Does anyone know of where I can get some cheapy flip inserts? I've been keeping an eye out on cnt and nothings going there or at natural parents forum.

Before I buy new, anyone know of anyone selling?

CharlottesClan · 30/12/2010 18:53

bagpuss · 03/02/2011 10:10

I'm still here!! Hello Bagpuss!! How're you?

bagpuss · 03/02/2011 20:38

Hello Hermya! How's ds doing? We are fine - had some nappy buying finger slippage at the beginning of the week though Blush. We now have two monkey snuggles and two smartipants in our collection Grin. I haven't tried the monkey snuggles as they are still drying but the smartipants are good. Really trim and no leakage even with only one insert. They are a bit plain but I'm tempted to buy a couple more as they are very reliable. I have sold on a few things though - our sized ittis are going/gone and a couple of other bits too. I've also repaired a few of our old BGs which were destined for the bin but are now totally fine again. It was really easy to do too!

Hermya321 · 03/02/2011 21:26

DS is doing fine, he's very chatty these days. He has also started how he means to go on and has a strange fasination with the the TV, if I'm watching anything whilst we feed he'll pull off and try and arch himself round to stare at the screen. I have now stopped watching TV whilst we feed.

Oh I saw the smartie pants, I was wondering about them (I may have to get one now to try, damnit!). I've got two BG where the elastic is loose that I keep meaning to fix, but I really haven't got the energy. I've offered them up for sale but as I figured no one wants them. I will probably get onto them at some point.

I've recently bought one of the new ltd edition ittis. I got it in the beach stripe, it was stripey and I have a huge weakness for all things stripey. I've also tried mini lalas and issy bears of late as well. They were ok, not exceptional by any means. Personally I still prefer my BG, I know I can stick DS in them and he'll be dry as a bone three hours later.

What are monkey snuggles, are they fitteds?

bagpuss · 05/02/2011 10:08

Yes Monkey snuggles are fitteds - really squishy soft lovely fitteds. I will post a review when we've had a chance to try them.

The BG elastic was really easy, I just snipped a hole in the suedecloth on the leg casing and then took the old elastic out and replaced with the new stuff and then stitched the holes back up once I'd finished.

The smartipants are so excellent, I really want more Blush. I also love the new itti's but haven't got any (yet). I like the danube and spectra prints.

DS sounds fab hermya, I really miss when my two were tiny - they mainly crawl around wrecking the place now Hmm.

mumface · 15/02/2011 11:17

Hello, I'm still around, still faithfull to my Itti Bittis and hardly use anything else now. I've just succumbed to the new Itti prints, I have the retro bubble, beechworth and Aqua essence.
Still having real trouble toilet training Lewis he is 4 next week, he's ok with wees but never pooed once on the toilet, it's like he can't feel when he needs a poo. I'm thinking about taking him doctors as beginning to think it may be a medical problem, where the colon is stretch so that the nerve endings don't work. I'm afraid he won't be able to start school soon if he's not trained they won't take him Sad

Mumface - I'm a SENCO in a Primary school (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) - as well as a Nappy seller!! School will take your little boy even if he's still in nappies - they have to!! But it probably is a good idea to have a chat with a GP or HV to at least the get ball rolling.

bagpuss · 15/02/2011 12:43

Ooh hello Mumface and Sal Grin.

Mumface, I'd probably go to the GP too. DS2 was dreadful for a while but we got through it with some help from the practise nurse at our surgery and also by altering his diet.

I was just thinking this morning that it will be a year tomorrow since dt2 had his balloon catheter. Can't believe how quickly it has gone and how lucky we've been that he hasn't needed anything else so far Smile.

No nappy news here, still quite happy with my stash! Mumface, the ltd ittis are nice looking but I almost never reach for the two I have now otherwise I might have bought some too.

QueenofDreams · 20/02/2011 09:30

Hi ladies, thought I'd pop on and say hi.

My DS is now fully in disposables as he has outgrown his pop-ins. Not short of cloth bum-ness though now I have DD. She's just 6 weeks old and wearing a pop-in right now. Just got two Happy Heiny's for her though. I'm a little disappointed with the look of them, so hoping they perform well!

Hermya321 · 23/02/2011 21:11

Ooooo I'm going to get myself a smartiepants nappy this week and a flip cover in velcro. I'm actually quite excited at the thought of more fluffy post.

I think DS has suddenly gotten longer, I've started to move the rise up on some of his BTP BG and EF in order to get a good fit on him.

