Morning. I woke up to mostly blue skies and some sunshine, with ominous clouds. The OminousClouds have taken over and just started emptying all over us. Both cats are curled up snoring balls of fur on the sofa/chair - it is not warm. I won't be surprised if DH asks me to light a fire later (he's on invalid duties for a few weeks).

Agreed re. the high street LetUs - I try to avoid Amazon where possible, but our local high street is mostly charity shops and hairdressers.

Hope that Apricot and Misty had a nice night (or two) starfish-ing across the bed

I have to do morning exercise thing and then work.

Afternoon. I’ve been doing a bit of tidying up in the garden, as it’s bin day tomorrow. Misty was very confused about DH not being here. She spent some of the night on his side of the bed.

I don’t think I’ll bother with the Strike book, I’ll wait for the TV series. I wrote all the characters down when reading the last one I read and had to keep referring to it. It’s just too much hard work.

Hope shopping with your Mum went well LetUs. I used to meet my Mum in the lunchtime when we both worked in town but that seems a lifetime ago now. I like shopping with DD too, but that’s usually something like Dunelm or a garden centre now. We tend to buy clothes online as all the nice shops have closed.

Oh dear lord - the manshapes have new earbuds and can't hear anything when they're in - DS is shout-talking with no clue what volume he's producing. He's just stuck them in my ears and they're rather good though.

I don't remember the last time I went shopping with someone as a social thing rather than grim necessity.

It was more a necessity shopping trip with mother - she wanted some photo frames - but it was nice to be out and about with her.

I’m being very lucky with the weather this week. It’s dry and has gone warmer than it was last week so I actually managed to get some washing dry outside.

You’ll have to get some sort of stick to poke them with Helen if they start shout-talking again 😁

Working from home today so have taken advantage of the sun to get some washing out - it's not drying that much as it's quite chilly, but I tried

That is sad re M&S apricot, they're useful to have close by for basics and you can buy from the website and collect instore which I find convenient too.

I have friends staying for a few days so it's a busy week, especially as I was away at the weekend - DSis & DBIL took Dad out for a birthday lunch & we visited my stepmum too. All went well, so Dad seemed chuffed.

Afternoon. Dry day, but not much sun and it is getting colder. No washing done here.

DH has earbuds which he sometimes uses when driving to the caravan to listen to podcasts. He can’t hear me when I say anything and shouts when he speaks. I usually sit in the back with Misty in her little cage, she’s more company.

That's shite Wicked I hope the cough eases up soon. Def. agreed re. Strike - I also seemed to have missed how they worked out who dunnit/what had happened, and I'm not sure I can cope with wading back though it to find out. It all felt very convoluted.

I tidied the paperwork mountain yesterday which included lots of birthday cards and similar. Found a card from mum and dad which still had the birthday money in it (and it was from about three years ago) so that was a lovely surprise.

Morning all. DS has his late start today, so hurrah for lie-ins. Except I woke up at the usual time with a headache, so got up and have been bumbling about the house since then. FML, etc.

Still, it's sunny outside, so that's nice.

Afternoon. Cloudy and miserable here all day, and cold. DH is back later and I'm going to ask him to put the heating on.

Update on Google PhotoScan. It's swings and roundabouts really. You take four pics and it puts them together, then you can crop and 'enhance' but it's still a photo of a photo and quality is lost and these are old photos anyway, so not as clear as digital. They are then quicker to get into my albums but it's still a faff, so I'm back to using the scanner on my printer. Either way it's a long job, but I'm doing a bit at a time and enjoying it.

Evening all. In a virtual repeat of last Saturday, I took DS off to SportingActivity for the day and managed to leave behind my phone PLUS my entire bag containing purse and a book to pass the time. FML. DH came too and had to pay for everything. Also, I didn't lock my keys in the car, which I nearly did when I put them down inside the boot. The boot was on auto-close when I realised I didn't have the keys I my pocket and hung onto it for grim death to stop it shutting and locking me out. I think I shall never use the 'open boot without unlocking the car' function again.

On the plus side, DS has been more cheerful today, and it's been dry and mostly warm in the sun.

Hope that everywench has had a good day and Apricot had a lovely meal out. We have pizzas in the oven, and a slow cooked casserole on the go for reheating tomorrow.

Morning all. another early start today. The sun is just coming up and sky is mostly clear with high peachy clouds and silver vapour trails. Very scenic. The forecast is cloudy, but no rain was forecast when I looked last night.

Afternoon, it's been a beautiful day. I sat outside for an hour or so earlier, the sun is still hot. Unfortuntely I didn't do any of the washing DH has brought home with him. Oh and he's come back with grazes all over his forehead and nose. Fell over apparently. Alcohol may have been involved.

Phew Helen for remembering the keys were in the boot. I don't think I can open my boot without unlocking the door, but I remember when I was at work before DC I was always locking myself out of the car. I ended up with four sets of keys and yes, I locked them all in the car on one occasion.
