Busy day tomorrow then Apricot - good luck with all the shuttling!

The headache did FTFO, but I've felt a bit off all day. Woe is me, etc. Got a decent amount of work done one I'd got rid of it though, so that was good.

Today's joy and delight of things going wrong in the house... I found a mushroom growing out through a crack from under the shower tray Shock The shower room has always been slightly damp, but a mushroom?! About the size of a 2p piece. I thought it was a very dusty bouncy rubber ball to start with, then I put my glasses on... So we're going to have to investigate what's going on under there. <huge eye-roll at our ridiculous house>

LetUsPrey · 15/04/2025 07:18

Morning wenches.

Sunshine all gone now, back to dreary.

Eeeek at mushroom Helen. Although perhaps you don’t mind finding a fun guy in your shower. See what I did there. I’ll get my coat.

Good luck today Apricot with all the ferrying and scheduling. That sort of thing stresses me out but you’ll be fine.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/04/2025 07:31

Morning all. High cloud this morning and some (not much) rain overnight. It's not completely dreary.

<arf> at the fun guy in my shower. Grin Grin Grin

ApricotCrush · 15/04/2025 17:18

Afternoon. We had some rain overnight, but nothing today.

I fetched DS from the garage this morning and DH came with me (and DGS) as he wanted DS to carry some stuff from the garden centre on the way as he’s not supposed to lift anything heavier than a kettle. It was a good job he was with me as I had another vision disturbance not far from DS’s office and we had to swap over at some traffic lights. He’s not supposed to drive, but it really was an emergency. They only last for half an hour but I can’t see properly,

Shock at mushroom Helen, but Grin at fun guy.

Evening wenches.

Dreary day continued but no actual rain.

That sounds rather scary Apricot. Visit to the GP?

Busy at work. Looking forward to the long weekend.

FancyFancy · 15/04/2025 20:47

Evening
Rather disruptive day with lots of parental stuff, but it was at least productive in that respect. Less so on the work front, so am working this evening.

Badoom-tish letus Grin

Eek helen, fingers crossed for nothing too sinister under the shower tray!

That sounds rather scary apricot, I hope you're feeling ok now?

Chonk was very off colour on Sunday evening - think he got into a fight. Finally got close enough to him yesterday evening and detected something afoot in the fur behind an ear. He seems more back to himself today & did sleep on my bed as usual last night, so hopefully he's on the mend. Appetite is 100% unaffected, the greedy sod. Good progress made on the garden project - now I just need to buy some more plants Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/04/2025 21:11

Evening all. Today I have been headless chickening again with domestic stuff and work and helping neighbours out. The shower room fun guy has not been investigated and we'll probably keep forgetting without the visual reminder of the mushroom growing there. <le sigh>

Eek re. off-colour Chonk Fancy, fingers crossed he's feeling better and no medical intervention is needed. The vet saw that WobblyCat had a scratch on her last visit, which she keeps reopening (by scratching it) and said that steroids might be needed - but they can't be taken with her anti-wobble medicine so she'd better just get better. Also hurrah for progress with parental issues and the garden project.

That sounds like my visual migraine things Apricot - they're a complete nuisance. DH had to take over driving for me once as well. I can't remember if I bothered the GP with them. That was in the days I didn't need glasses, so I just shrugged them off.

We have had rain... Grin

FancyFancy · 15/04/2025 21:13

Much rain here last night too, much relief as the garden really needed it.

LetUsPrey · 16/04/2025 07:23

Morning wenches.

That sounds a day and a half Fancy. Progress is all good though. I’ll just have to buy more plants sounds similar to my I’ll just have to buy more yarn 😁 Hope Chonk’s okay.

Rain here too. Blackbird is sitting on his usual perch on top of the tree in the front garden, singing his little heart out. Didn’t mind so much this morning because I was awake before him.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/04/2025 07:46

Morning all. Rain overnight and I added 'Re-plant.protect bluebells to this morning's chores when I noticed some had been dug up. <Side-eyes at next doors chickens which keep coming to visit, despite the 'keep your chickens under cover' order that's in force.>

Work today and dropping off birthday presents on my way home.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 16/04/2025 17:35

Afternoon. More rain overnight but none since although there is a very cold wind. I’ve been performing open fluff surgery on DGS’s teddy, his neck was very floppy.

I don’t think they know what causes the vision disturbances or how to prevent them; they’re migraine related although I don’t get a migraine with them. I’ve been having them for over 20 years, I usually have a run of two or three in a week and then nothing for six months or so. Hmm

Hope Chonk is alright.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 16/04/2025 19:44

I have visual migraine as well, but not that often. They usually pops up when I'm stressed. Bit scary the first time, thought I was having a stroke.

My condition has flared up again so that's dissapointing, thought I was getting rid of it. Also my nearest boss since 10 years died suddenly of a heart attack, the whole company is in total shock. Makes you think about how fragile life is.