Apart from that, we're still very much of the fluffy side of things here.

rusmum · 24/02/2011 20:36

wow part 20!!! I am an origional member (still any here?) LOL - DD2 trainer at 21 months just as i had bought an itti in every colour for the summer (last). Just come for a nosey really - what have i missed? Is it worth considering dc3 just for the nappies? lol

swampster · 24/02/2011 22:19

Hello rusmum. My clothie days must be drawing to a close. I have a fabulous stash and a small boy who, at two, needs very few nappies a day now. We argue over which one goes on next. And whether he needs a change or not.

rusmum · 25/02/2011 08:23

lol i was so sad to say goodbye to them !

KirstyJC · 25/02/2011 20:35

Wow - this thread has been going ages! I remember the days when we would fill a thread in a couple of months (that's the royal we you understand, I lurked much more than I posted!). Hello to anyone who might remember me from times gone by!! Smile

I have been away from the nappies threads for a while, as went back to work again! However, am now 4 weeks off having another LO so have just bought some 2nd hand size 1's and am SO looking forward to a fluffy newborn bottom to cuddle! Can't believe I'm going to do it all again - and DS2 is still in nappies at 2.3 as he refuses point blank to use a potty/toilet.

So, what's new in the world of fluff then? I am still mainly using BG3 for DS2 and expect to use them for the next one as well.

Has anyone got any experience of fleece wraps with newborns? I only started with fluff when DS2 was 5 months so I haven't used newborn nappies before. Would they wick at night as the baby is less likely to move around, or would they be OK as newborns wee less?

OK, off now to look at the nappy websites again - wahay!!

swampster · 25/02/2011 22:56

Hiya Kirsty and CONGRATULATIONS!

I think Tots Teenyfits are where its at for tiny fluffy bums these days.

I used to love fleece wraps with just a booster on a new baby. Prefer fleece or wool pull-ons (longies or shorties) to wraps later on but when they are really small I've always found pulling things over their little leggies a bit difficult. And pulling them off again with a liquid poo nappy...

mumface · 26/02/2011 09:05

Wow, it's like a reunion, I remember all of you Smile Congrats to Queenofdreams & KirstyJC's impending arrival.
I only have 1 in nappies now, Connor is 20 months and Lewis was toilet trained last week 2 days before his 4th Birthday! It was such a struggle. The thing that finally did it was we told him that if he was still messing after his birthday we were taking him to see the doctor because there might be something wrong, he insisisted he didn't want to go doctors, they have a skeleton in the room! Next day bingo, not had a single daytime accident for nearly a week. It's such a weight off my mine. Bought him 10 new pairs of Thomas and Primeval pant for under a tenner, cheaper than nappies! wow it's amazing seeing some of the old names on here :)
I'm an original as well.

I've just splurged out on a knicker nappy and a tiny tush for dd. They arrived today and look supercute!
got to rush off will post properly again in the week.

Justtrying · 01/03/2011 08:34

Hi all, just want to share that i have a line full of new nappies, in preparation for my first DC due in may. So far have 16 shaped nappies of various sorts to try and 12 terry squares , I didn't mean to get so many but can see how addictive this is going to get, at the mo my favourite are some lovely soft bambinex teddies in baby pink, but i guess i might change my mind once we start using them.

QueenofDreams · 01/03/2011 08:46

Ooh congratulations. I did the same before DC1 was born. I had 10 teddies and 8 bamboos. Still using them on DC2 (now 7 weeks old) but nappies are absolutely addictive and I 'm sure you won't be able to resist trying out different nappies
Grin

mumface · 02/03/2011 13:21

Hi, Justtrying. I have the Bambinex teddies I loved them, stayed really soft and dry in a flash. I moved on to pockets and AI2 when he started walking as they got a bit bulky.

Hi everyone Smile
Think I was on the very first of these threads so it's good to see it's still going.

Anyhoo, I know I'm not allowed to sell here but as I have paid my subscription I'm hoping they won't mind a link to my thread in for sale. Just I know a lot of people have for sale hidden and wouldn't want you to miss out Wink

I'm selling off my advisors kit so they are all brand new and some of them are a real bargain.

Thread here if anyone is interested, and sorry again to be cheeky Blush

swampster · 08/03/2011 18:30

Who were you back in the day?

Hermya321 · 08/03/2011 18:41

Justtrying Oh my gosh I started off with a teeny box of fitteds, I now have a chest full of nappies of all descriptions and I'm still planning new bits of fluff.

Congratulations by the way!!
