Evening all. It stayed dry here, though I didn't make any sort of use of it. I had a headache hangover for a lot of the day which was a bit grim. So work was a bit half arsed. No windows were cleaned.

Ho hum. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and the headache will be long gone.

LetUsPrey · 08/09/2025 21:43

Evening wenches.

Work was busy which wasn’t a surprise.

Oh Helen, middle of the night indigestion is particularly awful for some reason. Hope you’re feeling better by tomorrow and WobblyCat’s okay.

I think you’re getting the thunder we keep being promised here Apricot as well as your own. Impressed with the productivity!

LetUsPrey · 09/09/2025 07:28

Morning wenches.

Sunshine and bright here.

No doubt another busy day ahead but better than being bored I suppose. Somewhere in the middle would be nice.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/09/2025 08:54

Morning all. Hazy sunshine here. More headache and indigestion here which is annoying and inconvenient. (And I need to put asprin on the shopping list at the rate I'm chugging through it). Ho hum - this too shall pass, etc. Off to not-so-early morning exercise class now where I shall burp eat everyone

Hope everyone has a good day.

ApricotCrush · 09/09/2025 16:47

Afternoon. Cloudy all day but no rain and quite warm. More windows cleaned. Oh, spoke/typed too soon, it’s now raining. DH is still painting outside, so he won’t be pleased.

Oh Helen, the headaches and indigestion are annoying, hope you’re feeling better now.

Have a good evening all.

Evening all. No rain here, though apparently we may get some tomorrow.

Work was working and I was fairly un productive until about 5om when I suddenly had a fit of badly timed motivation. The exercise class was hard work - coordination was involved, and speed.

Now I've faffed far too late and need to get ready for tomorrow.

LetUsPrey · 10/09/2025 07:24

Morning wenches.

Work’s been rather busy.

Hope the exercises have shifted some of the indigestion Helen.

I don’t think we had rain yesterday but it’s forecast to throw it down this afternoon, just as I’m running a lot of errands after work. Thunder too so this will probably be the time of actually shows up.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/09/2025 07:54

Morning! Running late.... <burps slightly>
<runs>

have a good day all

ApricotCrush · 10/09/2025 16:17

Afternoon. Cloudy and showery here. I went out this morning to do some jobs locally and managed to dodge the rain. Nothing else going on.

We have a funeral to go to tomorrow, an aunt of DH’s. She’s the last of the generation above us on both sides. There will probably be people there we haven’t seen for donkey’s years, so we’ll spend a lot of time saying “who are you”. Confused

Hope a good day has been had by all.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 10/09/2025 18:13

Evening wenches.

Rain just as I left work. Number of thunder claps - zero.

That’s sad about the last one of a generation going Apricot. Hope tomorrow goes okay.

DS2 is being very very tetchy. I suspect he’s super anxious about starting university next week (mate, so am I) but he won’t ever admit it. Can’t tell you how relieved I am that he’s going somewhere where he can commute from home.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/09/2025 22:03

Evening all. Bit of rain here this evening, but nothing much. Work was very 'meh', and I left half an hour early (hurrah for flex).

I hope the funeral goes well tomorrow Apricot, it's a very odd feeling when the last one of a generation dies.

Good luck to MiniLetUs for next week - hurrah for him being able to commute from home though. DS shows no signs of being any further forward with ideas for his future. <le sigh>

LetUsPrey · 11/09/2025 07:15

Morning wenches.

Worst night’s sleep for a while which is saying something. On with the day I suppose.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/09/2025 12:59

Afternoon all. Turns out DS does have a late start on Thursdays, so of course I woke up at 6am from a dream where I was trying to fix a work problem - and then lay in bed worrying and trying to work out how to fix this non-existent dream-only problem. FFS at my brain. Did get back to sleep, but then had random dream about doing up a huge wrecked house/castle/something, where I decided that we should start by mapping the place and counting rooms.

We've had sunshine and fluffy clouds most of the day, but the clouds are starting to look a bit grey and threatening now.

<matchsticks> for LetUs and hope Apricot's day goes ok.
<search party for Fancy and Wicked>

ApricotCrush · 11/09/2025 16:02

Afternoon. Nice weather this morning but it threw it down later. Good that it held off as the funeral was a burial and we would have got soaked. It was quite a light-hearted affair, she was 91 after all, and it was nice to meet up with DH’s cousins who we haven’t seen for years.

DGD is commuting to university too LetUs. It is a big transition for them, I’m sure DS2 will be fine.

