Evening all. It's been miserable here most of the day, with rain after work. There was a nice meal too though, so that was good.

What a nuisance re. the battery Apricot - better a new battery than a new car though!

I like doing Christmas presents, though it is a bother to think about what to tell DH to get me - and then to work out what DH would like.

Main bathroom is finished & there are just a few bits to do in the ensuite. Am very happy with it so far & bought myself some new towels to celebrate - how sad is that

Oh, not at all sad Fancy, it's lovely to treat yourself to new stuff for the house. I've just put a new duvet cover and pillow cases on the bed as the old ones were wearing out, and it's made such a difference to the room.

Boo for daaaark and work and the cold. (Though cold is allowed in the garden to kill off all the pests and stop them overwintering.) Perhaps I could have my own little bubble of light and warmth to move about in when I'm outside. Not much to ask?!

Shopping was partly successful. Work was surprisingly quiet.

Even though we don’t decorate for Halloween so don’t expect any trick or treaters, we get a tub of chocolates just in case. I’m now left with an almost full tub of chocolates. I need saving from myself!

Seem to have a headache brewing. Nothing bad but a niggly one which will hopefully be sorted by paracetamol and sleep.

Morning all. Got a lie-in eventually, after getting up to sort livestock, lying awake as the manshapes crashed around getting ready to go out, and cats plonked themselves on /off the bed. Then an hour of those sodding 'I'm awake/no I'm not' dreams. (My father brought the phone upstairs for me - someone was calling to tell me that DS hadn't handed in his spelling homework. WTF, brain?!) Honestly, they're tediously exhausting.

No new battery yet Helen, it's not on my list of priorities. It seems to be alright if I use the car frequently. It's when I go longer than a week or so that it fails. I just don't do long enough journeys to charge it fully.

I'm having visions of you procrastinating over the mitten LetUs, and ending up with one toddler sized mitten and one child-sized one as you knit to fit the recipient Obviously you won't do that, but the idea entertains me.

Afternoon. Cloudy and very windy, but not cold. I put some washing on the line and it has partially dried, just needs airing inside. I also did a Lidl shop and the car started, hurrah.

That's so true about the mittens Helen. I have a completed but not put together cardigan somewhere that I knitted for DGD when she was a toddler, but by the time I'd finished it she'd grown out of it.

It really is shocking how dark it is. I hate cooking when it's black outside in the garden. We do have a light on the terrace but it's not working. If only I knew a lighting engineer...
