Morning wenches.

If we have any rain forecast, which I think we do in just over a week, I’ll try to send it your way Helen.

We have sun but it’s a bit chilly.

Meeting BestFriend this morning and then DS1 and his girlfriend are coming round for lunch.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/04/2025 08:46

Morning all. Lots of sun here. WobblyCat is busy having a good chin rub on any edges she can fine to rub up against. I have gardening to do. A chainsaw may be involved Grin

ApricotCrush · 05/04/2025 16:06

Afternoon. Weather the same. It looks lovely and I tried sitting outside but the wind is still very cold.

That sounds like a lovely day LetUs.

Chainsaw Helen??? Shock Shock Goodness, be careful.

LetUsPrey · 05/04/2025 19:56

Evening wenches.

Hope the chainsawing went well and safely Helen.

Washing done. The laundry basket is actually empty! I’ve even done the ironing so I’ve given myself a free morning tomorrow. Had a lovely meet up with BestFriend and then even managed to sit out this afternoon because our bench is in quite a sheltered spot. So nice to see DS1 and his girlfriend.

FancyFancy · 05/04/2025 20:41

Evening
Have had a productive afternoon in the garden. Like Helen I could do with some rain though, it's getting very dry out there and the water butt is running low already. Chonk and Floof are enjoying the better weather though and are outside more, it's nice to see them enjoying themselves out there.

LetUsPrey · 06/04/2025 08:28

Morning wenches.

Awww at Chonk and Floof enjoying the sunshine outside

Sunny again here. Usual Sunday except I did the ironing yesterday so I shall spend that time making flapjacks.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/04/2025 09:40

Morning. Oooh - flapjacks! Though I need to use up eggs really.

Much gardening and chainsawing was done yesterday, and then we went out in the evening to catch up with a friend at a party but I was very tired and grumpy by the time we left and forgot to say goodbye to some people. oops.

There will be more chainsawing today I think. plus general garden tidying etc etc.

ApricotCrush · 06/04/2025 17:01

Afternoon. The wind wasn’t so cold today so we sat outside this afternoon and sudokued. That’s it really.

I’m not surprised you were tired after all that Helen.

Awww at Chonk and Floof.

<pinches flapjack>

Evening wenches.

Lovely day. Usual visits to and from parents and LovelyMIL, then I’ve been sitting outside on the sheltered bench with my knitting. Have been rewatching Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries when I’ve been inside.

Have a minute at some point Helen before you completely knacker yourself.

<makes more flapjacks and puts them on the bar>

FancyFancy · 06/04/2025 21:01

Flapjacks? <drools>

More done in the garden, am feeling really pleased with the progress. Still a way to go but have been talking about doing this particular project for years ages, so it feels good to actually be doing it!

DS was round earlier for a belated Mother's Day - we went to a local bar for lunch and he bought me a silly present 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/04/2025 21:49

Evening all. It's been sunny today, but the wind if pretty nippy. I was less busy in the garden today but still a bit achey. I was going to have a bath but it's getting a bit late for that. We'll see.

Sitting on a bench knitting sounds very civilised - I can't get to mine without scrambling over pots and compost and suchlike. I wish I wasn't so inherently messy.

Think I might head for that bath now and fall asleep in it

LetUsPrey · 07/04/2025 07:19

Morning wenches.

Oooo Fancy you will be all the smug when your garden project is done! And justifiably so!

Hope you got your bath Helen, and didn’t fall asleep in it.

Sunny here but the cars are frosted over.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/04/2025 10:33

Morning all. No frost here, but then it's Easter Holidays, and I didn't crawl out of bed until 8am so there may well have been one that burnt off before I emerged..

I ache from gardening efforts over the weekend. DS has his GF over, so he's happy.

Must get back to work...

ApricotCrush · 07/04/2025 16:56

Afternoon. Lovely day again, I’ve been sitting outside and DH has been doing some weeding because he’s bored. He shouldn’t be doing anything but I can’t stop him. Hmm

I went to Lidl this morning and someone in a huge van parked so close to my door I couldn’t even open it so I had to get in the other side. The central console is really high so I sat on it and dropped into my seat but then I couldn’t get my legs under the steering wheel. I hauled myself back up and then went in feet first. It wasn’t a pretty sight, I hope no-one was watching. Grin It got worse when I got home as I have to lock my door with the key rather than the fob so I couldn’t get out and had to do the reverse action. God knows what I’ve done to my back.

Bench knitting does sound lovely.

Well done on all the gardening Helen and Fancy.

LetUsPrey · 07/04/2025 20:08

Evening wenches.

Not surprised you’re aching after all that gardening Helen.

What an absolute tosspot that person was Apricot. I hope they have an inconvenient mechanical issue <nae>. Hope you don’t suffer any after effects.

Work happened and I’m tired.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/04/2025 21:40

Evening all. I shall second the wish for a 'mechanical failure' on the van driver Apricot. And also send HBF Drs to pay a visit.

I had spreadsheet wrangling again today, trying to reconcile lots of different data sources. Plus lots of reminder emails to send. <le sigh>

It has been sunny and warm, and then cold when the sun started to drop.

