Is anyone watching this at the moment? What do you think about the Laura/Garry/Ian/Lynne storyline? Do you think Laura is behaving unreasonably? Should Garry have to live up to his responsibilities?

I think he probably should, but that Laura is out of order - she keeps going on about 'What sort of a man cheats on his wife for a quickie when he's drunk?' when of course, that's exactly what she's done (but obviously to her husband!).

yes but she cheated on ian beale, its a hard one because lynne cheated twice on him, but with laura pregnant she will have her face rubbed in it every day. well at least they can practice their lines of an evening together while at home (laura and gary).

From what I have read there could be a twist and maybe she actually slept with more than one that night!

mieow · 07/01/2003 06:45

I hope the baby will come out half-cast, that will throw a spanner in the works!!!!!!!!!!! Could be Gus or Paul then!!!!!!

mieow · 07/01/2003 06:46

I hate Laura anyway and before anyone says it "I know its only a programme!!!!!!!!!!"

EmmaTMG · 07/01/2003 07:46

I find the entire programme aload of old tosh even though I watch it virtually every time it's on, Well I look at it more than watch it.
Anyway on the topic of the laura V's Lynne story, they made it so obvious that garry was going to be in the frame in the pre-xmas run up with the 2 unlucky ladies talking about babies etc that it's bound to some-one else. That sound's abit odd though doesn't it.
What I would also like to add about the Xmas day and Jamie dying episode. I thought it was so unnecessary that such a horribly depressing thing should happen on Xmas day. Phil's acting was very good and almost looked real but the rest of it was really bad. Nice things should happen on Xmas day but then it is Albert Square.
And I hear myself shout "IT'S ONLY A PROGRAMME".
All this I've just said I don't like the programme, am I a hypocrite or what!
By the way and this is a personal opinion. Does anyone else think Laura has fallen from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. OHHH and hypocrite and a bitch. And Yes, of course I could give any of the super models a run for their money even if I am only 5'4" with a widening backside. Sorry about that!

i was the omnibus yesterday and garry said "he wasn't going to lose everything for a 30 second (or simliar) fumble down the back of an alley" and which point laura replied "so you do remember". knowing eastenders and how they have bought the who's the father storyline out now, means that no way laura will give birth to this baby. miscarrige with all the stress is probably on the cards, or she might have an abortion to get back with darling ian.

I think its nice to see people like laura in soaps because we do all moan when its full of stick-insects. I do get annoyed that when she is mentioned in the soap section in the mirror its always as 'LARDY LAURA' I don't think that she is fat, overweight perhaps. What do you think?

Totally changing the subject but still on soaps. TRACEY BARLOW now she needs a slap.

bundle · 07/01/2003 09:18

I agree re: Laura's body shape, it's a refreshing change to see a real woman on tv. she's had a complete personality transplant if you think back though to when she first arrived...same with Lisa's transformation
re: Tracey, yes she needs a good slap, maybe she's hoping to be the Street's Janine..now that particular slapper is behaving herself for 5 mins

bluestar · 07/01/2003 10:32

Agree that Tracey needs a big slap. Laura - why is it that in 'real life' people try to get pregnant for ages but in soapland, a quick drunken fumble in an alleyway results in immediate conception! Perhaps that is where we are all going wrong!! Was alright for Ian to pay a prostitute though! Such double standards in soapland - again it was alright for Ken to cheat but not the other way round.

bundle · 07/01/2003 10:35

are there any 'normal' couples in soapland? or do they have to be dysfunctional..eg divorced, splitting, shagging first love/their mum/their daughter??
very disappointed by Natalie as her & Barry were only 'married' couple about at the moment.

breeze · 07/01/2003 11:13

bundle & bluestar.

agree totally with you, the only couple i can think of in soap land is jack and vera (god bless them), i hope that steve and karen stay married because i think that they are brilliant, but i think i have read somewhere that she has an affair with joe.

I feel pregnant at the first attempt, drunk with my boyfriend/now hubby, but i do recon that if soapland was like 'real life' we probaby wouldn't watch it. Ian has been slapped in the face by steven so probably doesn't want to raise another kid that's not his.

I agree with natalie/barry, he might be a bit of a pratt but he loves natalie and would do anything for her, especially on the night of their anniversary. typical eastenders though.

I must admit that when i row with my hubby i throw back in his face every tiny little thing, so why didn't deidre throw wendy crozier in his face. do they think that soap viewers have really short memories.

On another soap subject it is really bugging me where the women if from that is quizzing louise (emmerdale) about ray's death.

I'd heard Tony Caunter (Roy) was leaving. It's a shame. He's one of the best actors in Eastenders and I'll miss him. So long as they keep Pat, she is wonderful!

breeze · 07/01/2003 15:42

batters, do you have a little crush on roy?!!!!, all i heard was that his contract had expired and wouldn't be renewing it and he would not be returning. I do think that you need a balance or old/young people. I think the way barry/roy act together is so fully. I was a bit gutted too.

JaneyT · 07/01/2003 15:44

I was surprised to see Mark back - is this permanent?

Ems · 07/01/2003 15:47

Marks going to die from Aids, but he is going to go away to die to spare his family (and us) from witnessing it.

breeze · 07/01/2003 15:52

god didn't hear that one, i am glad that they are not showing this storyline, quite shocked as they normally go for this sort of thing. any one know any more.

I did hear a massive storyline though......oh sorry ds needs my attention

donnie · 07/01/2003 15:52

let's hope not, as his fruit and veg are more interesting than him aren't they ???? and they have better dialogue. Robbie is also leaving isn't he, apparently he got the chop against his will...and are the rumours about Grant making a return true ? what a heady and exciting world soapland is....and Crossroads is back next week so I'm in 7th heaven y'all....

breeze · 07/01/2003 15:55

yeah i quite liked the old crossroads (not the one 15 years ago), but they are supposed to have a new cast. I think some should have gone, but not all. did like Jake a but yummy

breeze · 07/01/2003 16:03

did read that mark was going to work in the bill, do the take all eastenders cast offs. would love to see grant back but can't see it.
oh and peggy takes a year off,

happydays · 07/01/2003 21:09

WHEN CROSSROADS COME BACK, IS IT GOING TO BE ONE OF THOSE THAT START ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER THE LAST STORYLINE, I DO HOPE THAT THEY FINISH THEM OFF, IE NICOLA IN HOSPITAL ETC ETC.

I HEARD THAT JAKE, PHIL AND BILLY (GOOD) HAVE LEFT BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS. ANY IDEA'S
