Morning all. It's dark and windy and wet. urgh. Typically we have to go out, other than normal SportingActivity. Joy.

Have a good day all, and stay warm and dry!

LetUsPrey · 25/10/2025 08:18

Morning wenches.

Don’t particularly remember yesterday other than work which involved having to go back to someone twice because incomplete instructions and not responding to queries properly.

Looks like the sun is trying to come through. Come on, you can do it! Wool shop visit as I have many projects lined up up from seemingly nowhere, and community tea room place to drop off some stuff.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 25/10/2025 17:14

Afternoon. Quite a nice day after the rain stopped this morning. I've done something to my hip, can't remember what, but it's very painful. A least I didn't have to go out today. Oh, and I've done my tax return, yay me!

Have a good evening all.

Evening all. It's cold out there (though it did stop raining and there was a bit of sun by the afternoon)! We've been out for a nice family meal, but oh my word it was nippy coming out of the pub.

I hope it was a successful wool trip LetUs

Apricot - do you need Dr Ennis to check you out? (With bonus Poldark.)

<emerges from baked apple goods coma>

Was rather chilly & showery today, but hurrah for an extra hour in bed tonight Grin Have been looking at bathroom accessories today, the work is nearly finished & I will be testing the new shower cubicle tomorrow before a birthday dinner for DD. Otherwise I have been quite dull - work has been taxing from a technical point of view this, so am hoping to not have do do any thinking tomorrow beyond deciding on menu choices!

LetUsPrey · 26/10/2025 08:17

Morning wenches.

The sun did not last yesterday and it went rather flipping chilly. Wool shopping was successful, donations were dropped off.

Choosing bathroom accessories is ace. At least I really like seeing other people’s choices. Same with kitchens.

<restocks ointments for use on Apricot’s hip>

Seemed quite bright when I got up this morning. It’s now throwing it down. Usual Sunday ahead I think.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/10/2025 10:45

Morning all. I was up at the normal time because cats and chickens are having no truck wit this 'clocks have changed' nonsense. Plus I got the washing on. Then I went back to bed Grin We have bright sunniness at the moment, and washing is on the line, so I'd better check that the rain isn't heading this way.

DH has decided that apple wine is in order, so I'll be roped into that later today. Quite fancy<nto> a walk to if the weather stays like this.

Hope that Fancy has a lovely birthday/dinner with DD, and there are no leaks in the new bathroom! Well done on the donation drop-off LetUs - well productive!

ApricotCrush · 26/10/2025 16:45

Afternoon. Rain on and off all day and cold, though I’ve only been to the dustbin. Hip is no better but Dr Ennis has prescribed lots of bed rest so that’s alright. Grin

Apple wine sounds interesting Helen but if it’s anything like cider I couldn’t drink it. I was very drunk ill on cider when I was young and didn’t know what I was doing and I can’t bear the smell of it.

Happy birthday to FancyDD, hope you have a lovely meal.

LetUsPrey · 26/10/2025 19:05

Evening wenches.

I had a similar experience with red wine in my early 20s Apricot, although I seem to recall cheese and onion Discos also featured.

Apple wine does sound rather lovely.

It started raining just before lunch and has got worse since.

Did bath’n’book this afternoon and then finished the other fingerless mitten for the pair I was making.

Hope you’re having a lovely evening for FancyDD’s birthday Fancy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/10/2025 19:12

Evening all. DH does a very good apple wine (bear in mind I think that that wine tastes foul), but it's to be treated with caution. I always think of Aramis and his apple brandy when DH gets the bottle out, though it's probably nothing like apple brandy. Other than very strong. Also sweet.

I got the washing in just before the rain got here - it's drying indoors now. DH and I have spent vast amounts of time wrangling apples. Now I need to find freezer space for the ones we stewed Confused

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/10/2025 20:12

Why is it Monday tomorrow?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/10/2025 21:42

To spite us all, Wicked
At least it's half term though, so no dragging myself out for the college bus run.

