Yikes! Well done Apes 😀

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/10/2025 23:34

Nice selection of coats there Apricot Grin I meant to do a new thread this morning, but got distracted by work and all that, so hurrah for you being organised! Good that Mistry is fine - when WobblyCat went through her throwing up phase it turned out that she had a fairly massive furball causing a blockage. Now she has a laxative gel to help avoid these things. Little money-pit that she is.

How are you doing Wicked? I hope the new cough mix is helping - if only to help you sleep a bit!

Work has been workish - part of the finance system went down, so the days work got crammed into this afternoon (and evening). "Why am I missing £300K?" etc... (Found it, so all good!!)

Happy weekend!

LetUsPrey · 04/10/2025 07:53

Morning wenches.

Excellent new thread Apricot. Pleased that Misty is alright. LetUsCat went through a vom phase but that was solved by cutting out the food in gravy. My dentist appointments are every six months and so is hygienist but it’s worked out they seem to then be at three month intervals. So it’ll be one or the other that coincides with you Apricot 😁

Crikey but the rain yesterday. Got soaked walking to the car park and that was with the Big Coat on. Wind started last night and it’s still going. Plus rain. And I have to go out.

Well done on reconciling your spreadsheets Helen, although I read it at first as recoiling spreadsheets.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/10/2025 09:23

Morning all. I think my dentist only sees me about once a year and doesn't bother with hygienists - they just as how much I floss.

Rain overnight and loads of wind. I had to go out and pick DS up in it, which was fun (he was out at a quiz night). This morning we have wind and sun, so I need to get out and clean the chickens out which it's not raining. <sits on internet>

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 04/10/2025 17:01

Afternoon. Much wind and rain this morning, but it's passed over now and the sun's out. Weird weather. I did a wash load yesterday and it had to dry on the radiators.

Nothing going on here. Have a good evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/10/2025 23:06

Evening all. There was much fruit stewing and roasting today, plus chicken wrangling. That was about it. More rain this afternoon, but the worst of the weather seems to have passed now. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a decent drying day tomorrow and do the washing. Thrilling stuff eh?! Hmm

LetUsPrey · 05/10/2025 07:42

Morning wenches.

Wenches the actual wind and rain yesterday. Absolutely crackers. And we didn’t have anywhere near the worst of it. Seems to have calmed down a bit today although it’s still windy.

Saw DS1 and his girlfriend yesterday. One of the reasons was to collect his card for my mum’s birthday. Any guesses what we both forgot? DS2 cleaned his room. Like properly tidied it and then cleaned his desk. He made a start on the underbed storage cubes too and even got the hoover out.

Today will be the usual.

<awaits crumbles>

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/10/2025 09:13

Morning. It's breezy and sunny. Wobbly cat is asleep on me, I'm I'm pretty sure I cam smell a dead mouse somewhere in here Envy <boak>

Well done to mini-LetUs on the tidying! (Never mind about the card, it's the thought that counts, and all that!)

Have a good day all.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/10/2025 12:56

Afternoon wenches. I'm tired, got up at 6.30 to start work at 7.

I'm still coughing but the new cough medicine helps me sleep, thank f**k for that!

Fräsan is doing fine, she wants to play a lot so thats a relief.

ApricotCrush · 05/10/2025 17:17

Afternoon. Much brighter day, although still a bit windy. We've been peeling and stewing again. I'm getting concerned for the crumbles, as we've been eating the apples with custard, but I may get round to something eventually.

Glad you're managing to get some sleep WW and that Fräsan is well.

Well done to LetUsDS2 and eeek to the possible dead mouse.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/10/2025 19:20

Evening. It's daarrrrk Sad I've had another day of stewing and roasting furit and veg - much tomato soup has been made, and there are pans full of apple/pears. Also no crumble here this weekend - just stewed with ice crem (because I can't be arsed making custard). Mowing has been done as well. And the washing, though it didn't get completely dry on the line, since I put it out too late. Lots of domestic chores basically. And a fecking headache

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend (hurrah for sleep Wicked! - though I am now imaging 'playful' Frasen batting at your face while you're trying to sleep!)

LetUsPrey · 06/10/2025 06:55

Morning wenches.

That’s good that you can actually get some sleep Wicked’s, and that Frasan is feeling better.

Hope you tracked down the source of the smell Helen and that the headache went.

I’ll have double cream on my stewed fruit please.

Yesterday was wind, rain and repeat but it did eventually clear up late afternoon. Usual Sunday. Also forgot to take my cards to my mother’s. Birthday isn’t until later in the week but I was proper cross with myself.

Monday rolls around very quickly doesn’t it? The daaaasark isn’t helping.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/10/2025 07:51

Morning all. Far later night than necessary caused by DS leaving his homework to the last minute, as ever. <le sigh> So he's a walking zombie (with a cricked neck to add to his woes), and I still have the sodding headache lingering in the background. We are both drugged up, as appropriate!

Dull and cloudy outside, but no wind and rain.

At least you haven't missed your Mum's birthday LetUs? Still very irritating though!

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 06/10/2025 17:39

Afternoon. Lovely day, I did some jobs locally this morning, and then this afternoon we sat outside and sudokued. The washing dried as well.

I can't be bothered to make custard either Helen, ours comes out of a carton. Grin Hope MiniHelen's cricked neck and your headache have gone.