LetUsPrey · 08/04/2025 07:24

Morning wenches.

It’s properly chilly until the sun gets going and then, like you said Helen, noticeably colder quite quickly of an evening.

Washing’s out though. Might try to wrestle DS2’s snoodie thingy into the machine this week.

Not slept well and woke up with a headache. And NC’s just messaged to say she’s ill so won’t be in (she’ll be properly poorly to not come into the office) so that’ll be fun.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/04/2025 08:49

Morning all. I am enjoying the peace and quiet in a sunny window seat while everyone else is asleep. (Though lots of 'chirpy fucker' birds outside, so not entirely peaceful, but it's a nice noise!)

Today is a day off, hurrah - out for lunch and off to the cinema tonight to see Six, because I missed it at the actual theatre.

Good luck with work LetUs - poor NC, and also poor you as a result!

ApricotCrush · 08/04/2025 17:04

Afternoon. It was surprisingly cloudy this morning but brightened up this afternoon so we sat outside for a couple of hours. It’s gone chilly now though. We’re putting the heating on in the evening.

Hope work hasn’t been too bad LetUs and Helen has enjoyed her day off.

LetUsPrey · 08/04/2025 20:51

Evening wenches.

Had a battle with a printer this morning. Sent through several groups of documents, multiple copies, in a specific order for putting together in numbered sections. Sounds easy enough. No no, says printer, let me send through your printing not in the correct order. In fact, let me really mix those sections up for you. Bastard.

Ooo I quite fancy watching Six but never got round to it. Hope it was good Helen and you’ve had a super day.

We’ve still got the heating on of an evening too Apricot.

LetUsPrey · 09/04/2025 07:31

Morning wenches.

Doesn’t feel quite as chilly this morning. I’m at the “hmm when did I last wash all the dressing gowns” stage.

NC still poorly and it’s my early finish. What will they do if they need something doing? They’ll have to ask someone else or - gasp - do it themselves.

Hope wenches also have beautiful weather and can make the most of it.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/04/2025 07:45

Morning all. Tiiiiiiiiiiired. It's cloudy out there Shock but no rain or anything helpful like that. Don't think there's any forecast either, btu I live in hope of a bit.

Yesterday was fun - huge portion of fish'n'chips so we asked for a doggy bag at the end - and they binned out leftovers Shock So then sent us away with another portion Grin Six was really good - would recommend. There was a 'behind the scenes' film at the start which was a bit Hmm - lots of gushing videos about how awesome it was and screaming crowds and stuff, but the show was excellent. Lots of people there who'd clearly seen in live - 'got the T-shirt' and debriefs in the toilet afterwards about what they'd noticed on the screen that they hadn't picked up on from the stage show. Weirdos - who analyses entertainment that much! Hmm Grin So anyway - worth a trip to the cinema is it's on locally near you. Got back late-ish and then had to ice a cake and tidy up after myself, so bed even later. (Tiired)

I have WobblyCat asleep on me. We're nearly out of drugs and the vet won't give us more without seeing her because they haven't drained enough money out of out bank accounts need to check on how she's doing Hmm Ho hum. IdiotKitty has just sauntered in and curled up on a beanbag.

That printer can FTFO LetUs, and so can anyone who complains about you working to your normal hours today and tried to throw urgent work at you as you're about to leave. Also, heating is still kicking in here too, especially in the mornings (It's only April).

Hope everywench has a good day. BoringOfficeJob calls...

ApricotCrush · 09/04/2025 16:52

Afternoon. Lovely day again and we sat outside this afternoon. I washed our dressing gowns last week LetUs but I didn’t have a full load today.

Boo for unco-operative printer and greedy vet but yay for cinema trip and early finish.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 09/04/2025 19:53

Evening wenches.

Mmmm fish and chips. Good to know re Six Helen. No cinema anymore locally sadly (and I’m too lazy to drive to BigTowns just for cinema). Hope WobblyCat is okay.

Feels like a waste of a drying day doesn’t it Apricot if you’ve no washing to put out?

Email came through about 10 seconds before I was logging off saying “can you help with this please”. Did a quick reply saying I’d deal with it in the morning.

Plan to do nothing but knit or crochet for the rest of the evening, I’ve got some glow in the dark yarn and remain astonished that it actually works 😁 Doing some stars and moons for one of the rapidly growing family babies.

FancyFancy · 09/04/2025 21:34

Evening
Had a relatively productive day - worked from home & finished one job off in between making tea for the gardener. He did the usual spring tidy up & it's looking good.

Glow in the dark yarn?! I never knew that was a thing!

I think we had your clouds from yesterday apricot, blimey it was chilly here.

Vets really can be infuriating, they tried that with my old dog - wanted him to have a blood test to check organ function - the poor old thing was about 15/16 years old and on the heaviest duty drugs for arthritis available. I did get them to admit that if the tests came back showing reduced function that there was bugger all they could really do, so what was the point?

Speaking of pets - Chonk & Floof had their worm meds today - Chonk ate dinner so fast he didn't even notice the pill, Floof picked carefully around it so had to have it administered to him. I have a scratched leg Hmm