I love property dreams Helen, particularly when I discover new parts of our house I never knew existed. Confused

LetUsPrey · 11/09/2025 20:10

Evening wenches.

Busy dreams can be exhausting Helen.

That sounds a good funeral Apricot and phew for the rain holding off.

We had lots and lots of rain. And thunder! Just the one but thunder!

Had a little nap at lunchtime, or at least I think I did. You know when you think you’ve dozed a little bit but you’re not sure?

FancyFancy · 11/09/2025 22:04

Evening
Has felt like a strange week - tube strikes, lots of traffic, roadworks <bores self> TCFKAC & Floof had a bit of a scrap a couple of days ago, possibly over who got to lie on an ants' nest in the garden <eyerolls>

Glad the funeral went ok apricot & keeping fingers crossed for DS starting next week letus. Commiseration *helen8, it is tough when they are dragging their feet......

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/09/2025 22:16

Evening all. We had a bit of rain, but no thunder. Work was workish. I like the idea of a lunchtime nap Grin

LetUsPrey · 12/09/2025 07:16

Morning wenches.

That sounds a week of awkwardness and urgh Fancy.

If I’d had a cushion or pillow yesterday instead of putting my head on my arms, I think I would have properly drifted off.

Flipping cold this morning. Not keen.

Hope Wicked’s feeling better.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/09/2025 10:44

Morning all. In today's excitement, I couldn't find my car keys this morning to take DS to the bus. Found them in my car still, complete with a flat battery. Oops. So I grabbed DH's keys and delivered DS just in time for the bus. My car battery is now plugged in to a charger.
Still, at least the weather seems nice at the moment, if a bit blowy.

<cbf> at TCFKAC and Floof for scrapping, and at the tube strikes, roadworks and generally tedious shitness of adult life.
<lobs pillows at everyone for a general snooze>

ApricotCrush · 12/09/2025 17:08

Afternoon. It is cold first thing but it’s been a nice day, I managed an hour outside this afternoon.

Grin at TCFKAC and Floof fighting over an ants’ nest.

Flat batteries are a pain, much sympathy Helen.

Have a good evening all. Wine

Morning wenches.

Fairly tiring week but weekend is here so hurrah!

I was eyeing up the central heating control yesterday morning but it felt way too early. Doesn’t seem as chilly today.

Wish I had enough money to pay someone to do all adulting for me, that’d be nice.

Errands again to hopefully collect prescription, pick up new book <squeee>, take DS2 shopping.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/09/2025 11:01

Morning all. Yesterday's flat battery was recovered in time to fetch DS - hurrah for DH's battery charger. Then work was workish and last night I picked up a book and read all night without any technology being turned on. Was rather nice.

Today I have fruit to sort out before it goes off. There are surprisingly few windfalls in the garden, given how blowy it's been though.

Fingers crossed for the prescription LetUs, and <squee> for you at new book. I still haven't been out to get the new Strike. I keep threatening to give DS one of my book tokens and make him do it for me on the way home - which would get me the book, but deprive me of a bookshop visit. Confused
Have a good day all.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/09/2025 11:15

So glad it's the weekend!

I've bought the new Strike so will start reading it today probably. I've discovered a couple of Murder She Wrote movies on the telly so I'm planning to watch those while trying to finish my jigsaw.

I've been worried about Fräsan, she's been out of sorts, but looks like she's getting better now hopefully.

Still coughing and have a runny nose, so irritating.

Angry at flat battery Helen, glad that it got sorted.

Enjoy the new book Letus Smile

Glad the funeral went well Apes.

Hope TCFKAC and Floof behave themselves Hmm

FancyFancy · 13/09/2025 11:58

Morning
World Athletics Championships started today so am catching up on the overnight action, bliss.

Glad you're recovering ww and hope those lingering symptoms bugger off soon. Fingers crossed for Frasan too.

Sounds like a lovely evening Helen , no chance of that here with the athletics on 😁

It certainly is chillier Letus, a colleague read somewhere that it takes 2 to 3 weeks to adjust to changing temperatures, so I'm trying to bear that in mind!

The cats really are a pair of chumps apricot, I bet Misty wouldn't be so undignified! They have calmed down but there is lots of slapping at meal times.

ApricotCrush · 13/09/2025 17:07

Afternoon. Sun and showers here. We’ve been talking about the central heating, but it does seem too early and I’d like to wait until October. Yes Fancy I’ve heard that about adjusting to temperatures.

I haven’t read the last Strike book yet, must get round to it before the new series starts. Hope Fräsan is alright WW.

Enjoy your books Helen and LetUs.
