Change of circumstances dla wait time 2022

Hi I am a single mother of a 9 year old boy with JIA , I put in a change of circumstances to dla as he gets low care but this was awarded for his mental health before his diagnosis and change in care needs . I have been told my application must sit in queue for 17 weeks before it’s looked at . I have been doing some research online about this wait time and seem to find nothing . Would love some advise on other people currently waiting on a coc .

We got a blue badge for our son from being a baby due to the medical equipment we needed for him just apply to your local council.

Anyone applied for a CEA card for the cinema just received ours thought it might be beneficial for those who are successful with a dla claim you can apply for one from aged 5 years and entitles a carer to go to the cinema with the child for free

Oh think it was part 4 it was lianney84 shes just put it on tonight saying she rang today for her coc as her scan dates 22nd of june she was told they are working on the 14th of june and hers will be more end of the month x

@Mkd1322 i haven’t rang again. I will ring on Friday. Mine should be done then, fingers crossed!

@Cass29 @Liverpoolgirl40 i just called up, mine still isn't even with a decision maker yet. I asked what dates they are working on and she said they have stopped giving them due to different people working on different dates and they are not being accurate x

@Mkd1322 how come they are all different saying different things someone gets told they are on the 14th but you and @Liverpoolgirl40 are not sorted yet . Bet you are fed up now i know i am . Wouldn't be bad if they stuck the expected times and different information wasnt being giving out to people x

@Mkd1322 ive just rang 2 had the most nicest person ever really helpful to. So he said this is the guide only but they are actually only on up to the 9th what hes aware of . He said for me i should have a decision by the end of next week . He said watch out for a txt some people get them some people dont but said hes popped a note on my file to say i have contacted them to chase it up x

I don’t think they know their bums from their elbows. Every time I ring the time increases. Ridiculous.

@Liverpoolgirl40 he was lovely tbh. But he did say thats just a guide as some work quicker than others so he can see the info they get is the 9th but some can be ahead so maybe they are up to the 9th to 14th maybe and some might be still working up till the 9th lol i do know though they can get through them quick because when i first applied few yr back i rang them and he had said oh its not been looked at yet or with anyone that was a friday i woke up the Tuesday after with the payments in lol so who knows x

@Liverpoolgirl40 june 16th . @Lianney84 he said mine should be done by end of next week but we will see lol. And also he said it was just guidance the dates they give out but as far as he knew by what he could see it was the 9th but basically they all work at different times as some are quicker x

I’d love to know why the waiting times are increasing. Mind you, I have a friend who works for the DWP doing assessments, and she said staff are leaving in droves!

@Liverpoolgirl40 yeah my sister works for dwp not the dla end and she comes home deflated most days she gets bomb threats and all sorts i dont think its an easy job for them . Im always polite on the phone as its not there fault . But i do think something needs done to make assessments done quicker etc x

@Cass29 god, that is awful! Something does need to be done as the waiting times are beyond a joke! Not fair at all

@Liverpoolgirl40 i agree the waiting times are horrendous especially for coc etc its lyk 5 month . I think a lot more people apply now aswell compared to a few year ago and probz dont have the staff to cope with it all xx

@Cass29 yep! People are more aware of what they are entitled to now. Something needs to change as it’s disgusting, and getting worse! Hopefully we all hear soon xx

Ive just been on facebook and tgerw is a page for dla support. Someone posted they sent coc off october and has already been delt with and from September 😐 im happy for them but im also fuming that ours are taking so damn long it's not fare.

@Mkd1322 well im disgusted at that not against the person but how can that be allowed when we have waited 5 month for ours still not to be looked at xx
