Evening all. Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiierd. But the plums are stewed and tomatoes souped. Plus DS room has been rearranged so now he has a desk in his room for homework Hmm and the bookcase is elsewhere, and we've spent and evening hunting for missing lego bits. I think I'm allowed to be tired Grin Bed will happen shortly.

Hope everyone's has a good day and the athletics are living up to expectations. Mornings are chillier - I'm sticking a fleece on over my PJs most mornings when I get up. Not full on fluffy dressing gown weather yet though. Also, there are loads of holly berries - are they early? It feels very early for them <shrug>

LetUsPrey · 13/09/2025 23:28

Evening wenches.

Prescription was collected, book was collected but I’ve not started it yet, took DS2 shopping “just try the bloody trainers on”, and I managed to avoid the many episodes of torrential rain.

That’s interesting about the time taken to adjust to changes in temperature.

Hope Fräsan’s okay Wicked.

Also been watching some athletics.

I should have been in bed ages ago.

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2025 07:51

Morning wenches.

Ironing all done. Another quite grey morning and a hopefully usual Sunday ahead.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2025 09:45

Morning all. Bright and sunny here.

Still tired - couldn't get to sleep last night, then woke up at 6am - realised there's no point in trying to get back to sleep because I'd only stress about livestock wanting to be fed. Then I sent back to bed and lay there for ages, but did get back to sleep eventually for a bit.

Had the best example of the blind illogiality of dreams though - had a dream where the bedroom window started off as a normal window, then became a fireplace (with fire) - still with the curtains in place, and then IdiotKitty brought a mouse in, which escaped and hid in the snow on the ground (indoors, in the bedroom) and none of this seemed odd to me. I even had to pull one curtain out of the fire before it went up in flames, without thinking that the fire really shouldn't have curtains at all. Uttler bonkers. Grin

ApricotCrush · 14/09/2025 16:52

Afternoon. It started off dry and rather cold but has rained since mid-morning. I’ve done bugger all but it doesn’t matter.

Our holly tree has had an abundance of berries for about three weeks now Helen; I thought it was early. How they’re still around at Christmas I don’t know, the birds will have had them all way before then. That was a bonkers dream. Hmm

Have a good evening all.

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2025 19:48

Evening wenches.

It doesn’t matter one bit Apricot that you’ve done bugger all. You’ve probably done - and still do - enough zooming around for several lifetimes.

Things like that seem so reasonable in dreams Helen. Totally crackers otherwise.

Usual Sunday bits and bobs. Watched some athletics, done some crochet, trying to ignore impending Monday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2025 21:25

Evening all.

Not to worry Apricot - I've done your share of ''getting stuff done' - I don't think I've stopped, other than hanging about looking a bit awkward while DS met up with his GF for a formal splitting up meeting, while me and her mother muttered at each other trying to work out what was going on Confused. (We actually get on really well, so it's very inconsiderate of our children to split up.)

DH has his hernia op next week, so we spent a lot of time this afternoon lugging wood about to get it split and stacked while he still can, and then the rain came in so I spent the rest of the day cooking. <wilts>

The manshapes are currently doodling about on guitars, with DS trying to show DH how to play... something. Might be Arctic Monkeys.

Hope hum - hope everyone gets a good night's sleep.

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2025 07:25

Morning wenches.

Bit breezy isn’t it?

Sounds knackering Helen. Good luck to MrH. DH had that done quite a few years ago. Neither of us were used to him not being able to get on with stuff.

Not such a great sleep but we move.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/09/2025 07:45

Morning all. Tis the season of mellow fruitfulness, etc... and for hornets to start squeezing in through windows that are on the latch. They don't do well with being hoovered up though, so that'll learn it. (I do feel a bit mean, it was just sitting on the light minding its own business, but I couldn't catch it from there to chuck it back out and it was bed time.)

College run beckons. Hopefully we won't be blown away on route and end on on a weird yellow brick road... (now if Dorothy had woken up in the garrison of course, that would be another matter and an entirely different film. Dorothy would have been burning those ruby slippers to make sure she didn't get sent home on accident!)

On that little flight of fancy<nto> have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 15/09/2025 15:35

Afternoon. Yes, a tad windy here too, and showery. I did a food shop, collected a prescription and posted a parcel this morning and managed to avoid getting wet.

What is it with men and hernias? DH was fine after his op earlier this year, but very frustrated that he couldn’t lift anything, or play golf of course. DS was born with one, but it didn’t show itself until he was 3, scared the life out of me. He was operated on when he was 4 and missed starting school by a couple of weeks.

That’s a shame about DS breaking up with his GF, particularly as you get on well with her mother, but they’re young for anything serious. Having said that though, DH and I met when we were 16. Hmm

We’re going to DD’s later for a takeaway as it’s DGS’s birthday.

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2025 20:34

Evening wenches.

I missed that about DS Helen. Hope he’s okay. 😁 At Dorothy

Happy birthday to DGS Apricot. Hope the takeaway was delicious.

