Evening wenches.

Blood was taken (when they finally found a vein) and it’s always a treat to have some biscuits afterwards. Sorted out another couple of boxes this morning.

All your lights sound rather lovely.

Am trying to be community minded and donate things to local organisations and charities where the stuff goes direct to people in need, but jeez they don’t make it easy. I’ve left messages two days in a row (online request wouldn’t go through) but haven’t had any response. I understand that they have limited resources etc but a call back would be appreciated. Don’t particularly want to go on the only day they’re open for donations to find they’re either shut, or they don’t want the donation. Whinge over.

Thanks for the cwtches and thoughts re LovelyMIL.

LetUsPrey · 15/10/2025 07:36

Morning wenches.

Am being a taxi service today for DH as his car is in for a service. Is a new journey for me but looks relatively straightforward for a scaredycat <nto> driver.

Not much else planned really.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2025 07:46

Morning all. Damp and a bit dismal again, though the cloud cover isn't wasn't solid when I got up - looking outside, it is now and it's drizzling. Joy.

I know what you mean about the charity thing LetUs - I had a bunch of coats and wanted to donate to a homeless shelter or similar. It was painful and I ended up just lobbing them at a regular charity shop. Good luck with the drive!

Must crack on - BoringOfficeJob calls and the spreadsheets are beckoning.

ApricotCrush · 15/10/2025 16:51

Afternoon. Same weather. I didn’t bother putting the washing out, it’s hanging around the house.

Hope the taxiing went well LetUs, I don’t like having to drive to places I don’t know now.

We’re watching Blue Lights on the iPlayer as recommended by DH’s friends. It’s very good, a bit tense to watch at times, but with some humour to lighten it up.

Evening wenches.

Taxi duties went well, including a quite terrifying junction and massive roundabout that the map was saying go in one lane but I thought I should be in another because it really was not clear. Anyway all safely negotiated and I didn’t even close my eyes 😁

Weather felt rather chilly today.

Contacted another place today about different donations. Nothing from either. If I have no luck by mid-Friday, it’s all going to the charity shop.

DH watches Blue Lights. Loves it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2025 21:41

Evening all. Today was aaaall the spreadsheets. And drizzle. And it was daaaaark by the time I got home after work Sad

You need a dentist sticker LetUs - "I was brave today" Grin

LetUsPrey · 16/10/2025 06:48

Morning wenches.

<proudly wears sticker>

Urgh at dark getting home from work. Clocks going back soon though so it’s going to get worse. Urrrrrrrrghhhhhh. <awards self stating the obvious sticker>

Going to meet DS2 off the bus today as things to do in town. Other than that, nothing definite planned.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/10/2025 13:21

Afternoon all. Dank and dismal still - I feel like a broken record, and also recognise that we've very much in need of more dampness still, after the lack of rain this year.

Nothing else to report really. Late start for DS so I stewed up yet more apples this morning before I took him off to the bus. Bit of exercise class. Made some lunch. Waiting to go and pick DS up again - thursdays are very bitty at the moment.

ApricotCrush · 16/10/2025 16:43

Afternoon. Cloudy and gloomy here too. Not damp though. I suspect washing would have dried but I didn't do any.

On the positive side LetUs it will be lighter in the mornings when the clocks go back, at least for a couple of weeks. Hmm

Oh, we have another bucketful of apples! I have to get some flour to make something with them if I get round to it.

Have a good evening all.

Evening wenches.

It only occurred to me about five minutes ago that it would briefly be a bit lighter in the mornings. Hadn’t twigged before that.

Am rather tired. Been helping DH with more loft organising. Went into community cafe and had a chat about what knitted baby items they want and they also confirmed they’ll take the things I’ve been trying to donate. Hurrah! I’ll take them tomorrow. Met DS2 and did the couple of errands.

<starts up chant of crumble crumble crumble>

FancyFancy · 16/10/2025 21:16

<joins chant>

Hurrah for managing to get rid of the coats!
Have been to work, done laundry and watched some tv - I have been very dull. Bathrooms now pushed back to next week <sighs> Will be glad to not be moving stuff in & out when they're finally done.

DD is due to come round tomorrow for a traditional Friday night Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/10/2025 22:07

'Pink and trashy TV' tomorrow then Fancy? Grin
Excellent news on charity donations LetUs and on sorting out the loft. Ours is full of things that need to be shipped on elsewhere.

LetUsPrey · 17/10/2025 06:54

Morning wenches.

