You that stress where you get so stressed that you become almost paralysed, like a rabbit in the headlights?

That's me.

I'm procrastinating big time.

In fact, even though I have the house to myself and a deadline looming and nothing done, I'm going to watch John Simm on BBC iplayer right now Blush

Tuesday, as in tomorrow? Yes, as long as you know what you want to say, you'll be fine- that was part of my problem Confused
Got til the 24th so a week more. I will try to write a bit every day as I don't want to find myself in the same situation on the 23rd Hmm

Oh, that's so unfair proles. I'd talk about how difficult is has been for you recently. Oh, they must bump you up, they must.

Yeah, I would think so, Proles. 84% for ocas and distinction for exam- most probably you'll end up with first overall. Now I will have pass 3 whatever I do, as I have failed to submit two assignments so I'm also wondering if there is any point in trying to get first for the exam Hmm Of course, there's no guarantee that I would get it, but I usually do well on exams (as opposed to sustained effort like 6 tmas in a year Hmm Grin). But then I guess it would be only for my own satisfaction. Although it's weird that if you have 2.2 for ocas and 1.1 for exam you end up with just 2.2 overall Confused- but that's OU for you.

winnybella, good to hear you got the extension, your tutor would have been sooooo upset if you hadn't asked Wink
How's your lurgy?

proles, 1) do fab on the exam, and if not then 2) bloody well appeal!!! You are doing awesomely!

Good luck everyone timewasting, surfing and writing those TMAs. Mine's TMA03 for the current course and I've written a huge pile of crap err I mean notes today, but I have some awesome notes from the last tutorial which I'm going to use to prop my current stuff up. I appear to have lost the 'knack' of essay structuring, I used to roll it off but these days I struggle Hmm.

winnybella · 17/05/2011 15:48

How are you doing with your tma MrsS? Are you feeling better?
I have a weird 'full' feeling in my ear and pain Hmm Joys of DD cathching every bug going (she started playgroup recently).
DP left for London and I'm a bit worried because of the Real IRA bomb threats.
Will hopefully do some work on tma tonight. Will not waste 4 hours MNetting and drinking wine. Will not. Will not.

NormanTebbit · 17/05/2011 17:51

I spent today in a sensory deprivation booth in our university library with nothing but a computer and some research papers for company. I had to come home at 5pm as the ceiling was starting to jump out at me. hey ho, will be on for the long haul tonight.
TMA03 due tomorrow.

winnybella · 17/05/2011 21:43

How are you doing, Norman?

NormanTebbit · 17/05/2011 21:58

shredded

winnybella · 17/05/2011 23:04

Poor you. Did you finish it?

MrsShrekTheThird · 17/05/2011 23:33

blimey. ceiling jumping is Most Unpleasant. I blame those bloody lights.

I've found and re-read the Awesome Tutorial notes, but done bugger all else. I'm still faffing with how to organise the stuff I need to put in, and can't quite decide what needs to get left out iyswim. Going to have tomorrow off as well - chest still shocking if I'm honest, so another day on the TMA (if I get my butt in gear) should get me a long way to finished.

winnybella · 17/05/2011 23:37

Poor you, MrsS. When's your tma due?

I'm slowly losing hearing in both ears and my left one hurts like hell Hmm. Must be ear infection, I think. I sooo don't want to go to a doctor tomorrw, DP in London, am alone with DD, who is snotty herself, arrgh.

Made amazing lasagna today (my first ever, weird, is not exactly exotic dish) and ate half a baking dish portion and drank hald a bottle of wine. Talked on the phone and MNetted.

No progress on tma whatsoever.

MrsShrekTheThird · 17/05/2011 23:46

oh Winny, you really should get to a GP or walk-in centre or something, you really really don't want a horrid ear infection. Don't leave it untreated, it won't go away as you know.

My TMA's due on 26th, but I hate working anywhere near deadlines cos they just freak me out unneccessarily. Plus the fact there's a TMA04 a fortnight later and we have a holiday in between Hmm
I think I'm the opposite of those guys who always work like dingbats in the few days before a submission date. Just couldn't do it.

I reckon you needed today to recharge your batteries (with MN and wine, obv) That lasagne sounds awesome.

winnybella · 17/05/2011 23:55

I'm in Paris, I don't think they have walk-in centres here Hmm Will call my GP tomorrow morning, but it's a schlep from where I live...I was hoping it's viral, therefore nothing can be done? No fever.

We have simlar deadlines, then, mine's on the 24th. You can bet, though, that I'll be panicking on the evening of 23rd, staring at the blank Word document Hmm

MrsShrekTheThird · 18/05/2011 02:34

oooh blimey I missed that... had no clue you were in Paris. Blush

wildstrawberryplace · 19/05/2011 17:07

How are you ill people doing?

I'm ill myself now, just as DS got better...not too bad but a cold and a horrible ache that won't go away with pain killers.

have until tomorrow to finish now, but I've reached an intellectual dead end (that's a poncey way to say I've run out of ideas).

I need 2000 words, have written 1880 but still haven't addressed my third text, I think the battle is now to just get the bugger submitted never mind keeping to my original ambitious plan of writing something, you know, good

OP posts:
winnybella · 19/05/2011 23:01

1880 words sounds good, wsp Smile Can you attempt to write something on the last taxt, even if that section will be weaker, it'll still be an achievement considering that you're ill.

My cold hasmoved from my nose through my ears (god, that hurt) down my throat and now is lodged somewhere in the upper regions of my chest Hmm Fucking hurts. I'm supposed to go for a little holiday next week (without dcs, yay Grin) and I better not be ill then Angry

Haven't written anything.

wildstrawberryplace · 20/05/2011 14:25

Submitted the bugger! Blimey that was a bit of a struggle.

Going to flop on sofa now with a hot toddy.

Winny, you can still do it - all in all mine was written in about 2 - 3 days I think, in snatches here and there.

Rooting for you!

OP posts:
MrsShrekTheThird · 20/05/2011 18:26

Well Done, WSP :) Bet that's a relief.

winnybella · 20/05/2011 22:21

Yay, well done Smile

Wine for you

I'm playing a word game here Hmm I don't have an essay to write, oh no.

wildstrawberryplace · 22/05/2011 12:04

How's it going winny, MrsShrek?

Did you submit on time then Norman?

Have you started revising yet schroeder? I haven't, but that should come as no surprise! I've chosen my topics though...