LetUsPrey · 27/10/2025 06:46

Morning wenches.

I think Helen has it spot on with the Monday explanation. It’s spite.

Looking forward to the lighter traffic because of half term, at least on the way in. Doesn’t make much of a difference usually for the way home.

Wind and rain and generally miserable here.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/10/2025 11:50

Morning all (just about).

It's so miserable today that I was forced to make porridge for breakfast. It's proper hibernation weather - solid cloud, wind and driving rain. If anyone wants me they can sod off unless they're wenches or HBFs I'll be in the cwtch cupboard under a pile of blankets.

ApricotCrush · 27/10/2025 17:25

Afternoon. It's daaaaaaark. Sad Actually it's been a nice day here, I had the window open to get a bit of sun. Should have done some washing but didn't.

Nothing of interest happening. Hope Monday has been kind to everyone.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/10/2025 19:37

Evening all. The weather got better after lunch, which was handy because we had a power cut, so gardening was done and we didn't need candles to light the house.

LetUsPrey · 27/10/2025 21:57

Evening wenches.

So much rain. Like, loads. And rather chilly.

<burrows under blankets next to Helen>

LetUsPrey · 28/10/2025 06:48

Morning wenches.

Don’t know it’s still raining, can’t quite tell, but goodness it was raining a lot in the night. That’s quite enough for now.

Feels like we should be a lot further on than Tuesday but apparently we are not.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2025 09:16

Morning all. We had sunshine first thing, but it's gone a bit watery now, with high cloud coming in. I think I shall just stay burrowed in the cwtch cupboard for the forseeable.

Hope that fancy's new bathroom is living up to expectations.

ApricotCrush · 28/10/2025 16:38

Afternoon. Quite a nice day, cloudy, but no rain. We've been doing apples again all afternoon and I made some individual apple cakes so DH could take some for the golfers as they like a snack on the way round. They didn't look at all like the ones on YouTube as they collapsed somewhat, and looked more like a traybake! Grin They probably needed to be in cases. We'll try them out later.

Have a good evening all.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 28/10/2025 21:33

Evening wenches.

Individual apple cakes sound like individual pieces of happiness.

Rain and cold today.

Have made a (half-hearted) start on lists <nto> for upcoming birthdays and Christmas.

<shoves up next to Helen>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/10/2025 22:19

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm apple cakes. I've got a banana cake in the oven because there was some liquidifying in the fruit rack. Spiced apple cake next though.

DH has just asked me about Christmas ideas Confused He's got no bloody initiative, though I suppose at least this way I get what I want. I've already got a book set aside to give to myself in my stocking.

Good tennis news - c'mon Tim Andy Cameron!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/10/2025 07:29

Morning all. All grey and dreich out there today. With drizzle. Whoop Hmm

Have cut some banana loaf to take for lunch - it's somewhat stodgy-to-raw in the middle. No Hollywood Handshake for me! It will still be tasty though.

Have a good day all.

LetUsPrey · 29/10/2025 07:46

Morning wenches.

Flapjacks are in the oven. Hopefully I’ve worked out timings correctly so I won’t be late to leave for work.

😁 At the tennis named Helen. That was definitely a surprise! No handshake - good that there’s a silver lining to your bake not going quite as planned 😁

Better get a move on.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 29/10/2025 16:51

Afternoon. A bit drizzly first thing, but it cleared up at lunchtime. My car battery failed again this morning so I had to wait for DH to come home to start the car. I think I'm going to have to get a new one (battery not car).

We don't bother with Christmas presents for each other ever since I bought DH an expensive jumper many years ago and on Boxing Day it was half price in the sale. We said we wouldn't bother after that.

I had to google Hollywood Handshake and Cameron. Hmm I'm clearly not in the loop with TV bake shows or tennis. Well done to him though.

Hope everyone's had a good day.
