Hi I am a single mother of a 9 year old boy with JIA , I put in a change of circumstances to dla as he gets low care but this was awarded for his mental health before his diagnosis and change in care needs . I have been told my application must sit in queue for 17 weeks before it’s looked at . I have been doing some research online about this wait time and seem to find nothing . Would love some advise on other people currently waiting on a coc .

Jneill2021 · 09/10/2023 10:09

That's terrible I would ring and complain I've seen a few people do that and they put a note on system to hurry it along? Have you called them ? As if its with a decision maker depending on if they make phone calls about the claim can stay with then for a couple weeks xx

xJessxx · 10/10/2023 13:24

Have you heard yet

I have just rang again .. a decision was made yesterday and we have been awarded high for both. So glad its over. Just letting you know on here my scan date was 6th April so 27 weeks today. Good luck to you all.

ACNbb · 12/10/2023 13:11

Did you receive a text from them saying it was awarded as my claim been with a decision maker for 3 days now and no new I rang again yesterday afternoon and was still with a Decision maker how long shall I leave it before I ring again ?

xJessxx · 12/10/2023 13:20

I'm quite surprised yours is with a decision maker as they are currently only working on claims for the first week of April and yours is from June. Mine was with decision maker for 2days but some do take longer. Ring anytime you want maybe Monday they will have new info for you

Jneill2021 · 12/10/2023 13:56

Mines may I rang last week and nothing just said 27 weeks ques coming down slowly, makes me want to ring again lol xx