Bloody freezing (only a slight exaggeration) at work. Rather busy again. Wind and rain and urgh. Had a bath and started my new book but I was feeling a bit sleepy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/09/2025 20:52

Evening all. I'm soooooo tired <whinge> and not too sure why. Probably later nights than sensible, and up for the college run.

It's still windy here, though it warmed up through the day. We had some rain too, but not buckets.

Hope that Apricot's takeaway was good and DGS had a good birthday.

LetUsPrey · 16/09/2025 07:10

Morning wenches.

Rain, wind, etc.

DS2’s first day today (well, it’s induction week). Not sure who’s more nervous, although he’d never admit it.

Hoping the weather calms down.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/09/2025 07:28

Morning all. Lots of high cloud about this morning, but also sun. And the wind, of course - though not as bad as yesterday.

Fingers crossed for MiniLetUs and induction!

Have a good day all.

FancyFancy · 16/09/2025 13:28

Afternoon
I've managed not to be blown away - blimey it was windy yesterday!

Not much to report really., have been mostly watching the athletics which is a very pleasant way to spend the weekend, especially as the weather was not great. We did have a few rumbles of thunder one afternoon but nothing spectacular.

That does sound awkward helen, hope DS is ok.

Fingers crossed for MiniLetus today!

What was the takeaway apricot?

ApricotCrush · 16/09/2025 17:16

Afternoon. Still very windy but quite bright. DH’s car was back at the garage as the computer is malfunctioning since it was serviced Hmm and it’s telling him lies about stuff. I bloody hate having to ferry him around because as I’ve said before he keeps telling me what to do and it makes me a nervous wreck and I end up shouting at him. Anyway the garage hadn’t got the right equipment so it’s got to go back again on Thursday. Angry

The takeaway was Chinese Fancy and it was very nice and DGS has had a good birthday which usually spreads over a couple of days.

Hope LetUsDS2 has had a good day. DGD started yesterday and was fine according to DS.

LetUsPrey · 16/09/2025 21:07

Evening wenches.

DS2 said it was “good”. Not managed to get any further information from him but he seems happy. Pleased it went well for DGD Apricot.

I managed to catch the end of the pole vault yesterday Fancy (when I was at work sshhhhh) which was excellent.

Windy and rainy again and cold. Just settling down for the final of Sewing Bee.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/09/2025 21:59

Evening all. We haven't had any rain thank goodness and it's not too cold yet. I have been adulting again today with a second attempt to get into the bank account that I'd lost the log in for - success this time, but OMG the barrage of 2 factor authentication texts from different banks with different security codes Shock

Then went to see Dad and sat de-burring dogs (much to their squirmy disgust), before coming home and spending the rest of the evening in the kitchen. Until now of course, because I'm having late food and an internet mooch.

Good to hear that all mini-wenches have got on ok for First day at uni. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2025 07:32

Morning wenches.

Rain. So much rain, but it does seem a little bit warmer.

That sounds an awful lot more adulting Helen.

I seem to have slept through to about 5.45. I feel like I should get a sticker that says “Good Girl” on it or something 😁

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2025 07:34

Morning all.

Raaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiin, Clouuuuud. Daaaaaaaaark. The fluffy dressing gown is on. Winter is coming. Also, tiiiired. <le sigh> I've just given DS the third 'get up' reminder <le sigh, again.> He has just shuffled in.

Have a good day all - hope that there is sunshine somewhere!

ApricotCrush · 17/09/2025 17:42

Afternoon. Showers, wind, bit of sun, etc. Definitely feels very autumnal now.

I've been going through our old photographs because DS wants me to put ALL of them onto a memory stick. I can see his point, they're all over the place and they'll never get them into any order after, well, you know what, and they'll be fighting over who gets what. Hmm I've digitised a lot of them, but there are thousands more that haven't been. I think there's something you can get that makes it easy, I'll have to do some research.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/09/2025 20:25

Evening wenches.

You should speak to my younger Dsis about organising and digitising photos Apricot - I suspect you’d get on rather well 😁

Fluffy dressing gown also making an appearance here Helen. It was cold in the office so it was a bit of a shock to leave the office and find it was rather warm!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2025 22:46

Evening all. I have been out for quiz and chips, which was fun. We had rain until mid afternoon, then it dried up. Still quite windy though.

We have loads of family photos. We used to have some really good software which would let you organise and tag them, but it was free and got discontinued. Sad

LetUsPrey · 18/09/2025 06:55

Morning wenches.

Quiz and chips sounds a most excellent way to spend an evening Helen.

Definitely not as cold this morning. Woohoo! I did think it was Friday though so that’s a bit of a bugger.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/09/2025 09:40

Morning all. It was lovely and sunny when I got up - then the clouds rolled over. But now we have sunshine again so I don't know what the weather plans to do today. I don't trust the clouds not to dump down with rain though. I didn't need the fluffy dressing gown this morning, which was nice.

This is DS's '2 hours of college' day, plus late-morning exercise class, so my day is completely broken up and work will be v. bitty. Oh well. I'll just have to exercise some self-discipline and crack on when I get the chance. Hmm I don't rate my chances!
