Evening. Hope all wenches are well.

My cough is so much better, thank god.

Less than five weeks until London now, yay!

How clever of you to sit near the heated clothes drier Letus Grin

Well done on getting on the stepper Helen Star

Your traditional Friday nights sounds awesome Fancy Grin

Hope your eye gets better Apes.

LetUsPrey · 19/10/2025 20:11

Evening wenches.

That’s excellent news re your cough Wicked.

Arm is all better thank you. I’m such a wuss 😁

Quiet time in a morning is so nice. Usual Sunday plus bath’n’book this afternoon.

Is this one of your “I just make the pattern up myself” jumpers Apricot? So impressive. I bet you can freestyle build Lego too and don’t just follow the instructions. I am very much a “do not deviate from instructions” person 😁

FancyFancy · 19/10/2025 21:39

Excellent news re the cough ww and re the stepper helen, not so good about lack-of-sleeping in though! Hope it may be possible to see you when you're over here ww

Hoping my arm isn't worse than yours letus - have my flu jab on Wednesday, I think.

Has been pissing down almost all day here, I didn't therefore get out in the garden to do some weeding - as explained by MrA, there are weeds everywhere... More welcome are the shrubs that are so confused they're in bloom again.

Had a lovely Friday night with DD - although we were both a bit tired, so after a chippie tea & some alcohol we were practically comatose Grin

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2025 06:53

Morning wenches.

Also much rain here yesterday.

<sends bubble wrap for Fancy’s arm just in case>

Urgh back to work after a week off. Not really ready for this but we must.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/10/2025 15:19

Afternoon all. Hope that Apricot's eye is feeling better. v. good news about Wicked's cough being on the way out too.

Yesterday was mostly dry until the evening, and then it started raining, and has been doing that on and off ever since. Yesterday was also another headache day, which got me off spending an hour at 11pm getting a mouse of from behind furniture, but I did lie in bed wondering WTF the manshapes were doing. I also failed to identify the blockage in the bathroom sink pipework, but drain cleaner seems to have done the trick, wherever it was. Long may that last.

Today has involved work calls and vet trips (routine), and work. It's about to involve chocolate too Grin

ApricotCrush · 20/10/2025 17:47

Afternoon. Sun and showers here. Well, it's been a bit of a disastrous day. DH's motorised trolley broke down on the golf course again and he had to push/pull it half the way round himself and came back exhausted. While that was going on I'd put a dark wash on and there was what seemed like a dozen tissues in one of DH's pockets and the whole lot came out covered. I've had his happen before, but never this bad. We've spent most of the afternoon brushing, hoovering and tumble drying it all and I fully expect to be finding bits for the next month. The eye is much better thank you, it was just a bit of strain I think.

Good that your cough is improved WW. The London trip has come round quickly.

Yes, LetUs it's one of my own jumpers. It's cost me nothing as I had a lot of yarn left over from other stuff. I don't do Lego, but DS does; he's currently making a village of it in a spare room. Shock

Sounds like a lovely night you had with DD Fancy.

Eeek re mouse Helen, but at least you didn't have to be involved. Hope the headache has gone.

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2025 20:39

Evening wenches.

Work happened. We shall not speak of it.

That sounds like a whole lot of urrrggghhhhh Helen. Except for the chocolate.

Much urrrgghh for you Apricot and MrApricot also. Oh god, tissues left in pockets in the wash. What a massive pain.

Ooooo at Lego village. Very jealous of that. When I/DH win the lottery jackpot and we have a massive house, one of the rooms will be a Lego room. And there’ll be a library, a jigsaw room, and a knitting/crochet room. Not that I’ve given this a lot of thought 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/10/2025 22:25

I think your lottery house plans sound excellent LetUs.

I hope MrA is ok after his exertions Confused What a pain! And the tissue in the washing . FFs and all that.

I have just avoided another mouse-under-furniture scenario <side-eyes at KillerKitty> I think he's decided that now the weather has turned, he's bringing stuff in to eat, never mind if it's still capable of running away from him. Sad

LetUsPrey · 21/10/2025 06:48

Morning wenches.

You can’t really expect him to dine al fresco in this weather Helen.

Dark etc. Would quite like to not have to go out of the house today. Roadworks abound, although everywench seems to be affected wherever we all are. Le sigh.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2025 09:31

Morning all.

Dark, headache, etc. I also have no desire to leave the house, though fresh air and no screens would be good.

<locks all wenches in the tav and settles in for a snooze>

ApricotCrush · 21/10/2025 17:14

Aftrnoon. Sun and rain again. I have an apple cake in the oven! I sort of made it up as I went along, so goodness knows what it will be like. It smells nice though.

Love the idea of rooms for all the hobbies LetUs. I use one of the bedrooms for my eBay items, but it just looks a shocking mess.

Hope the headache has gone Helen and KillerKitty is behaving himself.

