Is anyone watching this at the moment? What do you think about the Laura/Garry/Ian/Lynne storyline? Do you think Laura is behaving unreasonably? Should Garry have to live up to his responsibilities?

I think he probably should, but that Laura is out of order - she keeps going on about 'What sort of a man cheats on his wife for a quickie when he's drunk?' when of course, that's exactly what she's done (but obviously to her husband!).

Come on... didnt anyone spot this earlier??? I twigged this within her first few outings. It just seemed so obvious! Perhaps I should go into writing these things!!

AngieL · 14/02/2003 20:44

Did anyone watch this tonight? I must confess I was a bit emotional!

prufrock · 14/02/2003 21:36

Thank you angieL I thought it was just me being pathetic!

Queenie · 14/02/2003 21:39

Love her or hate her, you can't but feel sorry for Pauline knowing her son is going away to die and that she will never see him again. Although my children make it hard for me to hear the programme am beconing adept at lip reading.

jessi · 14/02/2003 22:04

Cried my eyes out and asked dh to turn over,he thought I was very funny...did wonder if it was pregnancy hormones??!!

Chiccadum · 14/02/2003 22:07

Missed tonights episode completely. What went on please tell in brief, I won't be able to catcy Sundays omnibus and never ever get to watch things i've taped

mears · 14/02/2003 22:50

I cried my eyes out and I am not pregnant - just tipsy on wine mind you.

Mark eventually told Pauline that he will never be back because he is dying. She said such sob inducing things about being a parent not wanting to see achild die etc. Very sad. He then rode off into the night on his motorbike.

lou33 · 15/02/2003 11:39

Ia anyone watching the episodes in advance on bbc3? We are an eastenders addicted household so it's like a big treat for us.

Zoe · 15/02/2003 14:46

I think I cried because of her saying things like "But you're my baby boy" - I don't give two hoots about Mark Fowler or Pauline for that matter, but I think you put yourself in that situation and it can make you emotional - I'm much more emotional since I had my son in any case.

lou33 · 15/02/2003 15:50

I agree Zoe, things like that always get to me. I shed a few tears last night over 200 acres of sky too. Personally I think eastenders is well rid of the bloke who plays mark fowler, he has to get the award for most wooden actor (unless of course they brought back ali osman!).

Tinker · 15/02/2003 15:53

Don't forget the great Cassie Carpenter.

lou33 · 15/02/2003 18:45

OOh yeh I had actually!

breeze · 10/03/2003 16:26

Please tell me its true that Dan Sullivan is coming back. He is so lovely.

breeze · 10/03/2003 16:38

Is anyone else getting fed up with the natalie/barry/ricky storyline.

Moomin · 10/03/2003 19:05

I'm sure they just dig out old scripts and just change the characters. Am I the only one who is p*ed off with this scene:

Hussy of the moment: "**[insert name of cuckolded spouse]. I've got something to tell you..."
Innocent spouse: "Yes and I've got sg to tell you - I love you and I can't wait to move into our new house / have the new baby / get married [whatever positive news of the moment is]. I'm happier now than I've ever been in my life. By the way, what did you want to say?"
Hussy: "Oh, ...nothing...." [Grimaces into camera as innocent spouse happily hugs them.]

Perhaps Eastenders and Corrie just swap scripts and scribble out Barry/Ricky/Natalie or Peter/Shelley/Lucy, as appropriate.

tech · 10/03/2003 20:17

When Jim was making his pro and con list for Dot and Doris, I found myself thinking "Doesn't he watch Friends?". Don't suppose he does though, as he is getting on a bit. Oh yes, and on account of him not being real, like.

breeze · 11/03/2003 12:35

Just read that Barry Evans got the sack, and others are to follow. The next in line to go are, Sam Mitchell, Vicki Fowler, Paul Truman and his dad Patrick.

JaneyT · 11/03/2003 13:32

Yes apparantly they wouldn't give Barry time off to do panto, so he is leaving the show so that he can do it ! And apparantly he earns £180k in Eastenders.

Moomin · 11/03/2003 19:51

Re. the characters Breeze has detailed below: Good, good, good, good and good.

Chiccadum · 12/03/2003 19:23

Don't want Paul Truman and his dad to go I think they are quite funny.

lou33 · 13/03/2003 17:05

I agree, but they can definitley get rid of Vicki, and Roy's off too, hoorah!

snowbird · 13/03/2003 19:02

I missed last nights, dp was watching the football! Can anyone fill me in before tonights episode? What happened with Nat & Barry? Did she still leave with Ricky? Thanks.

Claireandrich · 13/03/2003 19:48

No she went on her own. Janine told Natalie about Ricky sleeping with Sam last wek. Natalie and Ricky then had a row in the pub. Natalie then said she couldn't be with either of them, and went off in the car with Jack.

Really annoyed, Just sat down to watch the omnibus of eastenders and found Dh has recorded a film over it. I really wanted to watch this one as you found out about Lisa and whether Phil actually killed her. Please tell me all that happened. Thanks

lou33 · 01/04/2003 10:17

Basically Phil hired a private detective to find Lisa, tried to make it up with her and get them all to go home together. When she refused and tried to do a runner he followed her in a car, caught up with her when she got a flat tyre (near a cliff), and persuaded her to come away from the edge. He gave her his jacket because she was cold and it was starting to rain, which is how her blood got on it because she walked into a tree branch when she was trying to hide from him. They all went into a disused house to shelter from the rain, and then Lisa started telling him about a nightmare she has, about the baby she miscarried and her dead father. Phil saw this as his opportunity to exploit her fragile state of mind, and said she was unfit to be a mum , that he was going to take Louise, that she couldn't support themselves on her own etc. Lisa still wouldn't hand her over so he said if she didn't he would tell the police that she tried to kill him. So she agreed to let him have Louise, but he said she had to physically give the baby to him, which she did. She then ran out back to the cliff, and phil went after her to get his jacket back. He walked away with Lisa shouting to the baby that she loved her and not to forget her, and the baby calling for her mum. It left Portugal with Lisa sobbing right by the edge of the cliff. Then it flicked back to Walford, where he told Kate he would feel forever guilty for breaking Lisa like that, but he thought it was for the best. Then Kate decided she loved Phil so much she wasn't going to carry on using the wire that she was wearing, took it off and told the police she was quitting because she was going to be with Phil. Phil heard her mobile phone ringing and reached into her bag to give it to Kate, only to find the wire inside! She told him the truth, and that she loved him, but he told her he never wanted to see her again, after showing her a ring he was about to propose with!

Think I got it all in there, in fact I think I might have covered 2 episodes!
