where are you and what are you doing?' usually when childless friends are sat bemused sipping coffee.

When you (knowingly) use the Peppa Pig squirty foam soap to shave your legs... Grin

When it's not normal for things to be quiet.

When you find yourself measuring potential expensive purchases in how much childcare/how many packets of nappies you could get for that instead.

When you have put the toddler to bed, come back down an have been sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea for ten minutes before you realise that you are STILL watching In The Night Garden.

When a hot cup of tea is too hot and you realise you have grown to prefer it lukewarm!

LadyFlumpalot · 13/07/2013 11:44

When you wake up at 7:30 am naturally and have a nagging feeling that you have wasted a perfectly good morning!
