Work was a grind - my motivation was just sub zero Nothing disastrous, just wading through lots of emails and trying to look at different tasks... urgh.

A flipping manic week with 3 deadlines. Most stressful part was when I couldn't open the new bottle of vodka this evening 😱

Don't worry, I did get it open finally <takes a large swig> Decided to have it with a bottle of cranberry and ginger tonic that needed to be used up. It had been lingering around for ages as I didn't much like it last time I had it, not sure what's changed but I'm really quite enjoying it tonight. Maybe it's best drunk a year after it's best before date? 🤣

Dry and sunny today ooooooo. Met up with BestFriend this morning, then usual house stuff and some knitting. Visiting ILs this afternoon, then back home for more knitting. Have given DH a lift out and am collecting him later.

Morning. Also dull but dry here. I have started the day off by pouring milk all over the throw and my dressing gown. Hence the washing machine is beeping at me like the needy little sod it is.... Also, Intelligent Cat keeps farting in my general direction. Boak. (Not envy).

We have occasional snow here but it's April so nothing unusual.

Up early yesterday for an MRI-appointment. The x-ray nurse was a boy of about 12, I felt extremely old Tomorrow I have an appointment at the dermatology clinic.

Fancy I've had that problem with a wine I really like but the screw cap is fastened so tight so I always have to use some sort of equipment to get it open so I just stopped buying it.

at IntelligentCat, sometimes Fräsan does that and it's smells like something died.

Evening all. Intelligent cat has also caused much alarm by farting at DS as well, so DH looked on the internet for reasons for cats smelling and was worried until I pointed out that she was just dropping 'silent but deadly' bombs.

You haven't missed much Apricot if your weather was like ours - looked lovely but the wind has been really cold, so not as nice outside as it looked. Sympathies on the lack of time to yourself

Today has mostly been inefficient gardening, though I also rescued a bumblebee, which was a very 'feelgood' result (It was drowning in a bucket of water so I scooped it out and dried it with a tissue then put it on a dandelion where it had a bit of a wash and brush-up, then flew off. Hurrah!)

Good luck with tomorrow's appointment Wicked. Fingers crossed for a decent Monday for everyone. I'm going to do a sudoko and go to bed...

Have also had a pootling sort of a Sunday - have gathered up a few bits to go to the charity shop & the tip tomorrow, a bit of cleaning, made a few phone calls etc. etc. Now just generally pratting about on the internet when I should be heading for bed.

I’ve been mainly doing admin jobs today.

Awww I know how you feel about the bumblebee Helen. I found one on the terrace exhausted in the heat last summer and put a little puddle of water with a bit of sugar in it in front of him. He hoovered it up and flew away. Lovely!

Boring but necessary admin jobs at work today (high-five with apricot), plus a polite-but-firm push-back email on someone who is chancing their arm. Hopefully that's shut down, but I'll wait for the response before I stand down on that one.

It's been chilly again, but not as cold as yesterday. Tomorrow I am in BigCity for a work event, so that will be a long day. I had been thinking about mooching happily about doing sightseeing before work, and then DH asked if there was a dress code. I have had to rethink my jeans/t-shirt/fleece/trainers clothing plans! And add an umbrella to my 'things to take'.

Urgh wenches, Morning. It's dull and grey.

A chicken kicked off at just before 6am and woke me up, so I lay there for a while, then thought I'd better go and check. They'd shut up by the time I got to the back door, of course. So now I'm a bit tired. Ho hum...

Also, eek. I have just seen my hair in the mirror. I'll need to do something about that before I go out. (I slept on it wet and it's... odd. Think Alice, in 'Dilbert' levels of odd, but worse.)

Are we talking Crystal Tipps levels Helen? If I overdo the hair product and special blow dryer I sometimes use, I look like the woman who runs the orphanage in Despicable Me. Generally it’s more scarecrow from Wizard of Oz.

Went to work, remained baffled by how some people are crap but think they’re doing a really good job, came home. Took about an extra 30 minutes to get home so but knackered when I got in. Have done a bit of knitting but could see I was about to stuff it up so I’ve packed it away for tonight.