Have a good evening all.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2025 19:28

Evening all. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

It's been a long, but productive day, including pretty much wrapping up a work snafu which was my fault. So I'll be glad to get that done and dusted. KillerKitty has behaved himself so far, but he's been asleep most of the day. (I want to live life as one of my cats.)

DS took it on himself to (get me to help him) bake a cake. Unfortunately we didn't factor in the 'fan oven' in the timings of my pre-fan ovens cook book, so it scorched a bit, but still pretty tasty. I do like an apple cake - with lots of cinnamon and mixed spice. Yum....

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2025 07:11

Morning wenches.

Mmmm two cakes to choose from <helps self to a slice of each>

Rained yesterday a lot. My heel skidded on the stupid smooth paving stones near work which get very slippery in the rain. Must have looked quite a comedy moment as I flailed about, lovely colleague who I was chatting with part catching me, and me grabbing on to a nearby lamppost. Good thing is I didn’t actually hit the ground.

So very dark here. Short work day hurrah.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/10/2025 07:41

Morning all. Very dark, and the alarm woke me up for once (rather than me waking before it starts blaring). DH must be even more tired because usually my alarm wakes him too. High broken cloud and because I don't have DS to chivvy along to college, I've chilled too much and am I'm running late. Ho hum...

Have a good day all, and hope everywench stays upright (as necessary)
<puts LetUs in stabilisers>

ApricotCrush · 22/10/2025 16:28

Afternoon. It was supposed to be sunny today so I washed the bedclothes and put them on the line. Of course it's been cloudy all day so they'll have to be finished off in the tumbler.

I did the opposite to you with the apple cake Helen. My temperature was too low and it was taking ages, but I realised and turned it up. The finished result wasn't very pretty, but it tasted lovely with carton-custard.

Oh LetUs that feeling when you're falling and don't know whether you can save yourself. Glad your colleague and the lamppost were there for you.

Have a good evening all.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 22/10/2025 20:03

Evening wenches.

<has another slice of apple cake>

Being woken by the alarm is impressive Helen.

Managed to stay upright 😁

Have been watching Murder Before Evensong. Enjoying it, although it’s taking a while to not see Matthew Lewis as Neville from Harry Potter.

FancyFancy · 22/10/2025 21:38

Now I want apple cake Grin
Has been a mentally taxing day - really techy stuff - but progress was made so not too bad on the whole. Had my flu jab, so must remember not to sleep on that side tonight!

Did anyone bother with The Forsytes on Monday? I found the changes made to the plot/characters rather distracting at times. Will probably persevere as long it doesn't wind me up too much.

I have now seen the Downton film - absolute tosh of course, but very pretty to look at.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/10/2025 22:54

Evening all. Long day of trying to wrap my head around numbers.
<stuffs face with apple cake>

No Forsythes here or Evensong Murders. We have started vaguely watching Celebrity Traitors though.

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2025 06:53

Morning wenches.

Didn’t watch The Forsyte Saga previously and haven’t read the books so my issue will be trying to remember who everyone is because apparently they didn’t wear name tags 😁

Dark etc and feel like I’m running late even though I’m not.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/10/2025 10:52

Morning all - it's a bit blowy already Confused hope every wench is securely tied down (with the HBF of choice) - illustrates

There's a market there LetUs - or actually, I think the sky box might do it - it you pause or press a button you get a little bar along the bottom telling you which actors are on screen and who they're playing! (Or it's a Disney+ or Prime feature - something will do it anyway.)

ApricotCrush · 23/10/2025 16:24

Afternoon. A bit of everything weather-wise, sun, rain, wind, generally miserable.

We haven't watched The Forsytes, but I do remember the original series in the '60s. It was required viewing on Sunday nights. I'll add Evensong Murders to list of things-to-watch.

Where's all the apple cake gone? Confused

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 23/10/2025 20:48

Evening wenches.

Don’t think it’s a feature on Sky about which actors are on screen, although I’ll look into it.

It’s gone a bit flipping cold. Not too stormy here just yet so that’s something.

No idea where the apple cake’s gone <wipes away crumbs>

LetUsPrey · 24/10/2025 07:22

Morning wenches.

Dark and dismal here. Hope wenches who got the storm are okay.

Friday so hurrah for that.

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 24/10/2025 17:39

Afternoon. Sunny this morning, rain this afternoon, but I don't think we had any of the storm. I did a Sainsbury shop this morning and it has gone much colder.

Nothing going on here, still scanning photos.

Have a good evening all.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/10/2025 18:08

Evening all. Was running late this morning and pings straight into work. It's not been too bad here, weather-wise. Though I've only really been out to feed chickens and move the bin, so my perception isn't based on much!

Apparently I didn't post last night either Hmm there wasn't any wind damage that I've noticed, so hurrah!

I ate the last of the apple flapjack today Grin