What a fab end of week treat Fancy

Good luck with any loft clearing Helen, at whatever point it happens. There’ll be lots of deep calming breaths and glaring if it’s anything like here 😁

Visit to cafe today to take stuff. Might as well as have cake whilst I’m there 😁

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/10/2025 07:25

Morning all. It's dark outside but the radio says it's quite mild - I haven't been out to check yet. DS was up stupid late doing homework and is going to need a crowbar to get him out of bed this morning <le sigh, etc>

Still, Friday - hurrah!

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 17/10/2025 17:04

Afternoon. Same weather. I did a Lidl shop this morning and carried on with the photos this afternoon.

I have no idea what's in our loft, apart from Christmas stuff, because I've never been up there. Hmm I suppose it'll have to be sorted one day.

Have a lovely evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/10/2025 21:13

Evening all. Work was work and I'm a broken record tiiiiiiiiiired. Heading for bath/bed shortly I think. And chocolate.

LetUsPrey · 17/10/2025 21:47

Evening wenches.

Not entirely sure what I did today for the most part. I can tell you what DH did because he told me allllll about it, explained it beforehand, said he was about to do the thing, and then told me about it. Many different things over the week. It’s great he’s so busy and does get stuff done but I don’t need to know every single thing. <breathe>

Took the stuff to the community tea room and had tea and a “small” slice of home made Victoria sponge which was delicious and almost as big as my head.

LetUsPrey · 18/10/2025 07:42

Morning wenches.

Another cold dismal day. Better get used to it.

Having my flu jab this morning. Other plans include washing and housework and probably being shouted at by DS2 who was in a right mood late last night. Sigh.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/10/2025 11:26

Morning all. I've had a cat-interrupted lie-in, and then went on the stepper for the first time in months! <awards self gold star> and have been bumbling about doing domestic stuff. I need to go out and plant bulbs, but I'm not full of enthusiasm...

Hope the flu jab goes ok LetUs - I haven't sorted one out yet. DH has had his and complained that his arm was really sore for the rest of the day.

ApricotCrush · 18/10/2025 16:40

Afternoon. Dismal and cold here too. We’re only putting the heating on in the evening but I think we need it all day now. Although I have Misty-the-hot-water-bottle on my lap at the moment.

Your DH sounds so like mine LetUs. He’s been in the garden weeding and I’ve had to hear how they haven’t germinated because of the dry weather but they’re ALL doing it now.

We haven’t had our flu jabs either, I must make an appointment.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 18/10/2025 19:24

Evening wenches.

I can confirm that arm is sore and achy. Woe woe woe. At least I remembered to get it in my left arm because I sleep on my right.

Well done on using the stepper Helen ⭐ there you go, that’s for you.

No heating here yet although I’ve been cheating by sitting in the room that has the heated clothes drier in it.

Housework and knitting today. Taxi duty tonight for DH but it’s not too late.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/10/2025 21:57

Evening all. I planted the bulbs - hurrah! I did domestic stuff - yay! We can't fimd me keys for DH's car - arghhhhh! They're always in the same place and I don't remember when I last used them, or when someone else (DH) used them because he couldn't be bothered getting his. He is a stress bunny.

Star for LetUs on being brave and getting jabbed
Star for DH who has found the keys... in my dressing gown pocket. WTF? But whatever - yay!

Weather has been dull and not warm.

LetUsPrey · 19/10/2025 08:41

Morning wenches.

Oh that feeling when you can’t find. Set of keys. Well done to MrHelen. And also well done to you Helen for all the domestic stuff!

It’s actually quite bright this morning which makes a pleasant change.

Usual Sunday with added shouting at the football later from DH and DS2.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/10/2025 09:02

Morning all. Lots of cloud here, but some's quite high, so it's not too dull. DH and DS were being sporting all day yesterday - DS did about 10 hours helping/participating, so both the other are whacked and we have no plans for the day. Or rather, DS has plans that involve sleep and lie-ins. I tried to go back to bed after feeding livestock, but DH started snoring, WobblyCat was having a snorty-snuffly wash, and I was on the end of the bed with sod all duvet. Plus I was hungry, so I got up. Hoorah Hmm I shall read my book in peace and quiet though.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 19/10/2025 16:26

Afternoon. Chucking it down here since lunchtime. And it seems to be getting dark already.

I’ve found a jumper that I was knitting last winter and had put away. It’s nearly finished so I’m carrying on with that. I’m giving the photos a rest because my right eye is aching and I think it’s eye strain from looking at the screen.

Aww at WobblyCat having a snorty-snuffly wash.

Hope the arm is recovering LetUs.