Hope Chonk is feeling better ❤

Yikes at mushroom under the shower Helen.

😄at fun guy Letus took me a while

LetUsPrey · 16/04/2025 20:18

Evening wenches.

Rain for most of the day, then rain and then later this afternoon RAIN AND WIND. I was back to big coat today.

<Paddington hard stare> at next door not keeping their chickens undercover Helen.

Awww at open fluff surgery.

These headaches and visual stuff wenches are getting sound fecking awful and quite scary.

Oh Wicked that’s a lot that’s going on. Look after yourself properly and give yourself a bit of time.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/04/2025 22:48

Evening all. Tiiiiiiiiiiired (so I should go the fuck to bed, as the book says).

Work was mostly tedious proof reading. Weather has been ok - no rain here, and breezy rather than windy,

<cwtch> Wicked - that sort of thing really gives you a jolt Sad and FFS about your flare-up. Annoying an depressing in equal measure I should think.

I used to do open fluff surgery on my teddy too - the same floppy neck syndrome Grin

LetUsPrey · 17/04/2025 07:18

Morning wenches.

Hope you did as you told yourself Helen and went the fuck to bed. And actually got some sleep.

Sun is shining here. Our forecast is now dry for the long weekend which I don’t believe for a second but we shall see.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/04/2025 08:52

Morning all. Sunny here too, though I've no idea of the actual forecast.

I did go to bed LetUs, but only after doing a sudoku, tidying the kitchen etc etc,. I should have breakfast and crack on with work...

ApricotCrush · 17/04/2025 16:25

Afternoon. Sunny morning but it’s clouded over now. We had DGS with us again today. DH had him mowing the lawn, I think he quite enjoyed it.

Oh WW, I am sorry, both about your flare-up and your colleague, that is a shock. Take care of yourself. <cwtch>

We’re going to the caravan tomorrow. We were intending to go next week but DD & Co want to go for the weekend and we’ve got to go as well as the plumbing has to be set up. DH is allowed to drive now and hopefully there won’t be any heavy lifting. We can fill and empty the cases from the boot. I’ll try to keep in touch, if the internet is working. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 17/04/2025 20:08

Evening wenches.

Flipping knackered after a very busy day, yawning already.

Oh that’s going to be handy Apricot when grandchildren start getting old enough with stuff like mowing the lawn and you call tell they’re being super helpful 😁. My mum and dad used to do it to the DC all the time.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/04/2025 23:01

Evening all. I worked. But also bought wood for the raised bed, so it's wasn't all work. Trying to arrange to meet up with a friend by we're both being hopeless about 'what shall we do?'. We'll wing it...

LetUsPrey · 18/04/2025 07:39

Morning wenches.

Looks dry for now which is just as well as the washing basket went from hmm I’ll have a full wash tomorrow possibly to there’s enough for a week in the blink of an eye.

Have a lovely time Apricot.

Winging can produce the best times Helen.

Off to LittleSis’s this evening and I’m making dessert. Breakfast first though.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/04/2025 12:21

Afternoon. I am having a 'meh' day, Heading out to meet friend soon though, where we will slump at her kitchen table... Bit of a waste of the lovely weather, but we might wander out for a walk too.

LetUsPrey · 18/04/2025 21:50

Evening wenches.

Ah but sometimes a slump with a friend is what’s needed Helen.

I finished a jigsaw although annoyingly a corner piece is missing. I suspect it fell on the floor after I’d sorted pieces before beginning to make it and someone <side eyes at DH> vacuumed it up. Also baked a dessert which went down very well this evening at LittleSis’s. Something else that went down well - stop it - was a very nice vodka she had.

Otherwise I rather ambitiously put a line of washing out but then it rained.

Second Harry Potter film is on. I flipping love Gilderoy Lockhart, he’s such a prat 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/04/2025 22:19

Evening all. No rain here, so I did some creosoting of wood and sheds. Didn't do any washing either, which I meant to, but hey ho.

Hope that Apricot had a decent drive to the caravan.

<arf> at things going down well Grin Bloody annoying about the missing jigsaw piece though.

LetUsPrey · 19/04/2025 08:09

Morning wenches.

Was just about to put the washing out, started raining.

Today’s excitement is going to collect a prescription. Truly we are living the dream 😁

Have lovely days wenches.

FancyFancy · 19/04/2025 15:30

Afternoon

In news that will surprise no-one, I went to the garden centre yesterday & bought some new plants Grin They have now all been planted & I'm nearly there with the bottom-of-the-garden project - just a few plants to get when they are in stock. When I say finished, that's Phase 1 - there's a few other things I want to get done there, but they will hopefully be smaller jobs.

Fingers crossed for a speedy journey for apricot too

Grin at today's excitement letus. I do have washing out, so if you can keep the rain up there for a bit I'd be grateful.

Creosote - now that's a smell that takes me right back helen

<cwtches> ww what a difficult week
