They skewered baby Jesus also Grin

ApricotCrush · 06/10/2021 17:25

Afternoon. Nice day here, but I didn't have enough washing for a load.

Cute slippers WW. Grin and Shock at the nativity candles.

I think the fact that I'm slipperless stems from the fact that I've worn high heels since I was 14 (not for school obviously) and there have always been dire warnings about deformed feet, bunions and corns, but I have none of those because I've always walked around barefoot at home to compensate, even in the garden. Anyway, I think I'll get some slippers for the winter.

Back from meal at Indian restaurant, same we went to a month ago. The food is so good Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/10/2021 22:18

Have been visiting a friend for wine and blether, and home via the Chinese takeaway (oink!) Grin
no home cooking for us tonight!

Hope that LetUs has had a better day

LetUsPrey · 06/10/2021 22:58

Evening wenches.

Much better day today. Despite the telephone appointment for DS2 that was basically fecking useless. Collected outfit from alterations woman, wrapped wedding gifts, encouraged DS2 to do homework.

Meals out/takeaways sound delicious!

I had my heels on (to practice standing in them for this Saturday) whilst I was ironing and I thought of you Apricot Grin

hayloft for me

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2021 08:32

Morning wenches.

Another day, another blaaaaahhhhhh. Still at least it’s not raining.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2021 09:31

Looks dry today. Am doing a finance course - yawn...

have a Good day all

FancyFancy · 07/10/2021 13:23

I'd missed that nativity thingy Grin

I now have a full tank - had to queue for it for about 15/20 minutes, but now should be ok for 3 weeks as long as I don't do much beyond commute/go to FancyMan's/do a food shop.

Need to catch up on washing, but nothing seems to dry in the garden at the moment, even on a dry day.

ApricotCrush · 07/10/2021 17:00

Afternoon. Bit miserable here, but no rain.

Yay for meals out, wedding prep and full tank.

I'd fall over, my balance isn't what it was. Grin

We don’t have a fuel shortage but it costs a bloody fortune Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2021 20:53

Evening. The course was ok actually. Even quite interesting!

FFS at the useless telephone appointment LetUs but I'm impressed with the ironing in heels. As are the HBFs Grin

The weather was quite nice today - we had sunshine, blue sky and everything Shock

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2021 22:32

Evening wenches.

Hurrah for fuel Fancy! Hurrah for actually a bit interesting finance course!

The heels aren’t that high but they’re narrower than what I’m used to wearing so I thought I’d better have a practice. HBFs are welcome to help.

Been a here, there and everywhere sort of evening and now I’m knackered.

LetUsPrey · 08/10/2021 07:43

Morning wenches.

Not raining and I think there’s a hint of sunshine. Not tempting me to put the washing out even with DS1 at home all day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2021 14:31

Afternoon wenches. Have been at hospital with DS for a check-up. All is fine except he's not allowed to do any sports that might involve him falling over (which is, actually, a normal risk of day-to-day life) for another 8 weeks Shock

It was misty/foggy this morning and it's now just grey and cloudy and generally 'meh'

Swagger Inn 170. Autumn is here with a vengeance. I think we'll just hide under the duvet --with HBFs-- until Spring.
ApricotCrush · 08/10/2021 17:13

Afternoon. Same weather here. I put a load of towels on the line this morning and they've just hung there limply all day and not done much. Hmm

Glad that MiniHelen is progressing well, although Shock at 8 weeks.

Hope the wedding goes well LetUs, and a good time is had by all.

Best of luck for the wedding Letus have a fab time.

Worky McWork. Have one of the newbies working for me at the moment, a few cultural quirks but she is very keen to learn and is asking great questions and being all motivated and shit - so it's good. Plus her IT skills are strong, so the teaching is not all one way 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2021 22:01

evening all. No keyboard again, ffs. I need to get the new laptop sorted.

glad to hear that the newbie is doing a good job Fancy, always nice when they can contribute something too.

have a lovely time at the wedding LetUs Grin

LetUsPrey · 08/10/2021 22:34

Evening wenches.

Work was aaarrrggghhhhh. Most recent online shopping for DS1’s birthday present (football shirt with name printing) was aaarrgghhh because company have buggered it up.

Your towels are very much not HBFs Apricot Grin

Legs shaved, nails done - wedding prep is underway Grin

LetUsPrey · 09/10/2021 08:23

Morning wenches.

It’s a dry day and doesn’t appear to be windy so hurrah for that.

Need to get packed and start chivvying folk. I’ve a wedding to go to! Thanks for all the happy wedding wishes wenches

Have super wenchy days

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/10/2021 08:33

Morning all. Lovely morning with sunshine. Hope that some of it reaches the wedding!

In sadder news. Psychotic Cockerel, having been rather subdued for a few days, is no more. He must have been about 8 or 9, so bloody old for a bantam. Anyway, 'E's passed on! This chicken is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-CHICKEN!!

I shall have to dig yet another hole...

FancyFancy · 09/10/2021 12:12

Aw, RIP psychotic cockerel Sad. I'm sure the hen's will miss him too, although perhaps not his mansplaining Grin

It is not raining, which means laundry and mowing the lawn......

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/10/2021 14:41

FML. StupidKitten ate an entire shoelace. Literally, the type you do your shoes up with. I know, because fortunately he threw it up this morning. He now has a temperature, is feeling very sorry for himself, and is due back to the vets again this evening to see if he's improved Sad

In the meantime, I have at least managed to de-frost the freezer and get a load of laundry out. I need to dig a hole for Psychotic Cockerel still though. Grass is too wet for mowing here.

ApricotCrush · 09/10/2021 17:38

Afternoon. Another misrable day here. I've got absolutely no motivation to do anything. Hmm

Oh no, RIP PsychoticCockerel. Also WTF StupidKitten? Hope he's alright.

I knew LetUs would have a reply to my towels hanging limply when I typed it. Grin

Hope the wedding's going well.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/10/2021 19:37

LetUs is the Queen of the double-entendre Grin

StupidKitten is home again. He perked up enough to have a bit of special rehydration food (one I prodded his appetite with cheese), and his temperature is back down to normal, so fingers crossed... He's currently hiding in the cat carrier while IntelligentCat has annexed the beanbag. And I have various medicines that I have to get into him at appropriate intervals

So alone with all the vet trips and pet funerals I managed to do washing, de-frost the freezer and pick/roast some tomatoes. So it's been a relatively productive, if slightly stressful day.

FancyFancy · 09/10/2021 20:05

Glad StupidKitten has perked up, what a little nutter.

Have been doing a bit of work today - have lost quite a bit of time to answering questions & supervising the newbie this week. And grappling with IT kicks MS Teams