Remembering cards can be a pain LetUs. It's DGS2's birthday later this week but DS has collected his card to take with his, so that's off my mind.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/10/2025 19:06

Evening all. The headache has gone - hurrah! I felt really stuffy this morning, and through lunchtime identified that the headache had changed form stabby to thudding, took some sinus tablets, and ta-dah! Headache gone. Still feels like my stomach's taken a punch form the migraine though.

Washing is still in the machine here - I put it on, and DH helpfully opened the door when it was done. And that was it. I forgot about it, he didn't remind me, so it will be hung out tomorrow - part of it is a rug that WobblyCat threw up on <side-eyes at WobblyCat>

Weather has been mostly warm and sunny, and I've been chuntering through spreadsheets.

Hope everywench has had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 06/10/2025 21:21

Evening wenches.

Work was work but I’m another day closer to a week off, without wanting to wish my life away.

Good that the headache went Helen but poor you with the after effects.

That sounds a really nice way to spend a day Apricot, and squeezing the remaining nice weather out of the days 😊

Ah the days of mother making a pint of custard every day in the special Custard Jug. She uses tins or cartons now, although I’m sure father could see off the full jug of custard still 😁

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2025 07:01

Morning wenches.

It seems darker now than when I got up around 2 to use the bathroom.

DS2 got up this morning without being prompted or reminded. Again. Long may this continue.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2025 07:47

Morning all. Sounds like MiniLetUs is enjoying his course if he's getting up unprompted in the mornings - excellent! DS continues to coast and be crowbarred out of bed. Hmm Homeworking gone midnight again last night. We should have insisted that he do homework as soon as he was home from school, to get him in the habit. It would have helped if school had set homework. Hmm He's a bit to big for us to insist on anything these days.
Oh well - we continue to muddle along.

There's a mix of cloud and blue skies here. Some pretty pink clouds first thing have given way to silver and gold. Not going to be as warm today according to the radio - yesterdays washing was draped about the house last night - there doesn't seem to have been much drying.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 07/10/2025 16:50

Afternoon. Not such a nice day, cloudy but no rain.

Well, DH was scheduled to have an operation on his hand today, not the Chainsaw Incident one. I'm not sure what the problem is but it's been very painful and swollen and something to do with tendons. Confused It was at a hospital 15 miles away and DS took him, at 6 o'clock Shock, as I don't know the way and haven't got sat nav. Anyway, the surgeon looked at it and said it was much improved and he didn't think the op was necessary, so he'd see him again in 6 months. Fortunately there was a shuttle bus to our local hospital so I picked him up from there. What a palaver for nothing. Hmm

Oh, memories of homework, horrendous.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2025 21:23

Hope that's good news for MrA, and his hand is actually better.

I have been juggling jobs today, and that's about it. The morning exercise once again left me feeling a bit tired and not energised for the day - ho hum. Weather has been dry, but not warm. The moon was impressive yesterday. but didn't see it rise today and by the time I saw it it wasn't anything special. I think it's gone behind clouds now.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

fancyfancy · 07/10/2025 23:08

Evening
Was at DDad's at the weekend, helped him sort a few things out & he pointed out a good shop local to him where I found an unplanned for birthday present for DD later in the month. So good all round.

Otherwise have been mostly faffing around feeling a bit tired. Work is being work-y, the cats keep bickering & DD started her MSc last week.

I saw the moon yesterday too helen - had not long set off from DDad's, turned a corner and there it was, low in a clear sky and absolutely fucking enormous. I have never seen it that large - wherever I am normally mostly has trees/hills/buildings in the way so I rarely see it that low down. Wish I'd been able to stop and get a photo.

LetUsPrey · 08/10/2025 07:04

Morning wenches.

DS2 hasn’t had a complete personality change and was fairly snappy and rude last night. DS1 was a coaster where schoolwork was concerned but bucked his ideas up in the second year of college.

What a palaver re MrApricot’s hand. Suppose it’s very good news he didn’t need the surgery but it’s still a bit annoying.

Missed the moon. Sorry moon, I forgot about you.

That all sounds very busy but with good bits thrown in. Need to start thinking about DS2’s birthday and then the dreaded December.

Already bored of it being this dark when I get up. Short day at work though.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2025 07:46

Morning all. I anticipate a tedious day ahead of me at BoringOffice Job There's are spreadsheets that don't agree (there are always spreasheets that don't agree) and people are being arses with making it simultaneously v. important to fix, and also not prioritising it. FFS...

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 08/10/2025 17:21

Afternoon. Nice day, I went out to do a top-up food shop this morning and it was quite warm. I did see the moon the other night but it was quite high in the sky as houses and trees get in the way here. I remember once seeing it just above the horizon when we were on the motorway and it was enormous.

DH was going to cancel the operation himself but thought he'd better get a professional opinion about it.

Hope work hasn't been too bad for everywench.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2025 17:21

Evening all. Work was as predicted. Though I did get out of part of a meeting by being too busy fixing spreadsheets Grin We have some new chickens. They're not integrating very well - one is very scaredy and being bullies by the others - she's going to be below bottom of the pecking order with current behaviour Confused And someone has to be bottom, but I'd rather she wasn't utterly bullied by the others.
